Hey man you on point these videos like always..just want to share something with you another loophole to get around the portal not being able to have a web browser and connect to hotel or airport Wi-Fi is if you have a Samsung 20 ultra or newer samsung while you're using Wi-Fi you can share that Wi-Fi with other devices.. I've heard some other devices can do it too If you hit mobile hotspot->configure->advanced Squirrel all the way down and make sure you have Wi-Fi sharing on..

Ok, got mine unit hooked up to PC and Iphone, I get great connection on the PC and audio even sounds better on PC then on my iphone. The pulse isn't working well with iOS it seems, may be drive related. So far I love how they sound when connected to my Lenovo Legion Go.

Hey man, are you sure you didn't pair the buds direct to the ps5 as Bluetooth by mistake? Shouldn't it pair with the dongle?

@CKid Question: Instead of volume control them via your ears try if the Edge controler FN buttons work for you FN+UP/Down for Volume or FN+Left/Right for chat mix ? Every reviewer forgets to review that and if we have the EQ settings like with the Pulse 3D in the PS5 menu

Appreciate the honest review. I tend to keep everything proprietary (AirPods with iPhone), so for me, the only thing I care about is using these on PS5. I’ve seen a few reviews that say it’s only missing EQ settings, but otherwise the sound is on point. Others say the fit is weird. Still unsure about getting them. I opted for soundcore earbuds that work on both Quest 2 and the PS5. Sound isn’t the best, but it beats the pressure of headphones and glasses I’ve had to endure lately. lol Thanks again!

It's a shame that they didn't provide appropriately-sized ear tips. I think the intention though is to use the controls on the controller for adjusting volume. As for the bass, this is going to be based on how well the ear tip fits into your ears. The closer the fit, the more impactful the bass.

@@CKidM Definitely agree there. I went though all the tips, from smallest to largest to see if it made any difference to fit and audio quality, and have to say, not really. If I went too small, or too big, they would fall out, one size fit well, but it got a lil uncomfortable after a while (probably pressed in too far inside my ear), I went back to the standard ones that were on there originally, and that seems to work the best for me, but I don't know if it's the weird shape or the material they're using for the tips, but you just can't get a perfect fit, whereas AirPods and AirPod Pros just seem to fit perfectly, feel good and sound good.

There is no such a thing as "appropriately sized ear tips" there are una size fits most. At least in my case none of those 3 standard issue sizes work so I usually don't use earbuds unless they come free with a device.

Really loved your honest and thorough review. I was looking for headphones to use for the portal but I think I’m going to wait for the updated Pulse headset instead.

When you connect headphones to the PS5, including earbuds, in the control row (tap the PS button to get the Control menu where you shut the system down), there is an earphone icon where you can adjust the graphic equalizer and boost the base, Also on the PS5, you have the Ear Shape audio adjustment settings (1-5) in order to get the best sound based on your hearing. Also the system should be set to Dolby Atmos audio output, and if the audio isn't to your liking, change it back to PCM or even DTS, though Dolby Atmos is perfect for the earbuds. Also did you test the audio when connected to Android? The other reviewers have shown that the sound is fantastic, though you need a 3rd party equalizer since there is no app for the earbuds like with the Sony 1000MX5. iOS should support the earbuds in a future update to the phone (depending on the Bluetooth tech of the phones). From my understanding, they work great with Android 12, 13 and 14 Beta (again depending on Phone Bluetooth tech). From other reviewers (Audiophiles) the PS earbuds have a clearer sound compared to the Sony 1000MX5 (best on the market), though the Sony 1000MX5 has a slightly fuller sound, however this can be achieved on the PS earbuds using a Graphic Equilizer (Sony has an EQ app for the 1000MX5 which gives it the fuller sound on Mobile devices).

The unboxing experience was poor. I saw the pull tab, pulled it and an inch of it ripped off. Thought it must be a different way and proceeded to rip the box to pieces

I had a feeling after seeing thumbnail exactly what your problem with the earbuds would be. As a technology planar magnetic are not known for their bass, but they are known for clarity, imaging, and balance. That is why they are on higher end HI fi and not crowd pleasers like beats. It might be a good idea to read up on technology before making assumptions on how it should sound. Now they will likely be amazing for pro gamers who want crisp clear sound and don't want boomyness drowning out sounds, but yeah not so much movies. I have some earbuds and hifimans planars and admittedly when I first heard them thought the same thing. Did learn to appreciate it. The hifimans edition xs do pretty good with bass, but if I want bass I put some sivga sv21 Robin's on. You would probably love those they are the opposite of planars, not clinical and just fun as heck.

Hello guys. It's absolutely necessary that their fit exactly in your ears. You have to feel the (vacuum). Otherwise you don't get any Bass out of these. I tryed a lot and use other rubbers and the results where amazing. Push them into your ears while listening to Bass and be surprised.

Nah tbh, as someone who is also an audiophile who owns headphones from Hifiman, ZMF, Audeze Focal, etc, its not as simple as "these dont have enough bass". Specifically using on the the PS5, these drivers are just not getting enough amplification for whatever reason. It makes them sound both not dynamic, but also not detailed There's something actually wrong with this device for that reason, might even be something that can be fixed with firmware because using on the PS Portal doesn't have these issues nearly as badly. Also, not having an EQ is so dumb so hopefully thats added too

So far for me I like the Pulse Explore for use with the Portal because of mobility. If I'm sitting in front of my TV with my PS5 I like my Audeze Maxwell much better, plus you get Eq. options ,just my 2cents. Good channel Keep up the work! The volume should be at the top when u wear them. The PlayStation logo point to the front of you I think that the correct way. U had logo pointing up. Thoughts.

The EQ on the console works with any Headphones/Earbuds, not just the Pulse 3D or the Pulse 3D Elite.

Sup bro should i get the regular Pulse Headphones 🎧 or the Inzones. Or wait until the Pulse elites drop

Great video sir, I was waiting for this one to drop! The only downside to the inzone buds is you have to use the adapter to PS5 in order to go wireless. Do you feel any loss in audio quality compared to the pulse explores in this regard?

I’ve had mine since yesterday and have connection cancellations again and again. Sometimes for 1-2 seconds, sometimes the connection is completely gone and I have to reconnect the stick. The stick is in the front usb slot and I sit about 3 meters away from it. I hope it can be fixed with an update, otherwise I will be forced to try the Inzone buds.

Opening my box I just pulled the thin tear strip on the bottom and everything slid out perfectly but got to admit, it’s hard to see, especially when you are just so excited to get the damn thing open. I always take a minute now to figure out how the boxes open ever since completely destroying my PSVR box beyond recognition!

Good question...I'm not sure...but from my knowledge these are using a new proprietary PS Link tech that I believe is only for the Pulse Explore's and the new Pulse Elites that are coming out.

Had the same issue with the box😂. I actually like my inzone earbuds better. They have better sound, better mic, and better functionality when it comes to just tapping the earbuds for mute and volume. Not to mention, they feel better in the ear. I will give my explores a try, but first impressions I'm not impressed.

@ChrischlyM yeah, I did change the tips.I still think the inzone earbuds have a better sound quality. I ended up giving the explore earbuds to my son. I will stick with the inzones. Plus the inzones have better functionality with being able to tap for volume control and noise canceling.

@ngb09229 No, because Sony wanted people to buy the Explore earbuds. You can, however, use the inzones if you run the sound through your PS5. But if you are away from your house only the Explore will work.

If you can get your phone paired to the Buds I want to know the audio quality when playing music. I have the Samsung Galaxy Ultra 23. I also game but I want them to do double duty!💯 Thanks and I appreciate your channel and by the way I'm 67yrs old!🙋🏿‍♂️

there is only 1 usb-con the PS5 (older one), and we need one to run PSVR2 - do you use an adapter? any latency issue with it?

To open the box you supposed to tear the seal “underneath the box”, once that’s done you pull the box out.

Audio is subjective so based on your hearing it could be good for you...but for me it sounded flat.

Would you mind testing to see if the earbuds will work with the PS4 I’m just curious because it’s still a PlayStation product?

Ty for the video brother. I ordered the inzone instead. ANC 12 hours and .. Seems to be more comfy. Honesty maybe Sony inzone department can work with PlayStation department and make the inzone quality with planar and make it more expensive. I think it will be worth it! Only problem with inzone is white noise I have heard from KZreadrs… have you heard the white noise when not playing games and sitting idle?

I feel like headsets and buds for pc make higher quality that can be used for console also… rather than the console brand. I think from time to time you have to plug it into a computer to “update firmware” and you unfortunately can’t use software that comes with it. Currently own steel series headset and I use it for PlayStation. I really wanted some amazing high end buds and I would love if they are tuned for PlayStation

For wireless, nothing will beat the Audeze Maxwell.$329 US btw ;)

The box, there's a pull tab at the bottom that once removed let's you slide the box down. The fit, I also went thru the entire offering in the box and found it bad. Changed the tips to my Spinfits and instant seal!!! Night and day difference. Bass does hit different once sealed. The volume rockers are a little small and me being used to touch controlled buds for muting is a minus. But the sound IS good but switch the tips switched out. Hoping Sony puts out an app for phones and the Portal for EQ support

You can pair it to your phone by turning the Bluetooth off while the pairing light flashes then quickly turn Bluetooth back on and you should see it under available Bluetooth then

Just picked these up yesterday after returning the inzone earbuds. I really liked the inzones, but at the end of the day not being able to connect them to my phone was a deal breaker for me. I picked these up (a return) and was given a discount bringing them to $130. I'll be honest I didn't even think I'd like them at all after seeing a lot of reviews, but Sony must have done some updates recently because I've yet to get any disconnections while gaming and with the EQ settings they really sound as good as the inzones do to me, but I'd still give the edge to them. Overall, I'm really on the fence as far as returning these because after gaming and connecting these to my phone, I'm not sure I can beat this price at $130. Mind you, these are my first pair of earbuds though and plus I have the new pulse elites coming next week, so I might just keep them both. Lastly if Sony took the best of what makes the inzones great and the pulse explore's great they'd have the perfect all around buds for sure...

I thought there were settings on the ps5 that you can change in audio settings as I think when you use on the portal it selects the correct one as it’s paired directly to the portal. Have a play around and see on the ps5. P.s they look 🔥 deffo unique

I wanted a PS Portal but my Internet speeds are often below minimum recommendations.

Maybe changing audio settings in playstation can make them sound better

You had them in wrong, the white part needs to be horizontal for perfect fit, you had them pointing up and almost vertical, once you got that down they are almost 👌🏾

I bought these and I was happy about it but I noticed it keeps disconnecting and reconnecting couple times every session I play. It's very annoying hopefully they fix it. And has anyone figured out a fix for this themselves?

Just bought mine yesterday. The EQ in the system helps a lot. My suggestion if you want bass use the bass boost on the PS5 EQ system. The bass will sound tight and rich. However it’s an adjustment going from headset to earbuds. The sound is amazing the magnetic drivers are better than regular cone speakers. Price is steep for $200 but once set up properly you will be satisfied.
