I assume because any 3rd party position undermines our Coke-Pepsi democracy. Assume they’re happy to amplify any anti-establishment thinking, whether progressive or Trump-type, as long as it destabilises. It may be the same to them, but it’s not to us. Have to use discernment. We want a democracy based on discerning voters; not on sheltered voters - single media and single, state sponsored narrative, Putin style.

Mr. Hedges finally distance yourself from the Russian-funded media! Otherwise you are guilty of legitimizing and supporting an unprovoked war of aggression. You know very well that RT not only consists of your program, but is also involved in disinformation campaigns about COVID or the conditions in Russia. For example, in Great Britain, in connection with the Russian poison attack in Salisbury and the war in Syria three years ago, RT was fined 200,000 pounds for repeated violations of objectivity rules. If a media outlet repeatedly violates such regulations, it should not be surprised if it is closed down. Don't tinker with a martyr legend here. RT is not innocent. If you do not finally distance yourself from Putin and his misdeeds, you will flush your credibility down the toilet.

All the Russians need is Fox, and they are too big to cancel. It is hard to empathize with Hedges though. It is tough to get funding to perform real journalism independent of ratings these days. That is no excuse to take funding from authoritarian governments like Russia or China -- countries that demonstrably kill, imprison, and disappear journalist who dare to contradict state propaganda. Take your lumps Chris, find a better, less conflicted way to practice journalism.

Chris Hedges is one of the very few people I trust nowadays. He is not afraid to speak the truth even if it costs him. Only a select few in human history had that same level of courage, those who survived managed to change the world. But no pressure, Chris :)

Andre Balsa, The reason he was silenced is that he is one of the best journalists with credibility. One of very few left standing. KZread is now full of rug media outlets. All following the plan to design a society of "bewildered herd". I stumbled upon an article about this plan 4 or 5 years ago. I thought it was preposterous until I visited our local shopping centre, and paid attention to the people there. To my horror, what I saw was a bewildered herd: a crowd of people aimlessly wandering around and many were munching or sucking on something

I am amazed, surprised that Amy allowed this section to be posted. Very brave move. I was starting to lose hope in Democracy Now!

I was recently in my home country in Latin America and I was able to see RT and people there even poor they have a clear idea of how this war on truth is taking place.

Despicable interview. Chris used the entire segment to push the blatantly false disinforming idea of "Russian war crimes", parroting NATO's war propaganda, without referring to a single fact of what he actually means. "Russian war crimes in Syria"? Against whom, the ISIS? What are you babbling about, Chris. Or did you mean to say the "Israeli, American, Turkish and NATO war crimes in Syria", but somehow misspoke and said "Russia", making a total fool of yourself? Do you even KNOW what's been going on in Syria for more than a decade now and who's been occupying the country illegally, supporting the terrorist thugs there and perpetrating the actual war crimes, if not the genocide on the Syrian people? And since when is the honorable action to demilitarize a brutal NAZI regime in Ukraine that has been committing a full-out genocide of Donbass for the entire eight years right on the Russian border, perpetrating endless atrocities since the Nazi coup in 2014, including the burning of citizens in Odessa, shelling and bombing of hospitals, schools, kindergartens, nursery homes, public transport, buildings and houses of entire cities and villages of Donetsk and Lugansk regions; the water and energy blockade of Donbass and Crimea; the mass terror and persecution of the outlawed anti-fascists and millions of the Russian people - is considered a "war crime", in whose book, in what sickening Goebbelsian propaganda? NOT A WORD on all of this or any mention of the NATO's client Nazi regime in Kiev and its real, not fabricated war crimes and atrocities that finally led so belatedly to the Russian humanitarian action. Where Russia is actually ridiculed by the war-crime professionals of the NATO block for such tiptoeing approach and not leveling the cities and villages to the ground, as NATO itself has done and would do. I've lost the last bits of respect for Chris after these sickeningly false accusations. Either be factual or don't be a blabbermouth, in a simple attempt to "cover your bases" and retain an "objective viewpoint" in the eyes of the anti-Russian hawkish American public.

Hedges eloquence, insight, and integrity has already penetrated the public consciousness. I see his name referenced everywhere. I guess some word like ''Hedgian'' will soon be coined! He is a force. I'd wait in line to hear him speak- and my days of ''going out'' are long gone. It's like Ukraine banning Russian literature and music- YT deleting Hedges is am impoverished OF YT.

Thank you for FINALLY covering this huge problem! Its happening in Canada too... I hope you continue showing dissenting voices to the Duopoly & status quo.

This is the sign of the times. I have been following Hedges for 10 years and he's intelligent, has integrity & morals, somewhat prophetic and resilient. I hope his work becomes available again.

Going to RT was a bad decision. I liked to read and watch Chris Hedges on Truthdig regularly, but refused to follow him to RT, and only watched the occasional talk of his on other platforms.

Anyone that supports Palestine, brings up illegal wars, crimes against humanity modern day slavery, Gaza, Yemen, racism is being censored on this platform now. It is really is no longer valid as a source for independent journalists. Which to me was half the reason I was up here. Now I’m following everyone to all these different independent platforms and know I’m missing a lot in the meantime because I’m one of the marginalized who can’t afford to subscribe to all of these.

They did not remove Chris, they removed RT because they have chosen to no longer do business with Russia. If Chris owns the video material he can put it up on his own channel, no problem.

It sucks, yep, but YT don't have to keep anything on their system because it's theirs. Not mine or anyone elses. There's no contractural or legal reason why they can't delete whatever they want. But as Jeff noted (below) they deleted RT, not Chris. He can just re-post it under a different account. And YT isn't the only platform out there...

What are they do afraid of that they have to shut down RT we want to hear both side of the history. Good things we have independent journalists for now.

Who controls the controllers? There should be a judicial process to decide the legitimacy of blocking people. The only reason for stopping one from expressing themselves is if the person's ideas causes CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER. The US system is way too stable to be so jittery about freedom of speech. The system's power is too deeply rooted in the culture to become so defensive. Any factual, science based information that is useful to the people should be allowed and debated in an open society like the US.

Agree 100%. One of my favorite KZreadrs says “If the content is so bad you have to delete it, call the police.” She’s not advocating for arresting KZreadrs; she’s pointing out that the way KZread responds is similar to how you’d respond to criminals. Are they breaking the law? No? Then why the heavy hand with punitive elements?

I agree with hearing all perspectives of things. It gives better context to make my own decisions.

So glad we have people like him around. So sad that what used to be objective reporting just spreads US / CIA propaganda. You need to hire people like Chris!

You should imagine having to really work for a living and getting your hands dirty!

This is unfortunate. It's one of the few shows I could get unbiased info from. Media is no longer free. This is only the beginning. It's going to happen to all of us eventually.

I just heard the whole interview with Chris and I think it was a fair point of view of him.

RT played both sides just to improve how the Kremlin looked, the liberties that certain hosts like Hedges talks about don’t exist in Russia either. Al Jazeera has even better coverage of world events than RT but Qatar is even more repressive than Russia has been (pre full invasion).
