Sylvia as a Jamaican we fry the steak or meat dishes then cook in 😮the gravy adding sweet peppers, onions, garlic and tomatoes with a bit of stock, soy sauce and season with thyme, black pepper, tumeric paprika and cook until tender and the gravy thickens.

Many people like their meat medium rare so it is slightly red/ pink onside… I am like Koree i like my meat thoroughly cooked no pink no red at all😂😂. We also cook with butter, olive oil which I think is the very best, and then cooking oil like canola or sunflower oil. There was great fun to watch you both in the kitchen, thanks for bringing us into your home❤🎉

Koree you are always so polite to your followers not like some of those other You Tubers that take everything for a conflict. We are all from various countries so the tone or comment might sound one way but it is only how people see what you are doing and react, but not always mean. You are to be commended for your understanding and grateful response.

Cooking bananas(green bananas) and ripe bananas are the same thing. Only difference is one is ripe and the other is green. Here in the Caribbean we just let the green bananas ripe and then eat it or cook them green. The green ones we use to cook or make salads, casserole etc. The ripe ones we eat as is or make smoothies, banana bread or banana pancakes. Just made some banana pancakes for the kids this morning. I love them because they’re versatile

  • @jamdowndaughta

Green bananas are simply young “sweet” bananas that are picked well before they close to ripening. Plantain is usually fried or baked rather than boiled. In Jamaica we eat green banana boiled as the starch in the meal.

Actually bananas come in many varieties! There's the small sugar bananas, the longer bigger bananas which are also eaten ripe; the plantain with a hard cover ( you cook these by deep frying, steaming or baking);the green ones that are usually peeled, cooked, mashed and eaten with stews; the type that's ripened and fermented for alcohol; the short, plump pale green bananas, that are also steamed; the red ones that are eaten ripe; and many more!!!!!!

Bananas are first green and then is allowed to ripen. So banana is first green and then it gets to the ripe (sweet) state. In Jamaica we use both types of bananas - green one for cooking and eating as a starch and the ripe (sweet) one as a fruit. Banana and plantain are from the same food group but we prepare them differently. Both are very nice whichever way it is prepared. Your choice- bon appetite! The food looks delicious.

I heat the skillet until it has been dried out then I place the meat in where the heat draws out the juices. The aroma is great but having it on a low heat it cooks while other food is being prepared. Having it turned on the other side adding a little water it finishes very moist and delicious. Keep going guys. Love you all . Koree please do not have cold drink with hot food.
