Great informative video. Made very real to life with the passengers acting like they were inconvenienced and upset. Amazing how some people in the community actually still get upset that someone with a disability go before them. I'm definitely sharing this video with the company I work for. I know my coworkers will enjoy this video. Thank you.

I especially like how the point that many wheelchair users don't have very good trunk control. I'm a quadriplegic and have hit my head off of windows far too many times because bus drivers have made quick, sharp turns or stopped suddenly! I know these things can't always be avoided, but it's great when drivers are taught to keep these things in mind.

Watched this along with several other lift videos, lots of good information.

Entirely up to the passenger if they want to use a shoulder belt? Wow. Only if they have a doctor's note in the UK. If they are only wearing a lap belt, they will fold in half so fast if you have to stop sharply. It's why the centre lap belt in cars was replaced with lap/diagonal many years ago.

I find it really funny whenever I take the bus in my chair and I have to transfer to another bus people don’t understand that when the ramp comes down it mean someone with a disability is getting off and they need to stand back. Instead they try to get on as the ramp is being deployed or just all get on right as the bus gets to the terminal

Certainly from the standpoint of people with disabilities, it is not nice or public, and individual means of transport are good.

Till this day I didn't even know there were buses with a ramp-system (and the space needed) at the front of the bus. All buses in The Netherlands only allow disabled passengers to board at the center (articulated buses or center doors on non-articulated buses with 3 doors) or back (non-articulated buses with 2-doors). The front never has enough space to get such a wheelchair through and even normal wheelchairs will have a hard time to in via the front, should their be a ramp. On the other hand, such big wheelchairs are probably not even allowed on our buses and are usually dealt with by other contractors who specialise in these passengers. The ramp seems great though. The Scania Omnilinks that are in service with EBS in my city were all equipped with a slide-out ramp, something that was marketed as a major improvement over the manual ramps the Arriva buses used before the tender was re-issued to the market again (as is mandatory in The Netherlands since 2000). Downside is that I have NEVER saw those ramps work flawless. Either they would not extend at all, with all kinds of alarms going off at the driver's position, or they would extend partially, only to 'see' an obstruction (read: nothing there, most likely just sensor-error) and either retract again (more or less good) or (worse) extending and then getting stuck in some system malfunction, rendering the whole bus stationary until someone would somehow manage to get the ramp back in. The solution now is, yes, installing manual ramps in them again, which obviously is a botched up solution.

Great informative video. Please, passengers, that are able-bodied allow the driver to see a person in a wheelchair at a bus stop and be courteous to allow them to board. My driver wasnt allowed to see the person with a chair to board so they didn't know of the passenger until I informed the driver. What the DOT and the ADA should do is make it to where the aisle is clear of things, and walkers, Strollers have a space to be without being in the aisle. there needs to be a designated space for them as do wheelchairs. { and the persons who use them.} My husband is blind and has tripped on the obstacle. Why women do not take their babies out of strollers I don't get it Child endangerment"? I have low vision and help my drivers by putting up the seat for a person in a chair. Of he helped them why I put it down. Manners and respect dignity. Sugar goes further than salt. Common sense.

This was a very informative video.

Very informative. What the hell is wrong with the 100 people that disliked this?

All the timing up is to much as people may be standing to get of when or of and all fuss to open to undo when bell rings

I have a question and hope you can help me. The other day I was using a lift like the 2nd video, it's a 7 passenger transit bus when I loaded the lady it was working, but when I went to pick her up lift didn't work, I set hand brake and made sure switch was on it showed green light. Any help on what to check would be most thankful. Thanks

That is to mush trouble and all the seats are taken by taven putting chair on use a bus with double doors one set in middle
