    I have to put the "Dirty Work Inc." series at the level of "tales from the gas station" and "accounts from of a 24/7 broadcaster" in terms of epicness and downright just masterful writing... Its freaking awesome man..

    The first part of this segment reminds you that these aren't the good guys in the way we think. That girl was a complete innocent. Yes, her death prevented more deaths, but still, it's not like she volunteered. Her family will never know what happened to her.

    You know, it seems incredibly stupid for them to bring the book back to the shop Before taking it to the hotel!!! Seems like it would be WAY Smarter to just take it straight to the hotel instead. Adding more steps just adds more possibilities for something to happen during transit..... Which actually proves to be true and not just a possibility......

  • @joshwaggoner1301

    @joshwaggoner1301

    3 ай бұрын

    Yeah... Unless you actually understand geography and asset management, and if the shop is a significantly shorter distance to the original location of the book than the Hotel. Which means there's a minimal time gap between recovery to shop, which nets the benefit of generating uncertainty with multiple decoys during the longer transit gap to the Hotel. Straight from the original location to the Hotel means all available opposition will be certain of the asset's location and will engage that carrier simultaneously. Versus a multi vector decoy approach where the opposition isn't immediately aware of the asset's location and has to divide forces to attempt to intercept them all at once. It's risk management, not rist neutralization.

    Whoa whoa whoa back up the party bus. Since when do people get Bugs Bunny frisky at Anime conventions? I know there's a lot of shenanigans at the furry conventions at least so I've been told from friends of mine in the community I haven't had the pleasure of attending one of those conventions;). Now I've attended at least three sci-fi conventions where are the majority of the people tooling around are the anime crowd and I never heard anything about any hotel room tomfoolery going on. I would have been in on that like Flynn! First I've heard any of that going on at a anime convention those tend to be married people with their kids and wall to wall crack And Star Wars virgins. Rest of the crowd admittedly is usually cross play anime girls but I don't see any of them making moves on the creepy old guys or the dads with their kids and wives lol unfortunately at this point I'm nearing that creepy old guy side of the equation so maybe that's why I don't see anything like that going on.

    Abigail knows how much about the Stooges? Dear God it's a woman and she's a Stooges fan? I don't f****** care if she is Oompa Loompa size! You know how uncommon it is to meet somebody that's a fan of the Stooges let alone a member of the better gender?she just dumped out more than I knew possible.i know there was eight of those knuckle knots but honestly didn't know a lot beyond that grew up watching some of the movies and shorts and one of the things on the old bucket list I keep kicking around is grabbing a complete Stooges box set on DVD or Blu-ray.thar a little part of my happy place I haven't visited in about 20 years and not a lot of people get get the humour that are my age.iam 43 so most people are like in their 80s. man That's the kind of woman you consider marrying;). i meen she's got a even darker sense of humour than me and she can clearly kick my ass if need be so she's even got that going for her lol. That little short stack just has so many positives.its sad People dwell on her appearance. You think people would be a little bit more familiar with different types of dwarfism. For the record I also love a overly intelligent woman.i find brains attractive so shoot me.Furthermore she's a carpenter or at least has Carpenter skills that's a big thumbs up in my book I can barely hammer a nail straight so yeah I respect somebody with those kind of skills.

    I think the part you don't understand is the implicit nature of how the story was told in regards to part 2. To understand an implicit aspect of a story you have to pay close attention to details, times, and patterns. It's not that they were female. Has nothing to do with it. The answer is in the understanding that you could theoretically do anything and everything, no matter how brutal, deplorable, perverse, painful, or damaging to their bodies and they'd recover, all the while fully experiencing the pain of everything that is done to them while people act out their most twisted fantasies, and in the pattern of the doors. If the woman in the first door looks to be in her 40s, then the next one seems to be in her early 20s, then the one after that looks significantly younger than 18, and there's 2 more doors, what are you most likely to find behind the last door?

    I'd love to see that, but I'm pretty sure It'd somehow get butchered and ruined. Maybe it'd even still be great, but still not the same thing, kinda like the Witcher show.

    I was just having a conversation with someone about this yesterday on the subreddit. There's a lot to cover so I'll try to go find it and just paste it here in this thread since it would be a huge pain to type all that out again. With the addendums that in today's media climate TV isn't the only home for a series. The internet can produce really good content too. That said, I think on the hypothetical scenario that this or any of the other Worstverse stories got optioned for adaptation, my top pick is FX. The Strain is a case study on how to adapt literature to a visual medium and it's proof that it can be done. And again, hypothetically, yeah that would be awesome. In a perfect world I'd love to see Benicio del Toro as Mark and Christy Saint John's as the WAA protagonist and Josh Brolin as Hook and Brian Le as Han-lao. But let me go find that bit I was talking about an kinda explain why everyone, myself included, should manage our expectations with that sort of thing.

    Here we are; That's a very big if. It's just not very likely at all that it would ever happen. For multiple factors. Like even IF the quality of writing is there, that really doesn't mean much anymore, like at all. Writing these days is usually secondary or tertiary in priority. They want a concept, a solid target demographic in place, and buzz potential. Then they worry about writing it. Case in point, High Guardian Spice is a thing that exists. And how that black mark on the history of animation came to be was they started with a concept, found their target demographic, and then took to Tumblr and hired a team of writers off of there to write it. Then somewhere down the line a large chunk of the animation budget got pocketed by somebody to where they had to use stolen .PNG images with the watermark still on them in the a pl scenes. Meanwhile Disney is cancelling The Owl House because one of the executives has an "unspecified problem" with the show. Saying "it doesn't fit our brand". Even though the actual ratings and reception is outstanding. But as good as The Owl House is, it only exists in the first place because the creator already had a job in the industry. She had a chance to submit her work directly without the near insurmountable red tape the average person would have to cross, including paying to hire an agent WITH a pre established connection with the studio in question. Because they don't take unsolicited submissions from unrepresented individuals. Liam Vickers is able to do Murder Drones, despite before that being a relatively unknown writer on KZread because he also already worked in the industry and was able to crowd fund a proof of concept, then a pilot episode, and then the series. All the while working with a team of other animators and voice actors because he lives in a place where that's doable. I live in the middle of Alabama. Far far away from any of that. There's other circumstances responsible for most of the programming today other than just quality or popularity. There's opportunity, environment, and demand. Good shows get cancelled all the time. That aside, this just isn't popular enough to get around all that and be an exception to the rule. The single most viewed video of the entire series is the original Werewolves are Assholes video on Dr. Creepen's channel that's getting close to 150,000 views after around 3 years. That's not even a blip on a studio's radar. Granted, right now the compilation video for the first season of Dirty Work Inc. is doing WAY better than I expected, especially given it was literally just a mini series to bridge the first and second season of I Ride for Cerber. But with the way its views are climbing it looks like it might at least have a shot as passing the original WAA and Cursed Object that's in second place. So that, if anything, is likely going to be the one with the potential to expand the overall popularity a little. There's just so, SO much more that goes into getting something adapted onto film than just being well written OR popular. And I honestly know more about filmmaking and the film industry than I do about writing. And right now it just doesn't look like that's in the cards. It's all I can do to find time to get the book I'm working on finished before I even start the nightmare of publishing it. It's all a lot of work and hastle, and as long as I'm not making money, any money, writing and have to work doing something else to tread water, I'm not going to have time to pursue any kind of adaptation like that. At the end of the day I'm writing all this in my free time because I want to. I'm writing because I want to write the stories I want to write. There's literally no goal or motivation beyond that. So like I've been telling everyone who mentions the subject, if you guys have any aspirations for the Worstverse stories beyond KZread, then it's on you guys to make that a possibility.

    @@joshwaggoner1301 I'd actually be game to do this as a show. Honestly with everything being so woke its unwatchable examples like the owl house are what we can exspect. They seem to have forgotten what is actually good and replaced it with forcing a narrative that almost no one cares about. This said ive got zero idea how to go about it. I'm broke and live in west virginia where almost everyone I know is either on drugs or dead because of drugs. The escape from reality these stories provide truly does help and sadly the dangerous world they take place in is sadly better then our own because sense can be made of it. Here I know a girl who was set on fire over $20, or the 4 kids who were killed because someone thought they stole drugs. Then there are the rest of the problems which just get worse from there. Our friends from dirty work Inc really don't seem bad to me because what they do is for the greater good as opposed to just profit. Cerber takes better care of its people the the business here do and Tom cruse is still creepy. It's safe to say I love these stories.
