Amazing trip report . Trash joke time : This Virgin Australia plane is really losing it's virginty ! BTW , #OWFteam is the best . And here are some opinions : 3:27 , I love how you bring your egg tarts to the lavatory and show it to us , VERY HYGIENIC 5:29 , to be honest , this is not the worst . In the 747 trip (You may remember ? I guess ?) Below the seat , there's far more rubbish than this . 17:11 , I've seen this on Cathay's A350-1000 , nothing special to me… But still , the plane was very dirty .

The food and beer in the shower room was really funny at 3:19 - That's something I would do. That wins the Internet for me today. Were there no seats available in the lounge? 🤣

Jayden, thank you for the trip reporting. It looked very amazing -so pretty. When the bathrooms are shocking, I go to the galley to ask for some gloves so I can clean the bathroom...... they soon get the hint. Now, back to the coat hook. Do you think it’s sturdy enough to handle my Canali 3/4 length trench in Goretex with Alpacca lining waist coat? The padding is quite generous so it’s fairly weighty and I wouldn’t want it collapsing on the floor- especially when the floor was in such a disgusting state such as you endured. BTW, was that water on the floor or something more sinister? I just hope the coat hook will be suitable for my 2018 Northern Winter Trench. Please advise. Also, were you able to enjoy a glass of Jacquard or Duval Le Roi on the craft as a nice settle in welcome drink?

Thanks so much for watching! I'm sure the coat hook is sturdy enough, but maybe it's not positioned high enough and your coat may touch the pool of water😂🤮I have no idea what kind of water that was... Hopefully, it was just pure h2o. And nope, no fancy welcome drink in economy😂

A fair review. Liked that you acknowledged the positves along with the negatives. That toilet- gee whiz. I have seen some shockers, but none with a flooded floor. Did the crew close it off? Thanks for your reviews. Soda water and coat hook bonus! :)

Thanks for watching Jayne!! Yep never seen a lavatory that bad before. If I were the crew, I wouldn’t bother cleaning it, just lock it 😂 but no they didn’t lock it, they probably didn’t realise

Thanks a lot for watching Owen! There is no airside hotel in HK so Regal does not have airside access for transit. Should definitely go out, immigration is very efficient in HK anyways :D

Thanks for taking us on another Thursday journey Jayden. Virgin do turn on a decent experience consistently on these long-haul routes. I see a lot of questionable levels of cleaning maintenance on aircraft, and have to wonder if they ever receive the thorough cleaning they need.

Thanks Pierre! I was very shocked by the puddle of water in the lavatory, how did that even happen😂I do not blame the crew if they don't want to dry it, if I were them, I would just lock that lavatory. But still, I'm sure the lavatories require more attention

wow...first of all, I should thank you for this honest and comprehensive reviews on this flight. I will travel to MEL with my family a couple of weeks later and I didn't expect that the in-flight hygiene condition can be that bad. I'm kind of regret to book the tickets with VA after checking some reviews on Trip Advisor and KZread. Quite a lot of people said that their flights were quite dirty and even got bitten by bugs/fleas. Finally...I can see how dirty it is but at least I can prepare whatever I can do to "protect" from those fleas. Did you feel itchy in the flight btw?

Great video as always . Apart from the dirt and rubbish which I actually think is unacceptable as that’s the least you expect is a clean plane . My friends loved Hong Kong and will return next year lol they were a little worried about how expensive it would be . But they said it’s as cheap and as expensive as you make It and never had any trouble . Also said they were very well received and made to feel so welcome 👍 great news all round

Did the lounge personnel team think it was an interesting choice to mix Portuguese tarts with beer, and then indulge them in the toilet/shower.?. I guess it’s nice and private at least. I must try that when I can’t get a table next time......I’ll take the chicken Vindaloo to the Loo and feast on it there!

haha sometimes what they say doesn't make sense. The crew on my Qantas flight last week kept saying 'main cabin' was referring to economy class, he was trying to be American lol. Thanks Ralph!!!

Also @OneWorldFlyer I wanna ask I sometimes do little trip reports like this video here but how do I get a runway shot from the cabin in ECO? I had hard times to take shots of the runway and I had no chance of even seeing the runway from my seat So is there any tip that I can get a runway shot in the cabin? Please reply

Yeah it's not easy and you have to sit on the correct side too. In eco, there's likely going to have a wing that obstructs the runway view so make sure you move your camera as the plane taxis into the runway, away make sure there's some space between the window and your camera so as you move your camera won't hit the window. There’s been talk of removing this route as the flight has been underperforming pax wise , explains why the flights half full , If you had a issue raise it with the cabin crew ? I’ve had to do it before and they thanked me for telling them . Still a much better airline then Qantas

Thanks for watching Daniel! Yeah I read an article not so long ago, the load factor for Qantas and Cathay is about 80% but only 60% for Virgin... I didn't tell the crew on the flight about the garbage issue but fortunately one of them watched this video and will do something about it :D

So medium haul flight, it is normal to use airbus A330 such a medium aircraft.

I find the seat on the VA A330 very uncomfortable. I struggle on Perth to the east coast. Not sure how people manage on Hong Kong to Australia, and soon, Japan to Australia.

haha oh dear! For me, Virgin offers the best service from hong Kong to Australia but it also comes with the least comfortable seats. Legroom is the tightest of all and I can never sleep on leather seats. Thanks very much for watching!

The Hong Kong Airlines lounge is not too bad,but Food is dry and mess also toliet is dirty. The advantage is the crew is youngest,IFE is more choose. Finally,have a safe trip on taiwan.

Definitely The Pier! but the cabana in The Wing is also a must do. So i recommend visiting the cabana in The Wing first, then go to The Pier for the food, massage and day suite! Thanks Zaid!

Nice trip report! But 'Max Taste No Sugar' frame suggests they never clean properly in that area. Either bad training or lack of time given for cleaning planes.

I took this flight last time as well, the difference is my plane DELAYED for 12 HOURS, it was a macenical failure, took this flight straight to Shanghai before as well, PTV needed a bit update, needed a bit more movies. The plane’s light is good

Virgin is having a hard time making the HKG route profitable, they even cancelled the route you just flew there in favour of the BNE-HND flight. Not even surprised it's half empty. A month ago they were offering the SYD-HKG route for AUD408 return...

true, hope the SYD HKG is still sustainable and BNE HND will do well. The major problem I think is that they don't offer enough connections in HK. They got Hong kong Airlines but the timing is poor, so is the Virgin Atlantic flight to London. Qantas and oneworld offer much better connection (and lounges) in HK. Thanks for watching :D

Top man !! A 1664 !! A great beer (not sure about the matching egg tarts though ??) The rubbish is awful....normally Virgin are much better than that!! Great vision of a night departure from Chep Lap Kok !!! Boy you can eat a noodle !! Wow!! That is not a nice toilet !! UUghh ! Right here...Right now ! Great review my friend....as they are now looking (VA) to switching to Japan next year as the HK flights have been less than successful in terms on numbers of passengers...especially in Business Class. 1664 is my favourite beer! The ones made in France are the best. The ones I get in Adelaide are made in Australia and they taste weird! Yep, never seen such a dirty plane before, imagine if it was a full flight!! I hope VA will be successful with their new Brisbane to Tokyo flight, and do a joint venture partnership with ANA! Hmm, excuse me, Jayden. I saw your shoutout spreadsheet lists and I saw my name got crossed while I haven't received any shoutout. What happened? Nice video as always though, and too bad the toilet is too messy for a long haul flight. It looks like a portable toilet in a cemetery rather than in an airplane.

Sir .. Richard Branson that is.. I always recommended people fly virgin because they were the most fun and down to earth peeps.. apparently that is offensive to. I said it in chatiw well before any of this took place so I ain't ass kissing.. just factually speaking

This isn't just applicable to Virgin Australia but to basically every airline I've flown on - I absolutely HATE how long some of those in-flight announcements are, because the IFE is disabled for that entire time! It's worse when every announcement has to be relayed in two or even three languages. I'm paying for a service and I'm not getting to enjoy/utilise it to the fullest, because they need to give their 20-minute marketing spiel that NOBODY is listening to. /rant

Virgin Australia long haul flights do have some of the longest announcements ever. Everything was repeated into 2 other languages on this flight, certainly wasn't fun for many! Someone from Virgin has watched this video and passed on the message to the right people :D Thanks for watching

VA because there's more food and the service is quicker. I sleep better on QF but the service is too slow so sleeping down is cut down. I'll check it out!
