    I enjoyed this interview! People in the comments that judge this band just because they perceive that they are a little awkward or arrogant is disappointing. They were asked to do this interview about their music because they have achieved something real as artists. It's not arrogant to respond honestly to questions about your life's work.

    This guy's questions are fine. Retreaded, but fine. It's the goddamn two of them who insist on this bullshit artist thing where every question is "meh," "not really," "I dunno." I think Longstreth is a genius...which is why I'd like to hear more of his thought process. I hate it when artists put out a record and yet have nothing to say.

    yeah, i think they're just kinda naturally awkward like that, to me it doesn't feel alienating or "cultish" at all, if anything they feel exceptionally down to earth

    Jian starts the interview with an awkward question about brand management then interprets the discomfited response as cue to rephrase so as to help the poor pair understand, then trying that again when he gets the same result.

    I can see how the interviewer could, and has, pissed off artists during interviews. He approaches it like he has something to offer those he's trying to glean information from. This can make for some nice transactions; but the fact is that an interviewer is NOT on equal grounds during an interview scenario. I think Gianni's approach is rare for a good reason.

    What's funny to me is he does use synthesizers in his writing process very obviously for anyone who has produced music. He just recreates his synth sounds in the studio acoustically. It's very obvious.

    I came here because I like dirty projector, and want to hear about their life & process. instead this interviewer is harassing them, trying to assert his dominance. it's disgusting. can we get this guy fired?

    I love her under bite (no irony). I think the band would be a lot better if Longstreth wasn't so arrogant. What's that 'michellazerad' word?... He's wonderful though.
