DIRTY POUR Technique With EPOXY Resin Attempt #2 | An Easy Resin Technique for Resin Beginners
Dirty Pour Technique in EPOXY resin!
In today’s video I’m doing another DIRTY POUR with epoxy resin but this time I’m changing up a couple of things. For starters I’m using a silicone split cup to separate my different colored resin and secondly I will let my resin sit for 30 minutes before pouring it so it can thicken up so then hopefully my colors will be a bit more defined and separated.
To my dismay this resin dirty pour didn’t work out exactly like I was hoping. The colors still muddled up a bit and I lost the teal resin in the pieces almost complete. In my opinion the resin coaster was the best piece but only the top side as the bottom side it ended up messy and not how I expected at all. But overall I really enjoyed the process and I’ve learned from it. I hope you guys enjoy this video as well and be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss any future resin crafting videos.

Colors each have a different velocity, blue and gold are heavier thus they out weigh the teal. There are some really good books that explain how colors work together and the best colors to mix for better results.🌺

I didn’t know blue and gold were heavier. I’ve pinned your comment so others can see it. Thankyou!
You never have a fail , you can always fix it .
I don't think it was a fail. It's definitely colorful and unique. Just my 1 cent.
The coaster looks like water and sky, so add a sailboat or something to turn it into a ocean scene.

I like the coaster
My personal preference is for this pour, the square pendent and that coaster! They are stunning. The pendent on one side is like lava flowing and I'd be happy to wear it with either side showing, and that coaster is a captured rainbow! I know the teal didn't come through as planned, but I don't think it was detrimental to the end results. Thank you for another great video.
I love when someone takes the viewer through the experimentation process. I love these pieces and I subscribed. Thanks, you are great at explaining the process!
The coaster looks like a sunset over water . I get that vibe in the pendants too. I like them all
The liquid color plus mica gives a really cool depth effect making it look almost 3D. I wonder if 5 colors is just too many? IDK! Fun to experiment though!

That’s a thought and a possibility. The have 2 way, 3 way and 4 way cups as well. Need to order those too😆
I think they turned out pretty!! With that said green and red are opposite on the color wheel so the green in the teal and the red in the pink muddied each other out…. Maybe change the the color next to the teal or pick a different color to go by the teal 😊
When you swirl it in a tree ring pour, you create bubbles. I do pours, but I put the colors in separately. If it is thick enough, you can use something to swirl them together, gently, after you wait and break the bubbles. I like these though, they are very interesting.

interesting. Ill give that a go. You guys are giving me so many good suggestions lol 😁
i like those stirrers
I liked them all actually. Especially the small pieces
When you cover them up to cure, I’ve learned to lift up a side a bit so heat and fumes can escape. Also, Dollar Tree sells netted food covers, which work great. These are too cool!

Sunrise over the ocean. 😊
I love those! Especially the coaster. It almost reminds me of a sunset over a landscape.
I actually think it looks good!

The pendents look really nice actually. The poured side of the coaster looks better then the other side.

yeah it really does. 🙂
To me nothing is a fail. And it looks beautiful.
I would use a slower hand when you are pouring in circles, it helps create thicker color bands. I think they're all gorgeous tho!

ooo okay Ill try that!
I luv the coaster
Very different
I’m loving the pendants!
Stunning
LOVE THEM!!!!❤
I really want to try this thanks for trying it out
I think they are beautiful!
They are still cool!
I like the round one and the back of the coaster
The colors looked so good as you poured them out. Such a shame they blended together. I have two ideas that could help the colors stay separate. One would be using chunkier glitter to color the resin, that way the different pigments cannot blend together. Another would be to heat the different colors different amounts, the problem with letting it sit is that they are all still the same exact thickness when you pour them in and easily mix together. When liquids are different temps and thicknesses they do not mix as easily.

ooo that’s an interesting idea. I definitely have to try doing a dirty pour with glitter and see what happens.😮

The only thing that coaster is missing is a silhouette of a palm tree and a good vibes quote. Perfect ocean sunset coaster. I can't pick a favorite.
The small round is stunning ❤ Great way yo clean the jug 😅

haha yesss so easy!😆
I think if you put the mold on a turntable and turned it a little while doing the pour with that multi-chamber cup you would then get a much more spread out distribution of the colors. Just the behavior of the colors in their far sides (outer chamber colors dominate) and the fluid dynamics.
Very pretty 😍 I like the pendants ❤

They’re…unique.😂😝
No way at all that these where fails! That coaster is legitimately so incredibly beautiful and delicate. I love the full set honestly. It is a shame that teal was mostly swallowed but at least the rest of the colors look stunning!
Maybe try pouring clear first. Might have a different effect but it's cool, resin just sticks to the mold once poured but with a clear layer added first it won't so much.
I would draw a scene on it .
There really pretty 😊
I think they're lovely. Quite 3-D! I wonder what would happen if you did only one color in mica and the rest in liquid pigment? Also, I love your tip about pre-mixing micas in a little alcohol. I wish more people knew about this. I see lots of beautiful art destroyed by those little clumps. Love your work❤

aw thankyou. Thats interesting I’ll need to try that. ☺️
i like them
the coaster kind of looks like a water color pic of a sunset over an ocean
i don't know if u have try to pour it clockwise rather and from the middle out may help get better results 😊
Whichever colors hit the mold first will take over the piece. Be careful with gold, it always tends to take over. Have fun experimenting. 😊😊

Ive noticed that gold can do that.😂 Whats to be the star of the show haha.
I just started watching you, I have learnt loads. I'm a total beginner and have just bought molds from Temu. I need to buy Expoy resin next, what's the difference between mica powder and the bottles of colours you just add two to three drops at a time, sorry don't know what they are called. Thanks Niall (Ireland) 🇮🇪
They are beautiful!! ❤ Did you top coat them? I think the inside of oyster shells look like that too. What a lovely combination of colors!!🌈

@@JBKonsCreations Sound like a good plan!
Mica is heavier than the pigment in alcohol ink, so the mica colors will sink to the bottom. To get the result you were looking for you'll need to use either all micas or all inks. Also, to get teal, you're actually going to want to put a yellow-toned green between the blue and the pink instead of teal, because anything with a blue tone will just get eaten up by the blue.
Very pretty. My favorite is the big square pendant. Ive been avoiding using a split cup because of the cleaning issue. How did you clean yours?

I just used tape. I plan to post a youtube short explaining how soon.😃
Can you get the feather pattern doing this?
Switch hands during pour maybe so colors don’t get one sided?
Coucou .. les petites pièces , j'aime beaucoup, mais la grande ... non ... En plus , il y a tellement de bulles partout !!!! Est ce que tu les laisses exprès ? Merci pour le partage 🙂
has an abalone look. i think it would be nice in the abalone colours to do your own mother-of-pearl
Those goofy things Never work with resin for no apparent reason believe me I have tried n tried... Maybe a super thin Resin would help with the bubbles!?? Good luck 🍀🍀🤞 🤞

its my first time using it so it definitely was an experience!😂
I don't think you should do mica & liquid coloring mixed in a dirty pour, one or the other all the same would not only set up differenly but drying time would be equal..does that make sense?

@@JBKonsCreations That's awesome! I just started making things with resin for fun! It's an interesting thing. I'm excited about my Temu heat gun haha!
I disagree on the coaster! Those colors on the other side look incredible, it's like a sunrise over mountains imo
I think that the blue was too much and that you should have left that one clear
