Diri Baba thumb, Three-meter Headstone, Nabur village, and Pir Abdulkarim | Azerbaijan Travel Vlog

Tomb of the Diri Baba
The decorative inscription separating the floors of the tomb contains the following information about the date of its construction: "It was built in 805 AH (1402 AD) by the order of #Shirvanshah Sheikh Ibrahim."
Located near the caravan road connecting Shirvan to neighboring countries, Diri Baba attracted the attention of many travelers. In the 1930s, the ambassador of the Holstein embassy from the Kingdom of Iran, Adam Oleari, the Dutch traveler (who passed through Maraza in the late 17th century), Cornelius Devrin, and other travelers wrote about the monument in their travel notes and even painted a picture of the tomb. It should be noted that in these paintings the description of the tomb is shown as complete. However, over time, the monument has changed its appearance. In the 17th century, special officials from the Russian Empire came to check some information about the monument and studied the monument in their area of interest.
In the 19th century, Russian academician B. Dorn was also interested in the monument on the instructions of Y. Bartholomew, one of the researchers of the ancient past of the Caucasus.
Well-known scientist Mashadikhanim Nematova conducted research on this tomb. Mashadikhanim Nematova writes that the stone inscription of the tomb is kept in the museum called Hermitage in Petrograd. There is no information about the identity of the Holy One buried in the tomb.
There are various legends about the origin of the name of the monument. Thus, it is noted that the person buried in this tomb was a Sufi sheik Baba. According to one legend, the sheik spent the last days of his life in a cell, worshiping. While reciting the divine words from the Bible in his cell, he came to the world of truth, but his disciples learned of him a few days after his death. In other words, although Sheikh Baba died, he "survived" for several days. For this reason, after the tomb was built over the tomb, it was called the Tomb of the Living Father.
#Turkish traveler #Avliya #Chalabi, who lived in the 17th century, wrote about Diri Baba while traveling to Maraza:
"In Pir Marizat #Sultan's apartment, we visited this humble. Although Pir is called" Marizat ", it is also called" Pir Marza "and" Pir Mirza "among the population. It is popular in Iran and Turan. However, the word "Marizat" means "wrapped" in the Persian language. . Mubarak's head is standing on a rock of Sövmen. His body is still fresh and not rotten like white cotton ... ”
Nabur village
According to the treaty signed between the # Ottoman Empire and #Russia on December 12, 1727, in the village of #Nabur near #Shamakhi, the Russians occupied the territories of Javad, Salyan, Sheshpara, and Rustov. The western part of #Azerbaijan remained in the hands of the Ottomans. This agreement is historically called the "Treaty of Nabur".
The name of Nabur is connected with the name of "Nabur" tribe of "Zulqadar" tribe. A #village of the same name has been registered in Armenia.
The population is about 5,000 people. #Mugam master #Alim Gasimov, Major-General Abdul Khaligov was born in this village.
The main occupations of the population are cattle breeding, sheep breeding, agriculture, and partly beekeeping.
