Tawkaii my summer break started about an hour ago

When I saw this a few years ago it was a revelation. I didn’t realize you could whittle with a bandsaw. Fabulous.

I have a genuine appreciation for this individual’s craftsmanship. It’s bad ass wooden spoon! I also have a great appreciation for antique craftsmanship that produced these instruments without modern tools! Blows my mind in either regard.

It would be more dangerous with the machines to wear gloves because the fabric can get caught and pull the blade into your hand. But I agree that with the other hand tools it would have been safest to wear protective gear.

Wooden cooking utensils aren't stained or varnished because it could flake off into the food, which would essentially be poisoning whatever it is you're cooking.

Wooden spoons and boards are soaked/polished with cooking oil not varnish. Oil acts as a natural protectant to the wood without shedding toxic chemicals.
