Bands of outlaws roam the abandoned highways turning pallets into practical art pieces. A man's life is worth only what he has left in spray glue and blue tape. It's a desperate time. A lone figure steps from the shadows wielding a white chainsaw. Holding it aloft menacingly he says something at triple speed you can't quite make out, and then produces the most lovely end table out of an old stump. As he walks away, a young girl tugs on her fathers pant leg and says "Who was that man, Daddy?" With a gleam he looks down and replies, "That man, sweetie? That man is Jimmy Diresta."

If you don't have a CNC, you can etch copper with a permanent marker and ferric chloride (found at jewelry store). Draw on the copper sheet with the marker, then let it soak. Ferric chloride will eat away what isn't colored.

Luke S. would you get a deep and cleen enough etch with ferric chloride?

  • @lukes.5726

You can get a very clean etch, photo quality. They make a photo transfer paper called PNP Paper where you can transfer black and white images on to copper. The ink is a resist and the acids etches the blank spaces. There are two types of solutions you can use: ferric chloride or an easier to get solution - one part muriatic acid (used in pools) and two parts hydrogen peroxide. The depth of the etch depends on the time the copper is left in the solution.

wayn3w Use a bone folder. It may not be as smooth on larger shapes, but you can get some really nice lines. Just make sure to put a piece of scrap over what you're embossing so you don't leave shiny marks on the surface.
