March 2024, and we still talking about it. Most mesmerising Halftime show ever, almost mystical.
I'll never forget the purple lights hitting the rain during Purple Rain. It's rhe kind of stuff that cannot be planned or manufactured. It was magic
"Could you make it rain harder?" Still number one on my list of the most badass things any performer has ever said.
It is the best half time show, never will there be one better. He could have just done a medley of his hits but chose to include other great songs. Not to mention that guitar solo with that curtain.👍
I never liked Prince ever. When I saw that performance, it didn't made me a fan but it made me gain an enormous amount of respect for him and made me understand what his fans saw in him. That performance was electric.

I used to arrange press conferences for a living and I can tell you Princes press conference for the nfl halftime show was the best and most effective one Ive seen. It had the desired effect on a very cold media room. It goes without saying it was a fitting harbinger of the excellence that was to follow at Princes half time show. He was SO smart and SO talented.
Do yourself a favor and go watch it again.

I don't always watch the SB halftime shows. But, I watched that one and was blown away by Prince and The Rain. It's similar to Whitney Houston singing the national anthem. That's the bar for the national anthem & the halftime show and i doubt that anyone will ever reach that bar , for either.

I'm definitely blessed to have been there from the very beginning 8-TRACK years of PRINCE ROGERS NELSON creativeness...equally I witnessed him LIVE several times live in concert *(DIRTY MIND) my personal PURPLE RAIN long before the storm of fair weather fans, CONTROVERSY, 1999, PURPLE RAIN ☔, LOVESEXY 88, MUSICOLOGY ESSENCE FESTIVAL APPEARANCE etc.
The Bears should have won that game. This was a solid consolation prize.
Adversity is only an opportunity to achieve true greatness.

Everyone saying that was the best halftime show ever. Maybe. But I can tell you that performance wasn't even close to Prince's best on his own. So hopefully, this halftime show will be your doorway into checking out the most superior live performer ever.

Was thinking the same thing when Don said Prince gave the performance of his life.
Really feels good as a Bears fan to know I'll hear about this GD halftime show every 15 minutes for the rest of my natural life. Really pairs well with being a Braves fan and hearing about how the '91 Braves-Twins series was one of the best ever every single October.
If they were really smart, they would have released that performance as a home video by now
