@@thegreyman Think of it this way: in 1968 standard comic books from DC, Charlton, and Marvel generally cost 12 cents. A candy bar, or a can of soda pop, cost 10 cents or 15 cents. So to the target audience that DC was directing this contest to, $5.00 was a lot of money.
