Most underrated straits song

Knopfler isn't underrated but IMO the "Communique" album was panned mercilessly by critics at the time. It is a damned fine album with songs such as this being proof.

To anyone watching this, you have an amazing taste in music! :) No one like Knopfler out there today.

The precision and melancholic cry Mark gets out of that guitar is heaven.

Knopfler is surely the best guitarist in this world! Look at the fingerpicking style and his professional stage dominance! He has an unique guitar voice which you could easily recognize from miles away :)

Genius, is a word often used. Mark Knopfler definitely is one.

Knopfler really is a guitar genius. This is when the band were still raw, I'd love to have seen them then.

what a chance to have grown up with this music and the early concerts... when afterwards it was chasing Bootlegs from the live concerts. ha ha Had to chance to see them live in 79 and 81... Tried to get into the later Knopfler concerts, but living in Asia... Knopfler never came to this region... Not sure Down the road will be his last concert tour though... What I prefer most is, how humble Knopfler has remained all over the years. Nice memories on his music, just love his talent to create brilliant songs and his lyrics are often outstanding ...

This is Dire Straits at their very best.

I believe this song in particular is the best "live" performance I have ever seen. It is actually better than the studio version...especially the ending.

communique is by far the most underrated album from the band. i cannot believe songs like these never get brought up when mentioning dire straits's best. beautiful album and song.
