Dipnetting Alaska's Copper River Red Salmon | 2022 Meat Run |
in this video we make a trip down to the Copper River to catch our Red Salmon for the year. We had an extremely awesome trip with over 100 Red Salmon caught and 2 kings in less then 3 hrs. We are allowed to keep 65 fish for our family which we did in record time. We hit the run just right and limited out in under 3 hrs. Plus bonus video I take my family up to the HOO DOO Mtns for a fresh salmon dinner date

Can't say enough good things about this video!!! I think about how isolated and separated a lot of families are these days. So awesome to see a bunch of hard working people all putting positive energy towards a common good.
Fun video! Enjoyed your family working together and you are an awesome Dad the way you take care of the family. KC Don 😉
This was awesome! My late husband and i moved up here in 2015, and dreamed of doing this, unfortunately it didnt happen for him, his health turned bad and he took his heavenly journey in 2020. I am now 69, and to old. I have hoped i would find someone to proxy for me, but that has not happened either. I have had friends gift me some, but, i didnt get the limit. No better way to eat fish than fresh right out of the river. You and your family are blessed.

Sorry to here about your husband wish you guys could have experienced it together. Hopefully you can find someone to proxy for you that has figured it out, I usually watch the fish count and wait for the water to drop from a high level and go mid week. Glad you liked the video
That spot consistently produces lots of fish at high water. Great job! I love watching this video during winter time when I can reminisce about fishing in the summer.

What a KULE video! Great family.
Great episode, very nostalgic for me.
nice job scotty! my folks use to take us to that same spot growing up. We called it the red hole because the mass amount of reds we use to get there.
Wow what a fishing trip. You got yours so quick. The fillet s look awesome. Oh, why you didn’t save domes of fish parts to take home and cook for the dogs. You cook it until the bones are mushy and the dogs would have a fantastic meal. Just saying. I would love to have some fresh salmon to eat. I order mine from there sometimes and it was delicious. Enjoy you harvest and a job well done to all of you. I’m glad everyone was safe. Love your videos and will keep watching. Bye for now from Central Alabama.
Epic adventure! Nice to see you bleeding the fish as soon as you can. Looking forward to the smoking and canning vids.

You guys killed it!
Awesome video guys and ladies!!! Oh being able to fish for salmon definitely has to be a treat for sure!!! Plus getting to eat them no fresher than being able to catch them and then clean them and then cook them write on shore or even in the mountains just has to be the best ever!!! I definitely no that I absolutely love salmon but living in Iowa they just are no as fresh as you all get to experience!!! Some day we would love to be able to go catch some and do a shore lunch just so that we can get the true flavor of salmon!! Definitely looked like a blast to do also and being able to catch all the fish that you are allowed in under 3 hours has to make it that much more fun also!!! Awesome video once again!!! Remember keep up all the hard work buddy!!!
Looks fun great job thank you for sharing

What size nets do you use, i hope to fish up there next summer and i was thinking in the fast water that the 5’ nets people use down on the Kenai might be too big. Any thoughts? Do you have a manufacturer that you prefer?
@diyalaskanlifestyle
Жыл бұрын
I’m not sure the diameter of the nets I have, but you are right the big ones they use on the kenai wouldn’t work that great in my opinion. I like the ones that our sold at frontier outfitters in fairbanks they have the blue poles that come apart in 6’ lengths which makes it way easier to get down to the water in the canyon. I try to always use a harness or at least be tied to a rope. I

I like it does pretty much everything I need it to do. The only time It’s been underpowered was when I was using it to pull he 1000’s up a hill that were fully loaded with moose. and that why i fish at ship creek cause this is for easy people not to hurt ya but i rather use rod and spinner or eggs.
I cant wait to go salmon fishing when i get up there. I've noticed the amount of fish you caught. Isn't there a limit on salmon? Or is there a special license you can buy to catch more?

Yes I’ve seen bears opening coolers and taking fish on more then one occasion. I’ve also had bears not want to get more then a few ft off the trail when trying to pass on a wheeler. Nope and this is personal use tag if I wanted the subsistence tag it is something like 300. If you want to see something that should be illegal look up trawler bycatch
it's uphill climb when you have your harvest and it's dangerous due to their weight and tag line must be worn for your safety..
