Dave Lovesshoes well I think it would work because I don't think there is a waterproof coating and hes had said before that synthetic dyes take better to rubber and glue and that natural dyes take better to leather and natural materials like cloth and wool

Dip them 3 more times maybe that will darken them more.

1400/800 They’d have to be darker to be pirates, maybe if he dyed once more. My friend just traded some boots for them and they’re a lot darker in person

@@heskicks all you need is a couple of paint brushes, and the paint/thinner. A blow dryer or heat gun. I'd say it be easier than you trying to dip-dying over and over again.

I could see this being an actual colorway if the upper was more consistent with the gray and a little cleaner around the midsole

You shouldnt clean it right after dying because thats when all the color goes away. You should let them dry for 24 hours and then wash them.

Exactly how mine turned out too. Super easy, I love them. No worries about getting them dirty at all.

Thanks for this custom Hes! I have a pair of Zebras that have really yellowed soles and was trying to figure out a custom for them! This seems like a great idea to try out!! As for this black pair you did, maybe try a mixture of Angelus Black and GAC900 softener to paint the upper! They’ll look dope all blacked out!

I did the same with my V2s. I tried dying them 2 more time with the synthetic dye and still came out the same. I used the all-purpose dye with red and blue mixed in and came out a bit darker.

The outsoles look great but I would hit it with a can of black DASCO suede and nubuck reviver used to redye tierd suede, and then use a can of waterproofer like Reshovenator or whatever, in short, those YZYs will become jet black and stain protected.
