So being the true southern gentleman that his mother raised him to be. Elvis drives the girl to the local hospital, takes her to the emergency room, and leaves her there and then drives off. and yet nobody can say anything bad about him.

In so very many stories I hear about Elvis Seems like he did everyone he met some kind of favour, helped them or gave them a special gift, and they always talk about him with great affection. What a great humanitarian he was.

Yep. I say this all the time. People talk a lot over the years about him giving away cars or jewelry he was wearing, but like you mentioned, he was doing far more. (Not to mention the charitable organizations he also gave to). There were many celebrities like Dionne with stories like this.... Elvis giving of himself. Probably the most beautiful part about the man.

When I was a kid in the early 70's a neighbor of mine went to a car dealership to see Elvis. Of course there was a big crowd. She was poor and I assume looked so. I didn't witness this myself but the talk of the neighborhood got around to me. But Elvis saw her and asked her if she wanted a car. He gave her a Cadillac. Now all the talk around the neighborhood was just a rumor. But how she got that Cadillac was a mystery.

I have been watching many videos about celebs and their interactions with Elvis and without fail, they all say he was kind, generous and polite to a fault. Wonderful to hear them speak of Elvis this way.

It's really sad there are some people who thought this and didn't know any better. He could not be further from the idea of a racist. He absolutely loved all people. There are so many wonderful first hand stories of Elvis defending all races. When his own daughter was born he was actually sad for all the other kids, specifically minorities, who would not grow up as privileged as her. He absolutely cared for all people.

It sounds like Elvis treated everyone the same, whatever their race or background. Whether someone was a fellow celebrity or just an ordinary person, he was courteous and generous.

What I remember most about Elvis was the way he loved his parents, Esp his Mama. He died when I was 9. I remember walking from the library saying in my head Wow Elvis Presley died.

@@johnfulton4061 Yes the great opera diva is a first cousin from the Drinkard side of the family. Whitney was very close to Leontyne and wanted to record with her and eventually sing live with her. There is a documentary with Cissy Houston talking about all the singing talent that runs in her family. All of her brothers and sisters had great voices as the Drinkard Singers. Dionne and Whitney said that Cissy taught their generation how to sing with their full voices and was a tough task master. This is why they are so great.

A lot of people won’t like hearing this, but I’m glad Dionne shared this story. If she bashed Elvis for 2 minutes straight in this interview like Ray Charles did, I bet it would go viral on Twitter and TikTok. Since Dionne speaks positively of Elvis in this interview, many people will just ignore it.

Presley by most accounts was a truly warm, kind man. And I personally believe that to be true. However That does not erase the TRUTH about what Ray Charles in regards to Presley as an entertainer. Charles was spot on about that. No hate.

@@c.ostriker5572 Elvis had black fans in real time and his music was very popular with the black community before his reputation was ruined. Not everyone felt the same as Ray Charles, Darlene Love spoke positively of Elvis and defended him against the stealing accusations.

Dionne was a legend in the 60s. I grew up listening to her. Of course into the 70s her fame was not as high but she could still turn a hit. I'm not surprised at all that she liked & admired Elvis, everybody did.

Like Diana Ross and the Supremes. A Frank Sinatra or Sammy Davis...the list goes on and on. Each generation has it icons and Superstars. Those of us in that generation will remember. Actually Dionne could be older enough to be my mom or a younger grandmother. I know there is no voice that sounds like hers. Each generation will have their icons and superstars. Only the people that put in the hard work like Priscilla Presley did and still does to make sure the younger generation remember who Elvis was and is for his legacy to continue. Everyone doesn't have that kind of commitment in their family to keep the name going. But for her generation Dionne is a Superstar. 🙌

I been learning and hearing so many great stories about Elvis Presley how generous and kind he was to people. He came from very humble beginnings and he never forgot where he come from and always tried to give back to those less fortunate or in need. Challenge them to show you one single person who knew him who had a bad thing to say. Even ex-girlfriends all said how kind and caring he was. I've yet to hear one negative word from anyone who actually knew the man. And that is remarkable!!!

Love Dionne Warwick - always a Class act. Anyone who is a fan of hers will have read her excellent and very enlightening autobiography "My Life, As I see It" published in 2010 in which THIS lovely video-clip story is also included. The Sweet Inspirations actually evolved from a group called The Gospelaires which Dionne formed as a teenager with her sister in 1957 & of which Myrna Smith & Estelle Brown were also former original members. Another connection Dionne shared with Elvis is that her former husband, actor & drummer, the late Bill Elliot appeared with Elvis in his final scripted movie "Change of Habit in 1969. Her memoirs is a great read !

The only people who hate on Elvis are people who know nothing about him. Vertually everyone who met him have glowing affection for him. He did so very much in many different ways for charities, fans, family, friends and even complete strangers, even as a pennyless child. I think he felt it was almost his mission in life to help people. Don't let negative people bring you down!👍

So great to see the beautiful Dionne Warwick, I have always loved this wonderful artist, with a beautiful voice and impeccable style, I grew up with her songs and she is an American treasure, I play some of her tunes on piano and guitar, "Say a Little Prayer" always gets me as I'm a Vietnam veteran, also love "Windows of The World", maybe she could do some tunes with Joni Mitchell. You are deeply loved Dionne, come out more!!

So being the true southern gentleman that his mother raised him to be. Yep. I say this all the time. People talk a lot over the years about him giving away cars or jewelry he was wearing, but like you mentioned, he was doing far more. (Not to mention the charitable organizations he also gave to). There were many celebrities like Dionne with stories like this.... Elvis giving of himself. Probably the most beautiful part about the man.

When I was a kid in the early 70's a neighbor of mine went to a car dealership to see Elvis. Of course there was a big crowd. She was poor and I assume looked so. I didn't witness this myself but the talk of the neighborhood got around to me. But Elvis saw her and asked her if she wanted a car. He gave her a Cadillac. Now all the talk around the neighborhood was just a rumor. But how she got that Cadillac was a mystery.

I have been watching many videos about celebs and their interactions with Elvis and without fail, they all say he was kind, generous and polite to a fault. Wonderful to hear them speak of Elvis this way.

It's really sad there are some people who thought this and didn't know any better. He could not be further from the idea of a racist. He absolutely loved all people. There are so many wonderful first hand stories of Elvis defending all races. When his own daughter was born he was actually sad for all the other kids, specifically minorities, who would not grow up as privileged as her. He absolutely cared for all people.
Everyone who ever met him said what a kind person he was, and oh so likeable.

What I remember most about Elvis was the way he loved his parents, Esp his Mama. He died when I was 9. I remember walking from the library saying in my head Wow Elvis Presley died.

@@johnfulton4061 Yes the great opera diva is a first cousin from the Drinkard side of the family. Whitney was very close to Leontyne and wanted to record with her and eventually sing live with her. There is a documentary with Cissy Houston talking about all the singing talent that runs in her family. All of her brothers and sisters had great voices as the Drinkard Singers. Dionne and Whitney said that Cissy taught their generation how to sing with their full voices and was a tough task master. This is why they are so great.

Presley by most accounts was a truly warm, kind man. And I personally believe that to be true. However That does not erase the TRUTH about what Ray Charles in regards to Presley as an entertainer. Charles was spot on about that. No hate.

Dionne was a legend in the 60s. I grew up listening to her. Of course into the 70s her fame was not as high but she could still turn a hit. I'm not surprised at all that she liked & admired Elvis, everybody did.

Like Diana Ross and the Supremes. A Frank Sinatra or Sammy Davis...the list goes on and on. Each generation has it icons and Superstars. Those of us in that generation will remember. Actually Dionne could be older enough to be my mom or a younger grandmother. I know there is no voice that sounds like hers. Each generation will have their icons and superstars. Challenge them to show you one single person who knew him who had a bad thing to say. Even ex-girlfriends all said how kind and caring he was. I've yet to hear one negative word from anyone who actually knew the man. And that is remarkable!!!

Love Dionne Warwick - always a Class act. Anyone who is a fan of hers will have read her excellent and very enlightening autobiography "My Life, As I see It" published in 2010 in which THIS lovely video-clip story is also included. The Sweet Inspirations actually evolved from a group called The Gospelaires which Dionne formed as a teenager with her sister in 1957 & of which Myrna Smith & Estelle Brown were also former original members. Another connection Dionne shared with Elvis is that her former husband, actor & drummer, the late Bill Elliot appeared with Elvis in his final scripted movie "Change of Habit in 1969. Her memoirs is a great read !

The only people who hate on Elvis are people who know nothing about him. Vertually everyone who met him have glowing affection for him. He did so very much in many different ways for charities, fans, family, friends and even complete strangers, even as a pennyless child. I think he felt it was almost his mission in life to help people. Don't let negative people bring you down!👍

I met Ms. Warwick at the Apollo Theater un Harlem. She so kind and approachable. She and Elvis would have been good friends I'm sure
i wish these people had come out early so tht the black community can understand him, instead of saying he stole black music.. sounds like he did more for black people and promote them in their craft or give them hope and inspirations!!!
