I was smiling all through the song from beginning to end 😂

His VOICE.... but that beautiful melanin. .. his skin is flawless... I Luv ❤️ it 🥰😍

Dionne could sing any song and once she added her flare it was instant gold. I can also see where Whitney got some of her stage presence; the way she held her hands and moved her fingers and shoulders and even toyed with her voice, it was much like her cousin Dionne. Both exceptionally beautiful singers.

Dion Warwick must be one of the greatest singers ever. She's so versatile with her usual personality written or over her performance. Barry White the sexirst voice a rich combination. Awesome.

Barry looked so comfy and confident with Dionne handling his classic tune with style and grace. He just gushed over the finishing touch she placed on it at the end. Luv it. They should have done a studio version of this: would have been exponentially better than his duet with Lisa Stansfield.

I was really young when these shows aired, but my family was so musical, it was almost required watching. I do remember knowing Dionne Warwick cd slay any song that cd be presented on the show. And that's apart from being the longest and most experienced host.

This is Michael Miller (the musical director of Solid Gold and the arranger of this duet). It was definitely one of Dionne’s very favorite duets that she ever did on the show, and, just so you are aware, “her backup singers” actually included herself. The background vocal recording sessions that we did with Dionne, Darlene Love and Eunice Peterson a few days before the taping days were some of my very favorite experiences from the entire run of the series We always had lots of fun doing those vocal sessions after we pre-recorded the backing tracks with the band. At the tapings, Dionne and the cohosts always sang live to the pre-recorded backing tracks that we went into the recording studio to create a few days prior. Anyway, glad you enjoyed the outcome of this particular one!

I use to love "Solid Gold" back in the 70's and 80's. At the time that this show aired I had just entered the Navy at age 19. Dionne and Barry were an unlikely pair as far as I'm concerned but they sound good together. They don't make music like this anymore. 70's and 80's music was the best imo.
