Dinosaur World VS Dinosaur Island Rawr N Write | A JURASSIC PARK SIZED Board Game BATTLE & Review
Love the Steven Spielberg Jurassic Park films or even the newer Jurassic World films with Chris Pratt, well Dinosaur World and Dinosaur Island Rawr and Write are two board games that have you running and operating your very own dinosaur sized theme park.
Note: A review copy of both games were provided by the publisher.
Thoughout both games players will be drafting dice, using basic and advanced DNA to craft and create their favourite dinosaurs. They will be building a range of different attractions Rollercoaster Tycoon style and they will be enhancing their park security so that when they take their visitors on a tour of their park, they hopefully won't get eaten!
In this video we will be looking at how to play both games as well as comparing their mechanics, theme and merits to see which of these dinosaur sized games is the best one!

Reminiscent of games like Suburbia, Carcassone and Takenoko, Dinosaur World uses a series of hex tiles to help players layout their dream park.
Similarly, games like Cartographers, Rawr and Write is all about snake drafting dice and using them as workers to create a labyrinth of pathways and enclosures for their guests to visit.

Another AWESOME video!! I really appreciate the way you break it all down and systematically compare the two! They both look like FANTASTIC games!! If my husband was more of a gamer I’d probably go for Dinosaur World but because I’m the only Gamer I’m leaning towards the Rawr and Write because it has the solo mode 😊 Great Video!! 😊😊

Have you played Dinosaur World, Dinosaur Island, Duelosaur Island or even Rawr n Write? What are your thoughts on both games. Do you prefer the size of Dinosaur World or the compact nature of Rawr and Write. I would love to hear your thoughts! :)
I agree with you, I prefer Dinosaur World. I just love the jeep actions and I replaced the boredom tokens with dice like you did which made for smoother gameplay. Also I suggest when playing these games, play the Jurassic Park soundtrack in the background to make for an epic experience. Thanks for the awesome video comparison!

I have both but only had time to try Rawr & Write so far and had a lot of fun with it, hoping to give Dinosaur World a try this month.

If you know how to play Rawr and Write, learning Dinosaur World is hopefully pretty easy as they are similar games in terms of phases etc..
Where did you get those colorful dice? I'm US based but hopefully there are some good options as the ones I saw on BGG forums were very meh.

For the boredom dice, I think I used the Chessex dice range which has the two colours swirled in them which are featured in the video. I hope that helps! I do often find there are some game shops with dice buckets where you can pick your own dice, but mostly if you want fancy custom dice, probably online is good place to start especially etsy :)
Loved your Dinosaur playing board games. I'm most interested in Dinosaur World but I have an unplayed Dinosaur Island at the moment. It's motivated me to play that so I can decide if I also need one or both of the others. Any opinions on which is better Dinosaur Island (original) vs Dinosaur World?

I actually haven't played Dinosaur Island, but from what I hear, Dinosaur World is apparently much better. I am not too sure that you need both. :)
