My take: humans came along long after dinosaurs died out. We may have fossils to understand what they looked and acted like, but we'll never truly witness them in their full glory. In that way, they are epic and mysterious creatures from a time long ago. Hence why we have such epic music about them.

This is the strange thing about nostalgia, it's not always glamorous. This sound gives me very strong nostalgia that almost makes me want to tear up. About nine years ago I was working in my new career, not making very much money. I lived in kind of a crappy apartment. I was single and no kids. I was actually pretty lost. I didn't have any money to get cable and this was slightly before streaming was a thing. So I had nothing but DVDs to watch on my crappy TV. My buddy gave me some of his throwaway movies. Dinosaur was one of them. I actually didn't even like the movie at all. But one specific day I had the flu and I watched it. I was so bored at home, and the intro screen was playing over and over and over again, and I was too sick to get up and take the DVD out. So the intro song played probably 100+ times, and the memory is engrained in my head. Now I make great money; I have a wife and a daughter and a house; I like my job way better now. The world is overall a better place now...but for some reason, that memory makes me miss those old times from 2010. It's like I wish I could have it back just to enjoy it, just to re-live it and appreciate how great it really was. I don't know. This song just really sticks with me.

At around 1:40, you can hear the Chorus chanting, "Aladar!" As a reference to the movie's main character. This is a lovely piece of music, and certainly captures the scene in which we are given a huge number of dinosaurs in the background, all animated wonderfully and accurately with CGI. This is truly by far one of the most underrated and scientifically-accurate dinosaur films ever devised, and is certainly superior to 'Walking With Dinosaurs 3D.'

Timeless yet ephemeral at once. The majesty and memory of a world that can never be again. Energetic, powerful music, matching the visuals perfectly. If only we could witness the real thing. Nostalgia flows not only for the film, but for all that it portrayed, all that once was, long gone. Echoes through Deep Time resonate for eternity; recalling the bittersweet grandeur of the Mesozoic. This was always a favourite from the soundtrack. It gets the respect for the Dinosaurs so right.

The Egg Travels track is the best track of the Dinosaur film and soundtrack, Next to soundtracks of Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Jurassic Park III, and Jurassic World. Would't it have been really awesome if this exact same track was used for a trailer of Jurassic Park sequal that I came up with called "Jurassic Park: Escape" starting at 1:39 for the middle of the theatrical trailer and also for the arrival at the island scene of an airplane flying and the heards of herbivorous dinosaurs scattering all over the fields starting at 1:20.

My take: humans came along long after dinosaurs died out. We may have fossils to understand what they looked and acted like, but we'll never truly witness them in their full glory.

This movie has one fo the best soundtracks in Disney

I first remember seeing a teaser trailer for this underrated classic on a Tarzan VHS! 🦕🦖🐒

It’s almost appalling how underrated this film is. Everyone just hisses and cries about it’s story being somewhat similar to Land Before Time but don’t possess the brain capacity to appreciate actual beauty. I actively lose brain cells reading their comments but this movie’s soundtrack alone restores and multiplies them. W + ratio.
Black Panther: This part never gets old 1:28

The Egg Travels track is the best track of the Dinosaur film and soundtrack, Next to soundtracks of Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Jurassic Park III, and Jurassic World. Would't it have been really awesome if this exact same track was used for a trailer of Jurassic Park sequal that I came up with called "Jurassic Park: Escape" starting at 1:39 for the middle of the theatrical trailer and also for the arrival at the island scene of an airplane flying and the heards of herbivorous dinosaurs scattering all over the fields starting at 1:20.

kristof gergely The only one who wasn't was Bruton. I've just come from his death scene. That character actually had some depth.

This is music inspiring to journey and adventures.
This scene always brings a smile to my face and chills :)
If there is one musical score that perfectly encompasses everything magical about Disney it’s this.
You can just feel the nostalgia
😁 Saludos! 👋 Mauro Andrés. Estudiante de Medicina.
I remember as a little kid, my aunt would put this on for me and my cousins to watch and we always enjoy watching it. Along with the Toy Story movies, and those great or dumb family movies. Today as a teenager, I only watch it once, each and every year and there is gonna be a day where I'll stop and show it to my future kids. Despite the violent pair of carnoataurs.
A forgotten childhood gem
Anyone listening to this in 2021 after 20 years ? My childhood was awesome!

This definitely brings back so many memories from this Dinosaur Movie of all times!!!!!!! 😃😊😊😊😊💘😉
I love the Disney movie Dinosaur! This is my favorite Disney movie!
Cruising down the freeway at 80 mph, listening to sound on blast is the highlight of my errands. 🌹
My childhood movie:)really missing those days😧😔❤
This is the movie that got me really into dinosaurs. Oh and yes, the CGI from this is still better than jurassic world

"None of us know what changes big or small await us; but something is certain: our journey is not over. We are left with the hope, that some small way, our era will be remembered forever.".
The magic starts at 1:00. What a mesmerising , mesmerising music! What a music composer, James Newton Howard!
Still one of my favorite movies of all time. Soundtrack is amazing 😍
01:34 When Dinosaurs talking english better than me. Me:
i loved the 2 dinosaurs fighting over the egg, they sounded so funny
I feel like the advartisement lied to us in a way........look at the trailer compared to the film......the beggining gave us the good part no talking and they were animals telling a story without them talking.......but to tell the truth this is one of my fav musical scores EVER!

MikeG That's probably because the film was originally meant to be released without dialogue, but they later decided to add it.
Damn this track brings tears to my eyes.
this is one of the first movies i ever seen. have so much nostalgia with this movie. absolutely love this movie. too bad this is so underrated and never got a sequel.

+Indominus Reviews I completely agree! But then again, Disney is (sadly) notorious for crummy/ mediocreish sequels. Lately anyway. But yes, it really does deserve a sequel.

This should be your theme music Godzilla, when your standing at the rise of the sun in the morning, and then people start cheering you on! Don't you agree?
Well, time to to go out flying again....
While Dinosaur wasn't necessarily that memorable, its score certainly was. I cannot get OVER this score. It's amazing! I've remembered the beauty of it ever since the movie came out when I was younger, before I really had that much of an appreciation for movie scores.
eu assistia isso na minha infância (e ainda assisto) e com certeza irei mostrar para meus filhos essa obra de arte!!!
My favourite movies, Then, Now, and will Always be: • Dinosaurs (Walt Disney) • Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron (Dreamworks) • Ice Age, only the first one btw (Blu Rays)
Movie needs a sequel, atleast about Aladar's son and his adventures to protect the herd as his father once did.

paleface171 Then again, sequels don't always turn out bad. It depends on who does it. Dragon Heart, however, was just pushed for money.

Something tells it would've been another "Land Before Time" debacle. I may hold a soft soft spot for the first few sequels, but even then....

TyrannWright That sounds too much like a rehash, if it were to get a sequel(which i highly doubt it will) it would be better off as a continuation, which is hard to continue the story where the movie left off.

While it might have potential I think it's better with an open ending.
at 1:40 I cant tell if they are chanting "Dinosaur" or "Aladar" if they are chanting "Aladar" that makes it 10 times better like Omg!

alexano oneoone I was referring to CDHfilms' comment of him possibly mentioning walking with dinosaurs the movie since the theatrical version and Disney's Dinosaur (and Land Before Time to some extent) are pretty much he same movie. With that comparison, Dinosaur is far superior to that hunk of corporate diarrhea cash-in from Fox.
@Alexano101

BrontoSmilodon1 Fair enough. You tagged it on me, so, assumed it was to me. Land Before Time was well produced, and it was original. The first to use dinosaurs in that way. I cant recall anything similar before its creation.
Most underrated soundtrack ever!
