    So a lot of people have been asking why I didn't show the third ending for DC1. I do know about it (I might even mention somewhere in the video about there being "3 endings"?) but to be honest, until seeing people discuss it in the comments here, I had been under the impression that the helicopter endings were locked off by earlier branching choices in the game. But apparently, nope, all three of them can be achieved just from the final choice... seems like a bit of a cop-out if you ask me. But yeah, turns out I could have easily covered it too without having to go back and replay large portions of the game. My bad.

    I never even vaguely considered her "That's disgusting" line to be a bad read. It suited her character perfectly. Look, if you're sending in a squad of elite super-commandos on a secret mission like this, the people you send in are NOT going to be squeamish at the sight of blood. I really liked the way that line established from the beginning that she's the kind of person who isn't going to lose her s*** when people start dying around her.

    You didn't show it, but there is a 3rd ending to Dino Crisis 1. There's a locked path in the underground lab that opens up after the final decision branch. It leads to a helicopter in an underground hangar, and finding it locks you into Ending 3, where you extract Dr. Kirk, save Gail, and drop a napalm bomb on the T-rex as it chases you out of the hangar (in a cutscene, but eh.) Unlocking all the endings gives you an infinite ammo grenade launcher.

    Dino Crisis 2 in my eyes is an absolute masterpiece for the PS1, I can't tell you how many times I replayed it lol But anyway, I think the most exciting idea when thinking of a Dino Crisis remake is how like the Resident Evil 2 remake, they could look at expanding the game. New areas, puzzles, new enemies, and maybe even utilize current paleontology theories and knowledge and apply them to the dinosaur dinosaur designs. Imagine how awesome the (admittedly out of place) Therizinosaurus would look compared to how it looks in the game with our current understanding of how it would look now. Those scythe claws would be fucking horrifying. Also we could just change the "Velociraptor" to Utahraptor, Deinonychus or Dakotaraptor lol But either way, however it comes out, a Dino Crisis would be a literal dream come true

    In reality RE2 remake didn't expand on anything. They added one house which is the orphanage which again have nothing to do with the original game lore. They butchered RE2 to the point it is just another shallow-minded spin-off made by idiots for even bigger naive idiots so crapcom can just cash in. The sales say pretty much what this garbage is. It was down-priced just a week later and they offer "free" DLC to lure in more sales, which in the end for some worked and for many it wont because why would anyone bother to buy that garbage. And many refunded this game and some would like to refund it because crapcom promised a remaster/remake true to the original but this game is not even closely what they promised. They said this new game is more realistic while it is even worse then the original. It have laughable pathetic writing and scenes and logic made by a 10 year old. The only thing connected to the original are the character names everything else is butchered to death. So instead of wasting time to prove further the obvious NO! true fans don't want another stupid remake by crapcom that will just have poor sales again. Why invest into a toxic garbage? Makes no sense from a business standpoint. A pile of toxic shit with makeup on is still just a pile of toxic shit. And if you are into that I feel sorry for you. Also in reality theories are irrelevant. Instead solid proof is what should people be after.

    11:08 - the answer is actually quite simple when you remember that the key is to subtract the DDK from the CODE disc. In this instance, the DDK's contents are conveniently spaced out to align with certain rows of letters. Subtract the corresponding rows and you're left with "STABILIZER", which is exactly what's behind the door guarded by this particular DDK lock.

    You don't just overlook the third ending of the first game, you miss the point of what that ending represented. The third ending of DC1 is one of my favourite moments in all of gaming, it's an early example of a dev team truly empowering the player to make a decision that isn't spelled out to them, providing a sense of genuine agency that was very rare at the time. As you show in this video, the ending offers you a binary choice between saving a colleague and apprehending the bad guy, with no hint of any third option suggested. However, some players instictively rejected both the presented options, selecting the first from the binary menu but then carrrying out the second. You forcefully stop Gail from doing the stupidly brave thing, but then do it yourself instead. I remember being amazed that the devs had catered to a player choosing this hidden third option - the decision of the true hero who not only saves their fellow soldiers but then also is brave and stubborn enough to head back into the danger and complete the mission. It's the hidden gem at the core of DC1 that many players missed and there isn't anywhere near enough recognition of how novel and clever DC1 was for permitting that level of player agency.

    I did know the species of the Therizinosaurus before you said, but only cause I kind of cheated. See, when I was younger and my parents would take me shopping, I would always go to the videogame section and grab whatever guides they had and just read them, even if it was for games I didn't own on systems I didn't own. Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2 were my favorites because they were filled with profiles on all the dinosaurs and I loved all the artwork and backstory stuff. I loved the Dino Crisis 2 guide so much that when I eventually got a PS2 Slim years later, it was one of the first games I got. I actually remembered a fair bit from the guide too, which may have made the game a bit easier than it was supposed to be. Dino Crisis 3...man. I actually really wanted to play it once upon a time, because I actually thought all the space-dinos were cool (still do for a couple of them), but holy shit that gameplay looks custom made to piss people off. Also...it's Event Horizon. Like...wow. At [kzread.info/dash/bejne/hIGamcuRmdPfpZM.html](1:20:10) That big spinning reactor looks almost exactly like the Gravity Drive from Event Horizon. Combined with the test ship that disappeared suddenly reappeared filled with horrors, and you've got the bastard child of Jurassic Park and Event Horizon.

  • @oldspice051

    @oldspice051

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@tylerleach1833 But shouldn't they, if they're clones? I know the head scientist said they'd altered the DNA to make them more marketable (which is why the raptors look different than they'd actually look in real life), but I doubt making pterosaurs hunt larger prey would help with that. I also looked up pterodactyls, and they were a real thing. Pterodactyls were a genus of pterosaurs made up of only one member, the Pterodactylus antiquus that existed from the Hettangian age to the Valangian age; or in other words, between the early Jurassic and early Cretaceous periods.

  • @tylerleach1833

    @@oldspice051 Well actually, cannon websites give an explanation. You know how many pteranodons (also dimorphodons) were swarming around? Yeah turns out they had way too many and they weren't given enough food or water to support such a large amount of them. So when they broke out, they went to the biggest source of water they saw, which was the Mosasaur tank in the center of the park. Chance are the smell of food from restaurants and such also factored into that. Yes, but the keyword there is "were." There was a species called pterodactylus, but "pterodactyl" isn't really a term used in paleontology anymore.

    @@tylerleach1833 That's interesting, because it would explain why they were more aggressive in the movie. I didn't know about "pterodactyl" being less used as a term nowadays either. Thank you for explaining.

    To be fair, Regina's not in S.T.A.R.S. (cops doing rescue), she's in S.O.R.T. which is more like the British S.A.S. or black ops teams, which do jolly cheerful things like sabotage and "irregular activities" (kidnapping, assassinations, smash and grabs, etc.). And those guys are often a bit sociopathic ("I shot that insurgent 13 times because the magazine only holds 13 rounds"). Either that or, you know, they got one of the interns to do voice over and she was like "fuck this, I'm not paid enough to emote".

    What good would freaking out do? These guys have surely seen this shit before, and they of all people were sent here for a reason. These aren't greenhorn crayon-eaters, they're special forces. They're here to get shit done, not to gawk and cry over the corpses they knew they would probably find of people they've never met. That reaction was perfect and exactly what I would expect. It's my favorite line in any video game, ever. "Welp. I guess this is happening. Alright then. Moving on."
