Really appreciate this informed discussion. I live in a rural area and don't have access to good celiac care, sometimes I feel that I know more than my doctor. It's so important for me to take responsibility for my own health but I need access to experts. Thanks!

I don't live in a rural area and feel the same. They gave me a dietitian, and I knew more than they did.

In North Idaho where I reside there are a number of potential Celiac patients of Irish descent. My son is a confirmed Celiac. He lives in Washington state. I am untested although symptoms throughout my life now including ataxia. My other children have never been tested. I am sure my parents had it and also my brothers. One died at age 30 of colon cancer, the other had multiple sclerosis. Alcoholism is strong here. Many are mixed native American heritage her had multipl ; not tested for Celiac. I have been ignored or gaslighted by U S doctors and am now 88 years old. This is catastrophic.
