I'm viewing from New Zealand. Back in the 1960s/ early 70s i had many Dinky car toys. So it was cool seeing your village here. It was like a village back in say 1959/ 1960.

I love all the detail that you put into your layout and the 3D effect of blending the background with the actual layout. Very realistic! I wish that I had access to some of those small items that you included to bring life to your display, but unfortunately we are limited to these specialty items back here in the States. Thanks for sharing this video!

Thank you. But a lot of the items came from USA. The buildings are nearly all American. I had to import them to England.

Very nice diorama with a lot of fine details. All the different scence with tons of different cars, lorries and figures. I'm wondering that some of the vehicles do have glases/windows, other don't.

Thanks. Yes some have glass and others don’t. It’s how the toy manufacturers made them. Dinky toys up to 1956 never had glass. All Corgi cars did. So from 1956 Dinky copied Corgi and added windows. By 1959 they had detailed interiors too !

I’ve added a further 6 feet since the video was made. Currently under construction is a bigger Ststion area and goods yard. Local pub by the canal and canal barges with holiday makers. A windmill with holiday park beside and a roundabout on the roads with cafe and village hall opposite the signal box.

Dire need of some fun cars, a E Type, an Aston Martin , maybe an old Mustang. You never know who might pop round the village.

Sadly neither the E type or the Mustang could ever visit. The E type isn’t launched until 1961 and the Mustang late 1964. This village is still in 1959/60. We could see an early Aston Martin though ! 😜
