Interesting number plate decals: if the black on yellow ones are used on the back, the fronts should be black on white. If white or silver on black at the front, they should at the same on the back... F denotes a 1968 numberplate, the year after, if memory serves, that the white and yellow plates were first issued, so both were available. Small point, and a bit pedantic, but there it is. Terrific restoration as usual, and nicely detailed.

I worked at a Vauxhall dealers in the Late 70's we did repairs on Bedford CF and HA vans we had a CA Bedford come in for a repair it had a auxilery heater fitted I saw the manufacturer's name it was Adams & Gibbon Dunn st , Newcastle I worked for Adams & Gibbon Dunn st , Newcastle , the building was very old and the small upstairs was where the old radiator shop was , just a daft thought a bit of reminiscing LOL , nice job btw .

The actual Dinky one had a mechanism which retracted the fire hose back into the model. It was a very cool toy.

Beautiful Restoration

looks great, nicely detailed. :) I didn't know about the hose mechanism in the back and the axes in the door, theye are always amiss. most of these transit you find here are police and road service versions; I caught some mint and boxed. I have to look out for a firefighter version some day.

Tolle Arbeit mit dem kaputten Ford Transit! Das Ergebnis ist absolut sammelwürdig. Sehr schöne Arbeit, in der Lackierung wie auch der Wiederherstellung der fehlenden oder defekten Teile. Die Schiebetür sieht auch wieder perfekt aus, genau wie die Räder. Meisterliche Restaurierung, Paul. Gruß, Joachim Świetna robota przy zepsutym Fordzie Transit! Wynik jest absolutnie kolekcjonerski. Bardzo ładna robota, zarówno w lakierowaniu, jak iw renowacji brakujących lub uszkodzonych części. Drzwi przesuwne znów wyglądają idealnie, podobnie jak koła. Mistrzowska renowacja, Paul. Just stunning, Paul. I use Tamiya white putty, too. It has a fine grain andvwill srick to anything. The key, though, is your bloxk-sanding the roof to ptrpare it for finishing. What did you use as a mold for the windshield? It fitted perfectly. The working doors also fitted perfectly. Bravo!
