I love how she got "extravagant" at the end and spent $25 on the plant and candle but still ended up $45 under budget!

Mary did some porch decorating on a video if I recall correctly. But some spring/summer updates would be fun to see for sure.

Everything looks beautiful, but I think the picture of the flowers would have looked way prettier than the word "EAT"
I love how you used the metal canning insert as part of the decor....ingenious!!!
Would love to see this as a series. A great example of how beautiful someone can make their home without spending tons of money. Refreshing to not see all the consumerism we see in so many places. Thank you.
Decorating on a budget?! I love this idea. How often do most of us not decorate because things cost so much? This is so helpful.
Ok, so that's ridiculously good...lol! I see Mary picking up this round wire thing and I'm thinking "what the heck is that?" and here comes Mary creating a beautiful centerpiece for her buffet.
The idea of a clever and comfy room for under $200 made for good entertainment on this winter day. I'd love to see another room.
I don’t know if you do this when you open a can of paint, but I learned this from a professional painter. When you open the can, take a hammer and a appropriate size nail and put holes in the well at the top of the can the whole way around. Then, the paint will drip back into the can.

The table, chaire ,&the dresser &tray came out beautiful .I think paint is the answer to refreshing almost anything .I enjoyed this video so much and would love to see more like this!
“With paint, all things are possible.” ☺️ I know I’m late to the party, but I loved this too! I hope once you’re done with the cottages, you’ll be able to do this again. Or maybe even do it for the cottages?! Anyways, thanks for sharing your talent with us!! 🤍
You need your own show. Teaching how to make Beauty for Pennies. Some other stars dont budget....Its just a Blessing to see what you do Mary. Stretch a dime into a dollar.
Love this concept - please do more. I did this to a neighbors house she had just gone through a very nasty divorce and didn’t have much of anything to start her new life with. Her teenage son said all he ever one it was a nice house that he could bring his friends to be proud of. She saved up $500 in with I set out looking for resale on market place and charity resale shops not to mention a little bit of ingenuity they both got exactly what they wanted.

Love everything you do. It's the "Mary Touch" Yes to more challenge rooms!
Love the kitty having a bath in the background!
PLEASE MARY, I NEED LOTS LOTS MORE on your new ROOM CHALLENGE. This will be great on so many levels - educational, entertainment, budget friendly and different from so many other video channels. I love how you take us through all your shoping and design thought processes. How everything can also be done with other budgets and considerations. Also important recommendations on DIY equipment like paint. Keeping everthing tidy as you DIY in the home. I recognise all the hard work you do, even if you make it look effortless. The make overs with everything you do always increases the worth of each item. I do not just mean the monetary one of budget. But the real lesson worth of hardwork, setting/attaining goals, and improving the life/surrounding around you. It is great having you give us MORE MASTER CLASSES in the coming programmes.
I love this challenge! It really helps those of us who can't seem to bring a room together so easily! Thank you!
You could paint a rug and still have time to buy a chandelier. I love how much patience you have.
Wow, wouldn't the original rose picture go beautifully with the painted jars and roses. Can't believe another sign instead. Oh well, to each his own.

Yes that would have been beautiful as well!
This is helpful to those on a tight budget or just starting to furnish their home. It’s nice to see you can have something beautiful without going into debt.
Loved Mary’s smile as she started to remove the cushions from her “new” dining chairs. You can tell she’s so happy to be doing what she loves. It’s all beautifully done, Mary! Thank you for the inspiration. ~Debbie Z~
What you did with $155, I couldn’t have done with $500. Such a lesson to be learned that if you put your mind to it resourcefulness can be beautiful! Love the idea for a series

LOVE this...the whole thing! The challenge, the work, the end product....LOVE LOVE LOVE! You are always so uplifting to watch!
What fun it would be to see how you do every room on a budget. What a great way to show people that with a little time and on a budget they to can have a beautiful room.
So refreshing. Love how you gave life to the dark furniture

At the same time..that dark wood table & chairs was very nice..she paid a good price for them
Such a great idea for a series. I’m following along.
Love your four legged supervisor there as you waxed the chairs! So cute!
Great idea. I love how it came together! Those spindles on the sideboard would be perfect for a cute bunting/banner to celebrate the season, a birthday, or holiday. 😊
What a clever idea?? To put a whole room together on an extremely limited budget is fantastic!! It gives me hope as I redecorate several rooms in my home. Smiles...
What i do with Annie Sloan CP especially in a case like urs where u r using white do cover such a deep color is... I take a small amount of the paint put in a separate container and thin it out with water to make a thin primer coat and will do 1 or 2 passes with the "primer coat b4 using the full strength paint..that way the paint lasts longer and u end up with Full coverage
❤ Aw Mary…you are SO incredibly amazing to me in your gifted, creativeness! SO full of beauty and character! You are a great encouragement to me… Almighty God bless you…and your precious family…immeasurably! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Absolutely amazing!! I love watching all the Interior Designers on TV but Mary, hands down, you are magnificent! What a great challenge. I can't wait to see more!
Great idea! I think it's so fun to show others how to create "your" home and style without spending a lot or buying "new". Just an important thought process and skill.
The kitty cat was precious watching you. 🌸🌸🌸
I would love to see another video like this. One room at a time. Or a porch or a deck. This just looks like it was fun to do. Don’t be hard on yourself. The next one gets done when it gets done. Love it.
Lovely, the fabric was such a great find. And I love how you found napkins to match the buffet. Love the challenge idea.
That fabrik with scenes is called Toile de Jouy.
Sweet Mrs. Mary, this is such a great idea with everyone pinching pennies after 2020! I will be watching!
I love it all Mary.💓 I wanted to also let you know that before you paint anything make five nail holes on the center inner lip of the can where the lid rest on after closing it. This will allow the paint that spills over the can to go back into the can through the nail holes. The lid covers the holes beautifully. Can't wait for next Wednesday show.💓
I love the fabric with the chairs.
I love how kitty supervises while you sand.
Mary, you have done it again! You have the sweetest design sense. What a precious little dining room for a single gal’s first apartment. And you got so much for so little! In our area these items would have been at least double what you paid. Thank you for the inspiration.
I just love your vision. You find value and ideas for items people don’t need.
Loved your cat's attention to detail! "Purrfectly painted."
I would watch this series.
When you said you would do a whole room for $200 I thought you would never be able to do it. The result was so nice. I am impressed.
A tip for all . When I open a can of paint or stain. I take a nail and punch holes around the rim. It allows the left over to run back into the can and not stay in the rim. Plus it keeps it from running down the outside of the can. ❤
This is a great idea! Can’t wait for more videos like this one. The pieces all turned out great, but must say I would need to cover/fix the top of the dresser. Maybe just a table runner to cover the big bad spot....just me. More more please!
Unbelievable what you found and put together. The Green dresser is a fab find
I absolutely love everything.... but I would have kept the flower picture as is ❤

Me too! Loved the look and especially love your eye for a bargain and the possibilities. I also would have kept the flower picture as it was because the seat fabric and your colors ad added touches added pretty and cozy to the area. The EAT sign seems to me is more outdoor-like. Good to hear your thoughts on the Annie Sloan paint. I have been skeptical to use it because of the cost.
Genius Mary! Would love to see these challenges more often. You are such a gift.
I LOVE the room! My favorite is the mason jar rack rose display! I would have never known what that rack was for! Beautiful job!
As a single mother of 3 boys (now adults) I was always on a budget and furnished and decorated my home with resale items and paint and upholstery fabric. I still believe I could not do better with brand new. My home always was and does rival any store furnished homes.
Love your idea for the “Room Challenge.” I can’t wait to see what’s next .
Definitely more room challenges!
Love it!!! The dresser/sideboard was a find!!! Love that you didn't paint over the roses. Such a shabby picture ❤️! The fabric for the chairs! Your dining room turned out very lovely. CONGRATULATIONS on not spending all the money!!! Keep your eye open for the rug and chandelier!
I love it would defiantly like to see a series of this.

Beautiful as always, my husband and I furnished and decorated our home this way 34 years ago and still continue to today! You really don’t have to spend much to have a nice home!
That would match my kitchen so well! I love your work, and others I watch on you tube, but I have never seen a room come together in the EXACT thing I am wishing for. I hope to one day when we can all get back to work, to find some things just like this for my old farm house kitchen. Absolutely stunning
Love how you transformed the flower picture. You’ve got an amazing eye for what something could be. Well done
Such a great idea. Will be watching and do not want to miss anything.
I love this new series! It was great to watch you put the dining room together.
Mary Mary Mary, it all turned out GORGEOUS!!!! I to love the green color and the buffet decor and the roses .. ALL of it, EVERYTHING is GORGEOUS!!! Great job!!!🌿
Good job showing how practical it is “junk’n n fixin!”
Believe you do enjoy a challenge and would love to see more.
I wish my thrift stores had prices like that! I often see Dollar Store items at or above a dollar, makes no sense!! Great job, it turned out beautiful!! 😍
I just love the soft color of that dresser and how the napkins and accessories match it. So lovely!!
You are my best stress reliever! Just watching you paint or sand or upholster....it's so calming and gratifying.
Can't wait to see whatever you come with in the new series. Love the dining room.
Gorgeous, as always. I always look forward to Wednesdays when I know sweet Mary is posting. Love from Alabama.
Hi Mary! You are so amazing and inspiring! It would be fantastic to see a challenge series. You turn your thrift store buys into the greatest things and make it all look so easy! The dining room is lovely and the colors perfect. Thanks so much!!!
What a cozy spot. I can see how you will be enjoying that for years to come. Love the fabric you covered the chairs with. Way to stay within budget. Your thrift stores in your area are more budget friendly than ours.
I loved this! You’re a decorating wizard. I’ll be keeping my eye out for a canning jar rack thing now. I would love it if you continued this as a series!
Mary, another win! Love the idea of an ongoing series. I'm an artist with a studio but I paint furniture too and I get inspiration from you and your channel. White and pale colors brighten and cheer everything up, simple lines are elegant and easy to live with. Always happy for your growth and success!
That. Fabric. 😍 And at TWO DOLLARS?? That's a BFE. Best find ever! 😁
I know, I’m late to the party... I don’t know how I missed this video! Everything came out so incredibly beautiful! I loved the way you made sure your napkin color matched your “Sideboard/Buffet”. Something as simple as using the canning pot rack to hold painted mason jars for a elegant floral centerpiece it’s genius! I hope you don’t mind, I’m definitely going to borrow your idea! Please don’t worry, l always give credit where credit is due. Any of my family or friends who admires it, I will point them towards your KZread channel! I can’t believe you were nearly 25% under budget! Dearest Mary, your videos never cease to amaze me!
I literally just got done dry brushing a decorative ladder that used to be my kids bunk bed ladder that I turned into a decorative ladder which now I'm going to hang in my kitchen I also sanded it a little and I got inspired by some of the stuff you've done before

That is such a clever way to repurpose the bunk bed ladder.
I loved the colors white and soft green, all at a great price too. Looking forward to more of these type of videos.
Mary, that material you put on your new chairs is so nice and adds to the dining room decor. Good job! Donna xoxo
I loved this type of video. It's amazing what you can do with thrifted items and a little hard work.
I love the material on your chairs - and the pale green is nice also!

You did a beautiful job! I would love to see more of these.
The idea of making a series like this would be warmly welcomed by the DIY community! You have a talent for redesigning and it will be advantageous to use for all to see. You stuck to the budget with even having some money leftover. It all looks so gorgeous! I especially love the green display piece and added touches of pastel green decor items! You nailed it!
Absolutely loved this video and what you did. My how you inspire me. Thank you for all the time you put into what you do. You are one of my favorites. My how you bless us all. Bet you can't wait till spring and warm weather. I would love to see more room challenges.
this was so much fun , yes please do this more. The dining room was so pretty and buget was so unbelieveable, you did great.
Very cute Mary. I love the fabric, looks great on the white chairs. Always look forward to your videos. Seems like these days I'd much rather watch my favorite KZreadrs than anything else.
Love this idea. It shows how you can decorate and refurbish on a budget. Would love to see more like this.
I'd love to see you do more. My granddaughter will be purchasing her first home later this year or next and she will need plenty of ideas on how to make a home warm and cozy on a relatively small budget. These ideas will be invaluable to her. Do it again!
Oh this was a treat. I'd be happy to watch another installment for rugs and chandeliers or whatever you'd like to add. Thank you, Mary.
Love that you prove beauty doesn’t need to be expensive❤️
Love the idea of bag over hand when you spray painted. Look forward to your videos each week. Much love sent your way. Lord bless
LOVE this room challenge series. Wouldn’t it be fun to donate the entire room to a Habitat for Humanity house! I look forward to more of these.
We needed new furniture after many years and had everything planned, then we got a puppy...we will be shopping on a budget just to get through the puppy years.
I’d love to see your sisters art in your walls! Maybe she will give you a family discount 😂
You are a true inspiration! I love to watch you and all your lovely crafts and how you can refurbish the old items you find! Thank you❣️
Mary I can’t wait for the next video in this series! I read a few of the negative replies and I hope you don’t listen, don’t let them ruin a good thing. Your dining room is perfect, the picture would not have worked in this room and the table is exactly as it should be. Great job!
I love the way you put everything together.
Such beautiful and simple pieces put together make a beautiful setting. All for less than $200!! A little sweat & muscles power involved. Enjoyed. Have a blessed day.🤗🤗
What a bargain! Great shopping. The table and chairs turned out beautiful. I love the soft green cabinet as well as the small plates. It would be nice to have chargers under the plates as another color to break up all the white. I can see a gorgeous chandelier and a nice rug added. I’m sure you will be on the hunt. Thank you for sharing.
Watching you, relaxes me. I don’t do half as much as you do, you are such an inspiration!!!
