Im from Manila, napanuod ko both, Sinulog was all dancing and Fun, But once you hear the beat of Dinagyang grabe nkakagoosebumps. Halos maiyak ako kasi meron pala ganitong festival. Nakaka proud maging Filipino.

Dinagyang man o sinulog dapat may respeto parin sa isat isa.. napapansin ko lang kasi na masyado nang bully ang mga taga iloilo sa sinulog kasi kung fast paced choreography lang din naman ang usapan wala talagang panama yung sa kabila.. yun ang bentahi nila.. kaya nila inaatake ito. Pero sa kabilang banda maituturing ba ang Sinulog bilang Ang Pinaka Bonggang Fiesta ng Pinas ng walang kadahilanan? Di ba? At isa pang isa pa! when Dinagyang was born the STO NINO DE CEBU is there.. kaya sana naman bawas bawasan naman ng konti ang TALKSHITAN . Hehe

Been to maskara last year, sinulog and dinagyang this year. I'd say Dinagyang has the best light parade. Maskara has the best street party. Sinulog none👎 very disappointed

Sinulog has been awarded by various world renowned organization and the most popular and grandest Philippine festival. Your Dinagyang in IloIlo can't even hardly drawn competitors even from Negros. Unlike Sinulog where many competitors came from all Visayas and Mindanao.

Aside from these, what made Dinagyang an award-winning tourism event is on how the organizers and the local government organize this whole 9-day festival. @@jericramos4890 Maybe you've never been to these two festivals. Their costumes are completely different to each other. Even their both use ati, but the costume, the headdress, the colors are different. Another fact is that, making dinagyang costumes is harder than you think it is because it requires to be stronger and not easy to break because they are used for hardcore dancing and will be used 4 different times in a day. That's top-tier craftmanship right there!

For me I think these two festivals are unique sa kanikanilang aspeto. Yung isang group ng Sinulog na nag guest years ago sa Dinagyang, portrayed the fluidity and finesse of the dancers. Parang nanunuod lang ako ng sayaw ng mga Kastilang ninuno natin. Very graceful and enchanting with majestic costumes and background trumpets to boot. Meanwhile, Dinagyang is a tribal dance that portrays the Aetas of Panay and Negros islands. Kelangan maliksi at mabilis and drums would often associate warriors doing their ritual dance. Both is beautiful in their own right. Would love to experience Cebu during their Sinulog, in the near future.🙂

The way you talk is someone who seems like you haven't been to any SInulog. You feel so confidernt about yourself, yet I find you funny because 110% you don't know what you're talking about. Compare he visitors of both festivals and you will see why your title doesn't mean anything. Sinulog is the most visited not only by locals but by many foreign tourists. Many contingents or participants of the SInulog by the way are not all Cebuanos, some of them are from the different parts of the PH who participated in the said even. Say for example, this year's grand champion was from Surigao who bagged P2 Million grand prize, do you have like that? Is Dinagyang being participated by many contingents from all over the country? a BIG NO. i'm not defensive, I'm merely speaking facts here. You cannot accept facts, you're the one who cannot accept facts. Let the number of visitors of Sinulog speak for itself. We can't be called the grandest festival of the country for nothing. Do more research, and type the grandest festival in the country, you will find SInulog is the answer. The way you talk is someone who seems like you haven't been to any SInulog. You feel so confidernt about yourself, yet I find you funny because 110% you don't know what you're talking about. Compare he visitors of both festivals and you will see why your title doesn't mean anything. Sinulog is the most visited not only by locals but by many foreign tourists. Many contingents or participants of the SInulog by the way are not all Cebuanos, some of them are from the different parts of the PH who participated in the said even. Say for example, this year's grand champion was from Surigao who bagged P2 Million grand prize, do you have like that? Is Dinagyang being participated by many contingents from all over the country? a BIG NO. i'm not defensive, I'm merely speaking facts here. You cannot accept facts, you're the one who cannot accept facts. Let the number of visitors of Sinulog speak for itself. We can't be called the grandest festival of the country for nothing. Do more research, and type the grandest festival in the country, you will find SInulog is the answer. That's why I find you funny because you look so self-assured yet you couldn't be further from the truth. sobrang layo mo sa katotohanan. YOu should feel goosebumps for mispresentation and lying to yourself.

Dinagyang is really for men coz the warriors are men. The women were just added recently but it's still really men who dominate the performance. Kaya mo bang sayawin ang Dinagyang e ang bilis bilis at mahirap gayahin. Manhood ka kaya ng Dinagyang kahit dito lang sa YT para makita mo kung madaling gayahin.

so why until now there's few tourists going to dinagyang compared to sinulog and why sinulog is more tourist going there? I'm so curious by the way. It is known for the best festival in aliwan and also sinulog I think they won grandslam just like dinagyang , but in terms of being known as the best of the best of festival in the country , but sinulog has the massive contingent joining their festival( some are out of town from mindanao and even masbate and from leyte and negros) , then why dinagyang if it was known as best tourism and why dinagyang cannot do the same what sinulog can do? In terms of festival , why sinulog emmited by other provinces and even other municipality and even celebrated by the other countries like canada , usa, australia and some parts of europe? That's why I'm so curious about this kind of arguments by others to the two major festival in our country

Dinagyang is only considered the best tourism event not because it's the most visited festival in the PH by foreigners but it's used as a prop to attract foreigners by the Dept of Tourism but it doesn't mean it's the most visited by foreigners nor by locals. Get your facts straight. Speak only facts ,wag assuming. If you are a really half Cebuano, you should know that some of the contingents of Sinulog are not from Cebu but from Surigao, from Negros, from Bohol, etc. wag kang tanga2x dyan. at wag kang feeler Cebuano dyan.

For me Dinagyang is more on Tribal than Sinulog,Coz Panay has more Ethnic People and tribal groups than Cebu,Aeta/ati are still alive trough out Panay.and Cebu they hav pruvial Parade to celebrate the time when Sto nino arrived in the island..

Right! In honor of the Aetas in Panay. The original dances (Ati-atihan, Derived from the word ATI, the Aetas of Panay) was a practice even before the Malay, Indonesians, Chinese, Indians and Westerners came to the Phlippines. It is older than most people think.

Just to be fair to your comments In talking about Ethnicity Cebuanos ben the most center of businesses since 15000 while iloilo or panay never ben. Also history tells that CEBUANOS ben a rajahnate while iloilo panay is not.

@@aircalago8384 malay ko. Baka naisip nila 2nd biggest city ang Cebu sa Pinas. Oh baka sayaw lang gusto nila. Sayaw na may mga tunog ng xylophones. 70s to 80s pa kasi yan ginagawa sa Iloilo ang mga drum and bugle corps with exhibition and sayaw2. Pang maliit na brgy na lamang ngayon.

Ang Dinagyang ay total Package na. In fairness sa Sinulog, ang Dinagyang kasi ay may dalawang part yan, Kasadyahan at Ati-atihan. Nung time na sa Cebu ako nag work naka panood ako nang Sinulog, sabi ko parang pareho lang sila nang Kasadyahan sa Iloilo. Sorry sa mga friends ko sa Cebu at Kalibo ha..Opinion ko lang ito. Kung e combine natin ang Ati-atihan sa Kalibo at Sinulog sa Cebu, ito ay Dinagyang.

Ang cheap.. Pang Aliwan level lang yung Dinagyang nyo.. Foregin tourist doesn't even know Aliwan even your Dinagyang. But surely they want to know Sinulog because this is the grandest and most popular festival.. Mga copy cat tikalons...

Even Bacolod City, kinakain yan ng buhay kaya galit yan sila sa Bacolod. Nagka Megaworld na umandar na pag ka ilusyodana and tikalon. Even the original fiesta of Sto Nino they want to discredit which is Sinulog in Cebu compared to their copy cat festival na kinopya lang naman sa Ati Atihan as queen festival kuno dahil sa awards daw from Aliwan... Ang cheap talaga ng taste... Foreign tourist doesn't recognized Aliwan and in fact mas dami pang recognitions ang Sinulog outside the country that's why it is the most famous and grandest festival. Kaya no wonder why yung Dinagyang nila nilalangaw ng mga competitors kahit mga kalapit island and provinces walang pupunta to celebrate with them kasi nga ang cheap ng festival nila and the same celebration can also be found also in Sinulog and Ati Atihan.. By the way they even want to discredit Sinulog which is just festival where in fact even before it was popularized as term for festival, the Sinulog word was a term for ritual dance the original dance worship for the original Sto Nino (which in Cebu) way back during Spanish era. Tapos yung mga copy cat festival pa yung queen festival eh wala ngang ka class yang festival nila... Walang originality at ang cheap ng taste......

I am from Iloilo at bet kong mga festivals ay Dinagyang,Sinulog,T'nalak, Panagbena and Ati atihan.. Very Filipino

Dinagyang ang pinakamasayang festival at Sinulog ang pinakamagastos. Iyong festival ng ibang probinsiya kapag dumayp sa Cebu nagging Sinulog. Ganyan sila kadespetado para dominahin ang ibang probinsiya. Sa sunod iyong criteria nila sa Cebu sinulog eh dapat marunong magbisaya ang mga sasali😁

Aliwan 2006-2007-2008: 1st Place: Sinulog 2nd: Dinagyang The only festival that beat Sinulog in Aliwan was Samar which also performed in Sinulog. Hindi po umiiyak ang fans ng Sinulog dahil 3 yrs sunod sunod nilampaso ng Sinulog ang Dinagyang 🤣

Sa mga vloggers na nagpopost ng mga videos at nanuod ng dinagyang at sinulog, yung mga comments nila na yung yung difference sa performance yung sinulog daw ay parang sayaw lang sila, syempre plus the costumes, while the dinagyang also have the costumes, the props, etc, the difference sabi nila yung dinagyang di lang sila sumasayaw sa whole performance nila kundi may istorya, may kwento yung kanilang, yung parang daw yung kanilang performance ay isang kwento about the life of our ninuno and amcestirs nuon, thier way of living,vhow they live, how they survive nuong mga unang panahon. Kung anu nuon ng wala pa o di pa dumating yung mga spanish dito sa pinas kung anu pamumuhay ng mga ninuno natin, yung hanggang sa dumating spanish and how they change, etc.... 😁😁😁😅😅😅

magkaiba ang choreography at technique ng Sinulog at Dinagyang.. it's like comparing apples to oranges. Dito sa Mindanao at karatig central at eastern Visayas, lahat ng festivals gustong sumali ng Sinulog kasi nandoon ang sumasali ang mga champions ng mga champions sa ibat'ibang contingent ng Visayas at Mindanao. Kaya sa mga standpoint ng mga champions ng ibat ibang festival sa Central, Eastern, at Mindanaoan festivals, Sinulog ang sinasalihan dahil doon nagtutuos at nagkikita ang mga mabibigat na streetdancing contingents ng Visayas at Mindanao. Bias kadin e african theme?. Original po na ati talaga tao dito sa pinas. Similar lng po talaga kayo sa karatig bansa sa cultural showcase nyu. Hindi na kasi tunay na pilipino. Hahaha Na mekus2 na.

@rity_loft haha di mo talaga alam no na ang ati type of culture is African descent? Yung Dinagyang as a festival is FIlipino made pero yung costume insipiration is of African inspiration owing to the fact that when the Borneans came to Panay, they saw African like drumming and cultural celebration. Diyos ko po nag komento ka pa. Buti pa ang mga Brazilians alam nila na the culture from which the Carnival and Samba comes from is of African descent. Study your culture first.

For me dinagyang I've been to cebu and Iloilo celebrate both events but I can truly say dinagyang is one of the best

Okay naman po overall ang video nya kaso yung concern ko lang po lalo na if ma kita to ng mga cebuano is yung pinagmulan ng term na sinulog... Sana ma correct kasi for me sensitive yung paksa kasi related yun sa mga paniniwala ng mga cebuano

Since complicated ang music at dance steps ng folk dance na angkop sa Sinulog at kopya lang iyong drumbeat sa Dinagyang😂 hindi pwede ang wave dance sa merry making kaya drumbeat pa rin ang sinasabayan ng mga udong kapag nag merry making or else para lang silang ta nga na sumasayaw.🤣🤣🤣

Cebu and ilo ilo before magellan already had festival dances... i give my vote to ilo ilo for best dance performance and best festival kahit cebuano ako. Lamang lang talaga ang cebu sa historical setting sa festival at Halos buong january ang fiesta sa cebu dahil sa daming sto. Niño ang patron sa mga chapel

Parada lang iyong original sinalog at 2 step forward at 1 step backward ang galawan. Walang street dance competition pwera lang doon sa talagang gustong mag folk dance habang pumaparada.
