though the ending is heartbreaking, part of me also wants him to rest in peace because he's been through so much...and i think he also really wants to reunite with his family and Glen. but I hope Byleth would join him though 😅 i mean she doesn't age anymore but she's strill capable of dying like Flayn's mom right?

@@applemonster9615 In their ending they say the rest of their days so probably long lived meaning Baylith may have aged a bit by the time Demitri died.

Really beautiful. I couldn’t choose which lord at first -I was edging toward Edelgard. I ended up deciding by scrolling through all three and seeing who I would randomly end up on. Got Dimitri... was dissatisfied and tried again... got Dimitri... tried one more time (claiming I’d only choose whoever I got 3 times in a row -hoping to get someone else)... got Dimitri. Best intervention of fate in my life, I love my boi. Ps. Hope your friend and her family get better soon:)

Honestly, i didn't care about him at first because I did Edel's route first and did his route last, I was really surprised how much I fell in love with his character & his route :( and wow, i didn't think anyone bothered reading my ramblings in the description! that was very nice of you and yes, they're recovering well now :) thank you for that and for watching!!

That ending omg. My heart, I cried. 🥺 It's the equivalent of the sun going out. Its unfathomable to live without it.

yeah, I love that headcanon too. but I also dont mind the headcanon how Byleth lives a thousand years only to meet Dimitri's reincarnation again. (I mean that's how they're portrayed in a lot of fanfics!) the artist really dropped such a feels ending on that manga :( well on the bright side, (in game) Dimitri & Byleth's paired ending is up to interpretation whether they lived long or not... but since it said "they remained desperately in love for the rest of their days", I'd like to believe they lived long together or died together.

if it makes you feel a little better, the last page of that doujin is Dimitri and Byleth's son who is has also become partly immortal. (I put the link to the doujin in the description!!) also, I used fRobin's voice (from FE warriors robin & chrom support) for fByleth! ^_^ so no, its not Jeanie Tirado....but I do hope you will still do the other routes

I really loved this. Dimitri and Byleth are my favorite couple in FH:3H I think they complement each other really well I did the blue Lions my first playthrough and I'm doing it for my second it's my favorite. And a song I think fits Dimitri really well is monster by starset it goes with his character so much and it reminds me of him watching this made me think of that song it's one of my favorites

Yeah.....I completely forgot about the whole he'll age thing....to think I almost watched this whole thing without crying.😢👏

Actually I don't think that was age. There's actually a theory that Dimitri dies of illness some years after the war. I dunno if this follows that theory, but it's possible. If that theory is true, then jeez Dimitri really draws the short end of the stick.

There is one thing that puzzles me about Byleth's immortality. We know that in the ending of Flayn / M-Byleth, Byleth has a longevity quite close to that of the Nabataeans, but in the ending of Dimitri / F-Byleth: "But rather two adoring spouses, desperately in love. They remained as such for the rest of *THEIR* days ." Doesn't that imply that Byleth and Dimitri practically die together?

yes this is also what I choose to believe and if i recall correctly, I think ive read all of Dimitri's paired endings and in most (if not all), he always dies first before his partner. fByleth & his paired ending is the only one where there is no mention of him dying earlier than his partner so its possible!! ❤ It could either be Byleth sharing with him her blood or that they die together or not far apart. like Flayn & Seteth, Byleth won't age but can still die. its not hard to imagine that they die protecting each other. though the ending manga is fanmade and heartbreaking, it was pretty sweet that he remembers what he asked for in Goddess tower :( though, ironically, they dont get to stay together forever...

@@ShinoaKoucho Indeed, in the other endings, Dimitri died before his friend / wife, and it's usually due to illness. Personally, I doubt that Byleth has shared her blood with Dimitri, immortality is already hard to live with, but for someone where his life is haunted by "ghosts", it may be a cruel and selfish decision to prolong his life. Rather, I think Byleth died after suffering the same illness as Dimitri's. The ending didn't mention this maybe the writers consider it negligible detail, they lived happy lives until the end of their day. But this obviously remains an overinterpretation from me that I just had.

Well there's always the possibility of Byleth taking her own life when everyone else has passed away... My own headcanon is Dimitri becomes immortal with Byleth.

@@soniatsui7606 I don't think Byleth would kill herself. She has surely met people who will "prevent" her from committing suicide. People leave, others come, that's how life is. The example of a person who would "prevent" Byleth from committing suicide is obviously her child that she has with Dimitri (we know that with one of Gilbert's ends, Dimitri will necessarily have a child regardless of who his wife is). To commit suicide to end one's "suffering" while it causes other suffering to other people is another selfish act. :/

yeah i prefer them dying together. maybe died protecting each other or something...i mean that's plausible especially for them. i really loved their end card among the three lords. i usually don't like the sappy they lived happily ever after trope but id exempt this one. It was the most fitting end for a traditional route like blue lions. Its literally like a fairytale. but i do think dimitri deserves to rest in peace though...but i wish the same for Byleth.

if it makes you feel a little better, the last page of the doujin/manga seems to suggest Dimitri & Byleth's son also becomes partly immortal. Byleth won't have to be alone ^_^ .....and its fanmade anyway (a really well done one though, thanks to the amazing artist!)

I don't cry easily... and now I literally can barely see my computer screen. That ending was heartbreaking and yet so beautiful. There's a reason that immortality is nothing more than a curse. Thank you very much for this. It was amazing.

yeah fleche did a kronya/monica move in that scene 😂 i mean how can she just sneak up so efficiently on dimitri like that out of nowhere...and was her choice of weapon a dagger? ...but i guess the Rodrigue lambert scene afterwards was touching enough for me to forget about that detail haha

Well, I think Dimitri was just so angry that he wasn’t really paying attention and then Rodrigue payed the price. But it did help Dimitri calm down. Just hate Rodrigue had to die :(
