Yes!! It's also so much more impactful because Zac just went for it without any OOC warning. I loved that the way it transpired around the table exactly reflected how the characters were reacting in fiction -- all just individually making their preparations for battle and moving toward the decision as a group without explicitly talking about it, and then one person deciding to just go ahead and make the call.

Barry's little turn on "whadda ya think, Skip" is such an underrated detail in this thing, I love it so much

For added context, Murph saw Zac sitting with his arms crossed looking like he wanted a scrap so the shit eating grin on Murphs face when he teed that shit up makes it so much more funny knowing he was getting the fight started by asking skip what he thinks. That brain slug don't take shit from anyone and Barry knows it lol such gold

Skip is one of Zac's best characters! Loved the entire cast this series too; everyone was firing on all cylinders, no combat or interaction felt half baked or like they were purposefully shackling themselves!

This was a beautiful moment of everybody deciding at the same time "every one of these sons of bitches is going to die." Starstruck's energy was NUTS

Man, the gun boots that only fire straight down are so fucking funny every time I think about them lmao

I love just how excited everyone but Margaret and Gunny look when their about to get into combat

appreciation post for sidney's open "how to find mom" stargle tab

I love Margaret's eye roll at "He's trying to not pay us, _obviously_ ," as well as every expression Gunnie makes when his teammates get ready to kick ass.

I absolutely love the entrance. The contrast between Barry and Gunnie opening the doors, and the way Margaret and Barry are contrasted to the rest with their black clothing makes such show of what to me was the most (in theatre of mind) visually striking and obviously powerful members of their party: the sleek woman outfitted for a boardroom and polished floors, and the genetically engineered soldier in full armour at any time. (Also love your direction on Barry. Don't see much of him, and he was my favourite.)

Campaigns tend to be chaotic at these moments, especially when you have a cast of resolute roleplayers, you got people with ideas to bust out amazing moments, and it's often a question of who gets to do it first. Big MVP move for Murph and the godlike tee up, and the fact the Zac just had that in the barrel of his boot is bangin amazing.

I love the idea that Margret had some sort of cybernetic hand augment just to give super strong handshakes.

This is the best thing in the world -- the way you draw all the characters is perfect! They're all so expressive and lively, and as others have said, Skip's leg raise may be the best frame of anything I've ever seen. ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL!!!

So, after watching this so many times I need to compliment your impeccable staging here. Everything and everyone here looks perfect. Besides you just bodying Skip's leg lift, truly bringing it to life, I think what you've really captured is how in sync they were at that moment. Having Barry face the other way, readying his weapon, while looking sidelong at Skip, asking for confirmation for a fight he knows is happening? Good. Having him smirk as he asks the question, ready to have his friends backs? ~Cinematography~ He already knows it's about to go down and he's excited for it, he's confident, he's Barry. It add so much to the scene it's insane. Having Gunnie be so reserved yet ready to face the inevitable? And then your last team shot, where Margaret was confused, she's ready to support them now, they've got all bases covered and I love it. This is amazing. Thank you for making this, thank you for sharing this.

The whole crew just resigning themselves to a fight one by one as Margaret is standing there like "Oh... were doing this? oh okay, OH. Yeah that tracks" Is just so perfect I love how you perfectly capture all the characters, and that little flair of Sydney having that short little confirmation with Barry is just the cherry on top. Great work as always.

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!! god, i'm so so impressed with how you mapped this all out, big ups on the camera movement for skip's leg bit; ALSO a huge fan of sid and barry doing their own thing in the back, and how the license intel sort of ripples through the group. and of course gunnie going thru the 5 stages of grief as he realizes what the new plan is. utter perfection

I could tell right away from the thumbnail that this was you, your style is so distinctive and the Evan Kelmp animation was iconic! i always come back to this animation because this scene felt so cinematic at the time and i love seeing it play out!

The way Zac starts AND ENDS this combat is maybe the greatest tabletop thing I've ever seen. Played and performed so goddamn well. Following the best initiation line up with the greatest first combat round of the entire series to say the absolute dumbest thing at the end... god.
