For me, the most impressive song on a vocal and interpretative level is IKANAIDE. It is a studio version of a song well known in Japan. It's on his channel: Ikanaide 2021 (Tokyo Jazz Festival). I promise you that it will not leave you indifferent. SPEECHLESS ❤

This song is from a 70's futuristic Canadian Rock Opera called Starmania. Very sad story and this song was sung by the male protagonist when his girlfriend was dying in his arms shot by gangsters stray bullets. He sings SOS questioning his existence and contemplating suicide. His last words "sleep child sleep" as his love breathed her last is especially poignant. One of the most difficult French songs in the world. Dimash made it even more difficult by expanding the range from 2 1/2 octaves to 3 1/2 octaves. No one can sing this version correctly (or beautifully) except Dimash although people have tried and some almost succeed they fall short. It is now Dimash's calling card which he sings at every one of his solo concerts. A huge fan favorite. And as you have noticed, Dimash is not tied to any one genre of songs. Dimash sings what he wants, when he wants. 😄

They are about contrasts between high and low, both physical and emotional, and his performance expresses that through all these contrasts (the contrasts are not only expressed through range, but through the dynamics, the different singing styles he uses, as well). He creates an emotional rollercoaster in this song, and it touches me very deeply. Dimash always serves the song. Some of his songs don't have a wide range or high notes at all, it all depends on the song. For me Dimash is a storyteller and a soul healer, because his voice moves ne profoundly and heals through the emotions he transmits.

He makes it look like he jumps out of bed everyday and start singing lol 😂❤️👏🙌 IMHO, he is the best musician in the world. It was actually an aria from a French musical Starmania from the late 70s. So if it sounds like music theater, it was! Dimash expanded the range by 2-3 octaves in his performances, thus differing from the original composition and performance of the piece. BTW, there is a new Global Girl Group "UNIS"( has 2 Japanese, 2 Filipinos and 4 Koreans) has great vocals, please check their "Dopamine" M2 performance and all their Bsides are bangers! Also there is HORIZON" (an all-Filipino Global pop group under a Korean company) recently had a comeback with their "LUCKY" MV also have great Bsides in their debut album.

Well, Dimash doesn't eat ham, as a devout Muslim, no pork, so no ham and cheese sandwiches for him. lol. This song is from an old Rock Opera called Starmania. So it feeling like a story makes sense. If you want to hear him sing higher and lower try Stranger, the song is in English. Most of his songs don't really sound like his other songs, he tends to mix up his styles....and languages. This one was in French.
