The show this is from is from China that lasted 14 episodes. 1 episode per week called I Am A Singer in 2017 for professional music acts & Dimash was invited as an unknown wildcard. He ended in 2nd because the rules wouldn't allow for a non Chinese act to win so 2nd was the best he could get. The following year they changed the rules which allowed Jessie J to compete and win. Dimash has loads of songs & his own channel. For English subtitles & some stories go to the channel Gloria Wu. She has the performance with subtitles added for the foreign language songs during the competition. 🎶👱‍♀️👗👠👠💓

Dimash sang this song in various contests way before “The Singer”. Just imagine him performing many different songs across a wide range of stryles. There are full Dimash concerts on YT. He's been improving since 2017 when that video was recorded.

Dimash did this song first in the China singing competition, its a French/Canadian song that has been performed by many French singers , but Dimash took it to another level, Dimash was unknown in the contest and a foreigner as everyone else were professional singers, but watch their facial emotions when they realize they are experiencing greatness. Over night Dimash was famous and required bodyguards after 600+ million fans loved him after one performance. he came in second in the contest as the rules required Chinese singer to win, but Dimash caused the rules to change the following year and Jessie J was able to win it. Dimash is from Kazakhstan, 22 y.o. at this time and 6'4", and on his way to being a legend, with sell out concerts all over the world. He speaks several languages and is learning others, does songs in English also, and soon will be coming to America. Sings every genre of music known, every song different but great.

Dimash sang this song in various contests way before “The Singer”. He greatly improved it for “The Singer” and still sings it to this day, the most recent performance being for the inauguration of the US President Joe Biden, performance you can find on KZread. He the most amazing singer I have ever heard!

non sos d'un terrrien en distress is a FRENCH song, written by Michel Berger. Then for a French Dimash is certainly very strong vocally but Daniel Balavoine or Gregory will always be on top, because the story of these two men corresponds to the song.

Great reaction! Like many other Dimash fans (‘Dears’ as we are called) I love watching first time reactors like yourself having the same sort of reaction I had when I first came across Dimash more than 4 years ago. There are over 110 different songs he has performed that can be seen and heard via the Internet, and none will disappoint. There are at least a dozen absolute masterpieces that I’m sure others will suggest for you to react to, but I think it is important to realise just how much work he has put in to be able to learn so many songs, many in languages he does not speak, and in most genres. And he’s just 26 now (he was 22 when he sang the version of SOS that you reacted to). Looking forward to seeing more reactions to Dimash.

This is Dimash’s first song on the Chinese television show “ The singer” he had 600 million hits from this song on Weibo and was very surprised when he was told the following day that he would now require a security detail. Even more shocking is the fact that he “ unbelievably “ has gotten better 🤯 Best voice on the Planet❤

I have seen quite a few people reacting to this song. Like you just now, all of them had been enchanted by him. Dimash comes from a performing family (mom sings opera, dad was a pop singer) and has literally been on stage for his entire life. Singing is the only career he's ever wanted, and he's been training since he was five. The earliest public performance of SOS that I've found was 2012 - which means he was only 17, and already singing this incredibly difficult song. This one was 2017. His voice and technique just keep getting better: the most recent is this year, 1/20/21 for Sister Cities International in honor of Joe Biden's inauguration. That one is not only stunningly well sung, but is on a drop dead gorgeous stage. You really should have look/listen just for the sheer enjoyment of it! Anyway, I really really enjoyed your response and hope you check out many more Dimash songs. He sings many genres, from ballads like this one, to rock and roll, classical and jazz. But mostly he mashes it all up and sings each note in the genre that he feels most sets off the emotion and tone of the song - just as in this one, that had notes that were distinctly pop, rock and classical. This was the first performance of the first night of the Chinese competition show - The Singer - in 2017. Generally only accomplished Chinese singers could participate. But Dimash had won several contests in Kazakhstan, and was invited to compete as a wild card. No one had any idea who he was, and as it was his first performance, the audience was advised in advance by the producers to applaud and give him a warm welcome to the stage. By the end of the song, they were applauding and cheering for real. He took first place for that night's competition. The next day, he had 600 million hits on Weibo (China’s Instagram)... and the rest, as they say, is history.
