Not a wasted note, or movement, not a missstep, a body and voice imbued with thousands of hours of practice, years of study that enables him to place himself emotionally within a song, and flawlessly revel in it.

One of my favorite things I've heard said about dimash when he sings is that he becomes the song, he is the song.

His ability to skid on the edge between breath and barely a note without breaking is incredible, he is an absolute master at it and he never showed it as much as here.

The fragility of a note he is able to maintain and then widen it breathtakingly slowly and increase a power behind it, under it, and pull it up soaringly is unlike any artist I've ever heard.

Each IKANAIDE is supposed to be sung with a different emotion. The lyricist said that Dimash was the first non-native Japanese singer who understood that and did it to perfection. This song is a Masterpiece. A Canadian Dear 🦌🇨🇦💜🇰🇿

Dimash is a true, honest, and humble transformative. He understands the importance of conveying the real story of music through performance. His total commitment to the story in appearance, dress, body language, and emotion is like a mini-opera. Or a Popera if you like. His intense operatic, blues, jazz, folk, world, and pop music training are all elements within the story. Every performance is a work of art that is very personal to him.

Dimash breathes and it's part of his performance. He is silent and it's part of his performance. He uses every molecule of his body and every facet of his abilities. Just the most extraordinary performer I think I will ever experience in my lifetime. He is the Lawrence Olivier of music.

The Chinese (Autuumn Strong) and Japanese (Ikanaide/ Please, don’t Go) versions have completely different lyrics.. Both are based on a true story. The Chinese version is sad, says goodbye, just as the leaves fall in autumn and autumn comes ... irrevocably. The Japanese version does not want to accept the loss, is full of pain, pleads, suffers ... heartbreaking. I am totally fascinated how sensitively Dimash differentiates between the feelings of sadness and loneliness in the Chinese version and loss and pain in the Japanese version and conveys them to the listener... it tears my heart apart and the tears keep flowing. I have never heard anything like this from a singer in my entire life. That is true mastery. The original Japanese version Ikanaide/ Don’t Go(composed 1989) is by Koji Tamaki (*1958, Japanese songwriter). The sad true story... very touching: It is about Yoshiko Yamaguchi (*1920-2014), a Chinese-born Japanese actress during World War II. She hid her Japanese heritage under the name Li XIanglan and became famous in China. However, when the war was over and she revealed her identity, she was accused of being a spy. She was deported to Japan and longed for China. Ms. Yamaguchi did not return to China until many years as deputy environment minister in the Japanese parliament. The song is a metaphor as the lyrics speak of how a person should hide what they are feeling. Koji Tamaki sent a wonderful message to Dimash, thanking him, and praising him for singing his song in Japanese. Vbloggers, they reacted to the original by Koji Tamaki, they are mesmerized and can't stop listening to him. This was another very enjoyable reaction and analysis. This is quickly becoming one if not the favorite Dimash performance for me and it invokes a very visceral response in me, just as "Ave Maria" did. Dimash sang “Ikanaide” for the Tokyo Jazz Festival in January of 2021 from what looks like his studio at home. According to several native Japanese speakers, Dimash’s pronunciation of the lyrics is nearly flawless. One native speaker, who gave a detailed analysis, stated that he is “expressing Japanese more (better) than Japanese” and that he does not only perfectly pronounce Japanese but “expresses Japanese…with Japanese emotion.”. Goro Matsui who wrote the lyrics to “Ikanaide” posted on his Twitter account that he has never heard a foreigner sing in Japanese in such a beautiful way. Tamaki Kōji composed the music and performed the song in 1989. "Ikanaide" became the title song for the Chinese-Japanese TV series “Farewell, Li Xianglan'', filmed that year. It is the story of Yoshiko Yamaguchi, a beloved Chinese-born Japanese actress, and singer during World War II, who hid her Japanese heritage under the name Li XIanglan. Following the war, when the Chinese became aware of her Japanese heritage, she was accused of being a spy and sentenced to death by firing squad for treason and collaboration with the Japanese; she had been involved in the production of Japanese propaganda films. Thanks to the intervention of influential friends she was cleared of all charges but urged to leave China or risk being lynched. She resettled in Japan where she would continue to enjoy a successful acting career. In the 1950s, she moved her acting career to Hollywood and Broadway under the name Shirley Yamaguchi but returned to Japan in 1959, retiring from acting. She would go on to become a TV presenter and eventually a politician. She did not return to China for nearly 20 years. В данном случае это глаза не просто поющего человека - это глаза человека , глубоко погружённого в своё страдание и в свою тоску перед неминуемым расставанием ! To my meaning his best ever. My dad was an opera singer. He mostly sang duets and trio's. He always said that if one can not sing soft and quietly he/she is not a very good singer yet. He was very kind and modest and was not arrogant by saying this. It was only his point of view. I wish he could hear Dimash sing. Thank you for your reaction.
