Wo ai ni = I love you in Chinese. At the end of the song he sang men seni sujemin = I love you in kasakh language, his mother tongue.

Another thing to make note of during his unique run -- the music in the background... rather than playing in conjunction to his climbing range, he has them play and hold a single Atmospheric tone throughout the entire progression, culminating right back on key for where he finishes and the instrumental melody returns. SIDE NOTE: During his very first performance of SOS on The Singer 2017, the product discussed how they kept trying to arrange the song the way they thought the Chinese Audience might be more receptive and excited, and they found Dimash very insistent in the arrangement he wanted. From that performance and arrangement, they realized that Dimash didn't just do things on a whim or personal listening preference, but that he actually had a full understanding of the right musical arrangements for his voice, and for the audience. They became quickly impressed with not only his vocal prowess, but also his mastery in arrangements and understanding in achieving the feeling he wanted to create with every performance.

Bill - that's very interesting information. I've always wondered if when he performed SOS he ended up singing it the way he wanted or the way they suggested he sing it in order to get the audience to "jump up", as the Chinese producer wanted him to do (as shown in the video), because they certainly did stand up!

Where Dimash is not using English, he is sing/speaking in Mandarin for the audience. His arranger is family friend he calls brother, Erlin Bekchurin. He is a fantastic arranger. The flautist is a Chinese musician on the show which has excellent production values and musicians. Tengger, also known as Tenger or Tengri, is a Chinese singer, songwriter and composer of Mongolian ethnicity (Inner Mongolia). I look forward to your reactions , especially to Dimash. Fun fact: 1) Richie’s son in law was in that room as an audience and he was blown away! 2) This is one year after Dimash came back to this show as they invited him as a guest to perform. Jessie J was in backstage and watched him on the screen. She and her crews were shook! 🤣🤣 . Then at the end when all singers on stage to say good bye. She reached out to Dimash and shook hands and whispered to him and they both laughed a lot ( maybe congratulated him!!) there was a video of this on youtube! Dimash was the only foreign singer on the show 2017, Jessie J was the only foreign singer on the show 2018, after 2017 year of Dimash, they changed the rule that any singers can win the show, that was why in 2017 Dimash was placed SECOND because they didn’t allow foreign singer to win the show since this show had ALL accomplished huge fan base well known CHINESE singers

Dimash lives inside the music including the spaces in the music, the silent spaces in the music even; and the music lives inside of him.

Dimash is singing I love you in Mandarin Chinese as he is in China. At the very end he sings it in Chinese, and Kazakh as well as thank you in Chinese. Dimash is always respectful to all countries he performs in and often sings something in their native language to please his audience. Tengri who is Mongolian is in the audience as well as Hua Chenyu a famous Chinese singer. They are all competitors in the 2018 series of Singer where Dimash performs as a guest ❤

As he said, he builds the whole song himself, what and how it will sound. Bcuz he knows his voice, he knows what he is capable of. he explains this to his close friend and arranger Erlan.and he does so.Btw if u like this particular song ,u should listen Vocalise from Kiev, it's amazing.

Most Dimash music arrangement including this had done by his fellow young Kazakh producer Erlan Bekhcurin whom Dimash calls his brother. Erlan is talent himself. Even all Igor Krutoy songs still done by Erlan with arrangements. Erlan Bekchurin's wife is Jordan Arakeliyan (Armenian) is Dimash back singer. They are all young and so talented.

I saw Lionel Ritchie two times in PARIS singing this song it was beautiful BUT Dimash it is another world he took me to the moon , to Mars... this guy make me CRAZY he is so GOOOOOOD. Thanks for this lovely moment.Big KISS from PARIS.

Dimash is a masterclass in singing!!! He is a diamond. I can not get enough of hearing him sing even after 3 yrs of listening to him every day. Thank you for your deconstruction and your enthusiasm to his performance. I hope that you got to see/hear his online concert! It was spectacular. I hear that he is coming to live for a bit in Ca. to learn music from the western perspective. :)

This is my absolute favourite version to this song. It is odd that it feels both old, new and fresh. He totally reinvented the song but in a respectful way. Unfortunately, he has never sung it again. I believe he was told not to sing it anymore.

I've always liked this song. But, with Dimash singing it I can truly say I love 💘 it. His voice is so beautiful. It takes you to a loving, peaceful place in your heart and mind.

Oh. My. God! Who put oxygen tanks and extra vocal cords into this magnificent man's body? This was absolutely exquisite. I don't know how he breathes (around the 10 min mark) or rather, does NOT breathe, but I think he has to have some secret source that is not quite within mortal reach! Love. Love. LOVE this rendition! I generally adore the 'Arabian'ish' vocal music (I know it is not just Arabian, but also of the Steppes and the mountains and so on, but I am just referring to the type of music) where riffs and runs and glorious vocal gymnastic is a part of the culture, and he blows it out of the water. It’s gorgeous, I love how Dimash brings music styles from different countries and cultures together. I love the throat singing in the background and the intensity of his almost a call to prayer. If you love someone that passionately you’re going to want them to know it. He’s singing I love you, in Chinese. Glad you love this interpretation too!

Dimash and his best friend Erlan Bekchurin arrange his songs, Dimash produces all his songs and writes any differences into sings he covers which he had to over the 4 months this competition was running in 2017. This was a guest performance from 2018. I really enjoy your reactions although Dimash was already a seasoned performer since childhood, but he just got a much bigger audience in China, but he didn't let it phase him ❤

Dimash attracts to him and keeps by his sides individuals of incredibly high caliber like himself. The levels of coordination of all the moving parts that make up one of his songs including but not limited to the band, the dancers, the lighting, the stages - that doesn't happen unless you really really have your act together. Yet, he makes it all look easy! All one need do is take one look at how he interacts with his family, his competitors, his darlings and how gently, warmly, kindly he deals with them all to know what kind of man he is and why without even trying he inspires loyalty and love. You can't fake what he's got. He's the real deal. We truly are blessed to have him here on earth with us.

Because this was a competition show and Dimash wanted to make his own version of the song. Also, singing this in Chinese land, he added and translated a phrase “ I love you” to Madarin , which is “ wo ai ni” to Chinese audiences! Many English speakers are confused and jumped to conclude his weird pronuncitation of I LOVE YOU , I mean “I love you “ is the simple phrase, this dude is smart and he knew what he was doing and what for the audiences there! 😉😉
