Thank you for using Gloria to get the back story of this song. Dimash performed it in his very first concert, Bastau. It was his dream to sing for his fellow country men. It is quite a spectacular sight. There are over 100 dombras and Dimash cries at the end. We will watch it with you or you can watch on your own. It is on his official you tube channel. Stop saying that about Gloria's channel. Her appreciation and love for Dimash's talent is why she started it. And she appreciates others looking up the back ground of songs as well as translating the meanings for us english speaking followers of Dimash to better enjoy his songs. The videos she matches up with Dimash;s songs are nothing short of fantastic. I hope more and more people who don;t normally listen to this type of music will do so once they associated with a video story line. Aw thank you so much! I'm happy to finally get to see more of his music! Work was pretty busy but I have a bit more time now so i'm really excited to continue!

Daididau is a sung poem!! Dimash loves his homeland so much and he wants that world knows about Kazakhstan and its folk! There are videos where Dimash is singing Kazakhstan's folk songs! His grandparents and parents form a very cultured and traditional family and they teach their youngest members about Kazakhstan's culture!

He was in New York December 10th 2019, I did not know him, if I had I think I would have made the trip to see him. Someone posted him singing this song and the crowd was humming along, he was very emotional seeing so many people knowing this song from his homeland. I think he was very proud that night, he brought his homeland, his culture heritage to America and we are thankful for that. He is an inspiration for everyone. A charming young man.

Love that song so much and i love the Bastau version most because Dimash show soooo much emotion in that, he is fighting not to cry. Much love and peace to you Matthew. From Sweden.

Hi again...I learned that central Kazakhstan was once held by the Mongolian Empire led by Khenis Khan. A tribe called the Madgars broke free from its tyrannical powers and headed East. They stopped in the valley between the Carpathian Mountains to settle peaceably for years. But the revenge of the Mongolian king held strong against the breakaway tribe. He set his two sons and the Tartar warriors on a task to obliterate the Magyar people who are the present day Hungarians. Many were slaughtered with no weapons and military protection. To survive the tribes scattered into the Carpathian Mts. I had a DNA test that showed a percentage of my ancestry was from the central steppes of Asia. (How could this be?) Looked up all this historical data and was amazed. So many people had commented that I looked Eurasian. Now my history has collided with Kaskhstan from the investigation of Dimash's history. The instrument he is playing is the dombar (sp?) similar to a Hungarian gypsy instrument and also a Russian instrument. And so the world goes in circles...right!

Hi Matt, Beautiful heartfelt reaction to this beautiful song. This is purely a very simple folk song but rearranged by Dimash for performances such as this, there is a vid where he sings this with a full orchestra and arranged all the orchestral parts. The people behind him were all his friends from music college in Kazakhstan flown in specially for his performance. There are a good few videos of him singing Kazakh songs (He even included one or two in his recent London concert) he loves to bring his culture to people who wouldn't normally get to experience it … you can tell by his smile at the end of this how proud he his. He was made a "Kazakh son" and one of the youngest ambassadors to represent his country. 👌👌👌😊

The lady at the beginning was with the Paris Opera before becoming part of the main Kazakhstan opera company. She was a judge on a Kazakhstan TV talent show and supported Dimash during and after. They performed a duet together at his first concert.

welcome back and thanks for reaction to this song! . I love Daididau and get emotional every time. If you like Dimash's original language ( I believe that kazakh language is very musical ) listen to GIVE ME LOVE ( Makhabbat ber maghan) or UNFORGETTABLE DAY . The first one is unbelievable and so emotional( no high notes but sung purely and from the heart ).
