Thanks for the mounting idea for the swager.. You solved a big problem there.

You still had to reseat the brass occasionally. It seems to me that was the whole purpose of the over-kill project. But fun to watch. : )

I would have put a piece of metal tubing on the nail as a roller. This would help save the cable and the nail. Great video.

Seems like a lot of work, I use a RCBS JR. press with a RCBS Primer Pocket Swager die. Works great and is fast. I have three 550b dillons, Love them!!!!

I highly recommend any Spectra/Dyneema thread (fishing line). A tiny thread can be rated to 120lbs, and ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (trade names Spectra and Dyneema) has the wonderful property of exhibiting virtually zero stretch. It's less stretchy than a steel cable of the same strength. UHMW-PE is also extremely slick, so routing the thread is less of a concern.

Very nice Mod. You think Dillon would listen to and watch customer mods and come up with a redesigned auto swagger. Im sure their sales would go up on the swagger.

@thunderfan747 I didnt put the screw in the wood simply because I didnt want the spring rubbing against the edge of the swager. Im sure it would work fine that way too.

How deep did you drill the screw hole on side of lever where you attached cable. Or did you screw through it? I am new to this, but picked up the 6-32 De Walt drill/tap package.

Great idea, but I would use aluminum or steel (easier to weld a T) and C clamp it to the table. I think your wood will become loose after a thousand or less.

i do use a c-clamp on the table. It works great. Ive also done several thousand cases and the stand is just like it was the day I made it. there ZERO pressure on the joint.

why didn't you just put a screw into the wood for the other end of the spring?
