PTV once used to be an institution where intellectuals of the era would write dramas, direct them and act in them. All of them were giants of their filed and were such characters that watching them had always been a joy. Finally in the new millennium a tsunami of private commercial channels took all over the world. The tidal waves are still passing over and the cultural values are drowning fast under those gigantic and disastrous waves. Now we have all sorts of slangs usage and craps uttered by even female, leave alone the males. So when we look back to those programs from the last, we get mesmerized to see what our cultural values once used to be. It’s a fun for the host today to address his guests as “Abay, Tu, chhor Yar, kia kahta hai” etc. etc to demonstrate their frankness together. They don’t bother to think what a child would learn from them. Dilip Saheb address a very junior artist Moin Akhtar with “Aap ne abhi farmaya”. Just imagine and look at the place where Dilip Saheb was standing.

@@2sridhark No brother, there is no hate for india in hearts of pakistanis. It is media, sorry to say but mostly indian media. There might be a faction but they are so small, almost negligible in existence, it is the media from both sides that capture only such people. Pakistan has immense respect for art of india.

Ever since the bjp came into power they have changed Bollywood industry. Every year there are multiple films promoting hate for Pakistan, kashmir and Muslims. They have removed Urdu language from films. Historical films are made with Muslim leaders shown as barbaric rapists like in padmavaat. Aluddin khilji saved India by fending off the mongols otherwise Indias fate would have been worse than Baghdad and every where the conquered. He was portrayed as this sexstarved, lustful barbarian that couldn’t touch the Hindu queen because she’d rather die by fire than the thought of him raping her. The propaganda bjp is doing is only causing hate and violence.

Zero hate comments shows the karizma of our Yusuf sahab.🥰🥰🙏🙏

No loud background music, no roving camera, no "milte hain ek break ke baad" farce, no audience clapping at every word, no blinding graphics on screen behind the guests, no distracting text below saying "Watch ......... only on ..... tomorrow at 8:30pm". This is from the days when content ruled the roost, without shiny props to hide the poverty of content, as it happens nowadays, mostly on our Indian television.

Back then when the celebs and the hosts actually knew how to talk, and maintain respect and dignity in interviews..

He has acted in few films but left a bigger impact. Has been a recluse and exclusive person. In his career even Marlon Brando acted in just fifty films.

Thanks for this video. Enjoyed every moment, every word uttered. All the big stars of India and Pakistan, but how polite and modest. Amazing!!

I’ve always carried a torch for Sir Sunil Dutt, as he was a very caring, kind and built unity, spoke perfect Urdu and also was a great actor! Mother India blew me over with his presence, and also his amazing film Sujata dealing with the brutal concept of the ‘untouchable’ Dutt had what We term insaaniyat a social conscious! Dilip Kumar was an accomplished actor and even his lip synching was so real you almost felt he was singing! Aadmi and Gunga jumna, Mughal e Adam,kohinoor,Daag , leader etc Both actors were also very very good looking young men!

I liked the way how simplistic interview was conducted,just like how in life people talk. Now u see coffee with Karan ,which just does not feel anywhere like common life (at least in South Asia )

An invaluable opportunity of my life to listen to these serene, clear-headed, shining, and bright intellectual artists of the Pakistan Film industry who interviewed along with Sunil Dutt with the utmost respect, esteem, patience, and overflowing admiration for a person and an artist of great accomplishment - the one and the only Dalip Kumar - the actor, philanthropist, known as the Tragedy King, the first Khan who gave the Method Acting technique to the Indo-Pakistan Film industry. He still throbs in the heart of his innumerable admirers in the world. Starring in Jwar Bhata in 1944 he ruled the Film industry for about 54 years. A member of the Indian Parliament Dilip Kumar is a recipient of numerous Film fare awards and Padma Bhushan. He was recognized by the Government of Pakistan with the highest Civil Award Nishan-e-Imtiaz in 1998. At age 98 he is still among us in the benevolent company of his beautiful devoted wife Saira Banu. May Allah SWT bless them with a safe, sound, healthy, and meaningful successful life. Aameen.

Listening to the words uttered by these maestros, it feels like honey is being poured down my ears. The language is so refined, so cultured, so much engaging...I can go on and on. One more observation is that learning how to keep the conversation engaging and link the next question to the previous answer. Extremely polished speech, beautiful show! In 1997, one can already see that he had slowed down mentally speaking, but it was nice for him to still be able to enjoy the just honour and rewards for his work.

@Abhishek Chhillar Urdu is a national language of Pakistan, it is a regional and one of the official languages in India. Pakistani state legislative language is Urdu, while legislative languages in India is ENGLISH. Urdu is being studied, excelled in the land which is Pakistan today since 1700. Many Poets like Iqbal who was a Punjabi, Faiz who was a Pathan, SM Pawar who was a Sindhi, established themselves as the pioneer of Urdu poetry. Today according to any study or finding, Urdu is on decline in India academically, it is also being subjected to discrimination - I am not saying this, you may go look up for the information from your own Indian sources. On the other hand, Urdu is flourishing in Pakistan.
