His songs are below standard ? Spouting nonsense ! Anand Bakshi saab was the only lyricist who's songs were nominated for the highest number of times (41times) for the prestigious Filmfare Awards while won it 4 times. Gulzar saab, however, won the award for maximum number of times i.e. 13 times - who's name you might not have heard as yet. It seems songs and music are not your cup of tea. You better concentrate on agriculture.

Aanand bakshi ka koi mukabla nhi

Sadly this son of Mr. Anand Bakshi is wrong in saying that before his father the songs were Urdu heavy and that he changed that trend by simplifying them into Hindustani. The fact is Hindustani is nothing but ninety percent Urdu no matter by what name it is called. I am into my sixties and do not recall any Urdu heavy songs from 40s, 50, or 60s and to the present time that a common man could not understand. Irrespective of who the lyricist was the songs have always been in simple Urdu or Hindustani, Mr Anand Bakshi was among the great lyricists and will always be remembered for his evergreen lyrics but I disagree with his son's claim that his father changed the trend.
