Digital Twin Tutorial - Managing Views | Autodesk Tandem

Watch this digital twin tutorial to learn more about working with specific groups of Assets and Spaces to contribute and leverage data for a facility with Autodesk Tandem.
As you are defining specific groups of Assets or Spaces within Autodesk Tandem, Views should be leveraged to store and recall a filtered dataset. This allows you to quickly navigate between various Assets, Spaces, or Systems very quickly within your facility. A View defines which Parameters are in your filters panel, where you have applied filters, the columns included within your inventory, and various viewer settings such as color coding, clustering, camera position, focal length, and section planes.

How to start building your digital twin:
Once inside Autodesk Tandem go to the facilities page, get started by clicking Create new facility. Simply provide a name and any additional details needed. Then click create. After naming your facility go ahead and click Add models. From here you can either directly upload models from your local drive or point to a BIM 360 or Autodesk Docs account to incorporate your models.
Once you create an account, you will have immediate access to the tandem web application to begin managing your account. Navigate to the manage page and from here you can build out facility templates.

What is a digital twin?
A digital twin is a dynamic, up-to-date replica of a physical asset that brings together design, construction and operational data. With the addition of real-time operational data, digital twins acquire the behavioral awareness necessary to simulate, predict and inform decisions based on real-world conditions.
Why do you need a digital twin?
Digital twins provide the means to transform the built asset lifecycle. As the digital replica is enriched with operational building data, it becomes possible to predict system failures before they happen, perform “what-If” simulations, and provide rich insights into the operation, performance, and utilization of the built asset. The knowledge accumulated can be used to plan future projects and improve design decisions for better ROI.
What is Autodesk Tandem?
Autodesk Tandem is a cloud-based platform that transforms the built asset lifecycle. Autodesk Tandem helps AEC firms harness BIM (Building Information Modeling) data throughout the project lifecycle to create and handover a digital twin. Autodesk Tandem helps owners connect operational systems to the digital twin turning fragmented data into business intelligence.
Autodesk Tandem provides flexible and configurable building blocks that will enable AEC firms and owners to create and manage data-rich digital twins that mirror the built environment they represent. This allows for a more integrated workflow, whereby specifying, capturing and verifying the data-and collaboration between owners and project teams-will help achieve the desired operational outcomes.
