I don't remember voting for this. I remember in 1987 Australia voted unanimously to NOT have a national ID card. This is no different, but this time, as usual, the government is TELLING us what we should want/need.

Even back then when we all voted against the national ID card, and plans for the 'Australia Card' were scrapped, it was introduced a short time later, disguised as the photographic drivers' licence! We're never really given a choice... only the illusion of a choice!

Put all your information into one cooky jar, no thank you. Make the individual organisations responsible if they want your details, then the choice is yours whether you elect to give it to them.

This isn’t happening in most countries only in the so called western democracies.

It will create a digital two tier system, those with Digital ID and those who choose not to get it. Those without will soon become persona non grata, how long before the local pub requires to see your ID before they let you in, the same applies to all other establishments that are after your money as he said "for shareholders". How long before its linked to your credit reference score and how long before penalties for non compliance are enforced? You get a speeding ticket and it is automatically taken from your bank account. This is a slippery slope and I am not surprised the cultural marxists and Labor want to implement it. We the public dont get a say in this, our say was at the ballot box and those who voted for Albo, this one is on you.

Hacking is bad enough; but for 20 years I had to use the WRONG Date of Birth due to a clerical error. It took me 20 year ( I am not kidding ) 20 years to get the Government to fix the clerical error. My question is what recourse do I have if the Government makes a mistake? how do I appeal? who do I appeal to? It is the people that will suffer at the Hands of the Government Bureaucrats. ROBODEBT was a prime example. It will take years to sort out and in the mean time??? how do people survive? My in laws in their 80s do Not have an email, do Not have a mobile, just a land line phone. No computer or NBN. how will they be able to function in Society? Short answer; the Government does NOT care, we comply or we die.

Losing business because the business lost credibility with customers due to a data breach should be incentive to secure customer information from hackers. Alas, when the issue is a bad actor within the business, then it is about hiring and vetting crap employees.
