I love this HDZero board on my 2S 3.5" toothpick as well. I fly with Crosshair Xtreme antennas on my Scout HD, positioning myself at a corner of my flying area to cover the whole area with the beam, and the antennas have enough range and penetration to give me a perfectly clean image even a couple hundreds of yards away and behind some trees. In direct line of sight there are no breakup sparks even half a kilometer out (the furthest I can fly legally here). HDZero is not as good as DJI with an equal setup, but with some good directional antennas you can make it look and perform really nice.

Goddamn the “intro” aka. Half the video was so entertaining 😂 you’re the best Joshua.

I really love this whoop. Combined with Hdzero and Elrs it’s pure perfection!

Except when you want to upgrade that ELRS SPI receiver and can't do it! I'll not be investing in any ELRS with SPI receivers, for sure. Seems like a dead end. Same idea with HDZero - Great if you want to fly circles around the picnic tables, but as soon as you try to fly around a solid object, FORGIT 'BOUT IT! 🥴 I fly around my big house with all sorts of thick trees, all the time, with no distortion or fuzz, snow, or vertical rainbow black out....ERRRR....color out! lol Not even being able to fly around your own house because it looses picture is super limiting and a total bummer. Range is ZiLcH! SPI on the ELRS, and terrible penetration on the HDZero, two big bummers that keep me away from both!!! This is a start, but not the answer. 🤷 😫

@@KOrnhOliO1 i took mine around my house today.... not even a bit of break up..... i was pretty impressed to be honest.... i wasnt expecting the preformance that i got from it.... it is slugish in the current config...... but i have a few sets of 25000kv motors that need a good home... lol

The Mobula's are my favorite micros right now. The M6HDZL is surprisingly good. Was only getting 1 min of flight time on GNB 380's. Went to EMAX 450's and am getting much longer flight times even with the extra weight. Fly outdoors mostly and don't do a lot of stunts which is probably why I don't notice the extra weight too much. Plenty of pep for the way I fly.

How do you mount those to the frame? I’m trying to do it on my build but can’t seem to find a way that’s secure.

I put one these boards in my Tinyhawk FS II. Amaaaaazing!

Nice video - and very interesting to see this review! Please continue looking at 1 and 2S quads with digital video! Digital VTX for 1 and 2S quads is what I am looking for and I guess many others. Love my Mobula6, UZ80 (modified ESC software, propellers and camera, solid 7 minutes flightime) and Crux3 for low-noise flying in the garden and parks: but they are analog and from my digital VTX in my 4" and 5" I got spoiled. The 2" prop´s on the 4S GEPRC Rocket Lite are just too noisy for flights in the garden or parks and all other small quads with 4S are basically same: too noisy.

You rarely add the links to videos mentioned... Thank you this is one of my favorite channels

If you are willing to go to 75mm, Dax was able to put a naked vista on the mobula 7 and it still flies amazingly well.

Good thoughts. I prefer this mobula6 with 25000kV and triblades. Reduced my flight time down to 2:30, but it is way more peppy

u need better batteries! if you're already using nitro nectars or tattus then you might have a bad pigtail, 2:30 is terrible, i get 3:30-3:45 on the green mobula on triblades with good batteries and a solid pin ph2.0, and that was a heavyy quad, needed tri blades.

@@avgvstvs96 that isnt horrible for the weight of this whoop.... 25000kv motors are hard on batteries.... i get around 3 mins from factory settings on this whoop now.... i would give up 30 seconds for it to feel more like my mob6 race

I trimmed just a little of the heat shrink off in order to get my nbd lipo to fit in. Seems all the models have this short lead. But with a little trim it fits perfectly. Until I need to swap power lead

it looks way better than analoge a far cry from the tiny hawk I started with I recently view some of my old analogue videos and am so glad I'm an hd pilot now

Best thing I did with mine was to put it in a 75mm frame with 450mah battery. More than doubled flight times

What goggles are you using? I’m starting from scratch. So I have TOO many possibilities. So many options out there it’s kinda daunting on what to actually purchase

I Heard that Walksnail Digital system Is about to make a 1s version too. So I am Just waiting for this to happen and than I Will probably go for It. Eventhough I finally started flying freestyle with 3inch quad I still love tinywhoops. It would be grat having the same quality for both worlds

They need both a 1s vtx 4g or under and they need a camera 1.7g or lighter to make it work.

I wouldn't bother putting HDzero on the TH2 or Freestyle. Not saying it can't be done but because the Flight controller shape is proprietary to that quad it will be hard to stack the HDzero on top. Also the video transmitter is hard soldered and bolted to the Flight controller. It can be taken off and replaced but the HDzero stacking issue may be a challenge. You could drill holes and fit it to the underside of the top plate but not worth the trouble in my opinion.

In the vtx tab in betaflight configurator, you can set low power disarm to ON and it will go back to 25mw once you disarm. Be aware that if you crash far away, you will lose video until you get very close. You can also set the vtx to pit mode with an aux channel if you want

I just built a whoop with the same 0802s, and it gets 50% longer flight times on the biblades than the Mob6 ELRS with 0702 26000kv. I was expecting it to be terrible.

Yeah, I've done 0702's and they seemed very under powered. Wasn't impressed. Now, maybe for ultra light whoops hovering in the 15-ish grams region, they might be fine, but otherwise, 0802's are the way to go.

yeah the green mobula 6 is genuinely bad. far too heavy and underpowered, those motors were supposed to be for the mobeetle, 5g lighter than the mob6

There aren't any true tiny whoops with DJI because the vTX weighs too much. The closest is the iFlight alpha a85. Or maybe they make an a75 version.

Dang i got to say if fatsnail comes out with a Modular Bay that you could use the avitar system on other style goggals then hands down the new hdzero goggals are looking like a good solid option. The hdzero goggals would be the first true all in one headset hmmmm

we'll been hearing the sound of music as an intro soon especially the Goat herder track.

amazing video, Joshua. I have a question: on 5:30 you say it's standard all in one flight controller with 5A. Is this *5A per motor* or for the whole board? If for motor, how can it work on 5*4=20A if ph2 connector specs says it can't get more than 5A? thanks

5A per motor. It's a max rating the motors don't pull that continuously. And PH sags voltage a lot when excess amps are pulled, which is why it's not a great connector.

It appears this quad has a linear VTX antenna? You should have used a linear omni and a linear patch on the VRX? I have the older analog Mob6 ELRS and video is great with the linear patch I have :)

Most common remote is radio matter t xxx 16s and for goggles if you're new you could wait since hd zero is expecting to release their own goggles in October. Right now I'm using fatshark hdo with the hdz video transmitter

If whoops are going to be your main focus I would get a radio with expressLRS. Seems like almost all of the whoop flight controllers are pivoting to expressLRS, which is great because frsky spi receivers blow. A radio with a 4in1 and an expressLRS module is the slightly spendy but 100% coverage option.

@@csg2000 I use Crossfire, and don't see the benefit of ELRS, for weight savings. I just weighed the smallest Crossfire receiver with the little wire "T" antenna (no Immortal T plastic holder) and some wire to solder it up with very short leads. It weighs a total of 1.2 grams! Not enough weight savings to make it worthwhile switching from Crossfire.

@@KOrnhOliO1 yeah I'm also a crossfire loyalist as well, but if I was starting fresh and looking at mostly whoops it's hard to beat the ELRS options right now.

As a noob getting into FPV and getting all my gear together I'm looking at DJI HD goggles, so I'd have to pass on this. Would be real nice if it was compatible, or DJI brought out a 1S HD vTX that would fit on a 65mm whoop. That would make a great 1st training drone, before upsizing to a 5" fully fledged freestyle drone

Analog video range on my whoop definitely has better range than the example shown here for hdzero. Does it look better than HDzero? No, but my meteor 65 definitely has less breakup at further range. I feel i can fly out further with it

That was also my experience. The HDZero video range in this video seems rather poor and I'm almost certain the analog version of this quad outperforms it in terms of range.

@@JoshuaBardwell I guess I am spoiled with great customer service such as Motion RC & other fixed wing aircraft vendors. I was very surprised that none of the people you recommended hadn’t a customer service for questions. I did get my need info, very basic as to what were the connectors on the drone, through RCGroups. I did follow you recommendations as to the radio, so you got a little commission. Compared to some of my larger models these aren’t complicated at all. Thanks for taking the time to replay, I will watch more of your videos. They are very good.
