Wow 1st time I see sakuyamon deck & I really love that playstyle. For Mother D. Reaper we all already know how broken this deck, people already predict that they will nerf mother D.reaper deck

Sakuyamon's turn took about 8 hours each. But holy crap, was that amazing. And that reaper coming in to attack those security without stop... Man this expansion is nuts.

Rika decks are the closest you can get to playing Yu-Gi-Oh in Digimon

Let’s face it. If the game didn’t end with a reaper for 5 attacks it wouldn’t be a good example of D- Reaper

Reaper definitely has one of the most unique playstyles I've ever seen. They don't follow most of the rules of the game since they aren't digimon

I’m sitting here thinking “wow sakuyamon is destroying this man’s whole career it’s not even close”… wait until the end lol

I've never seen reapers get this much pressure from another deck before that was amazing!

I’m only here to hear CP say “ Stand and Draw” it’s the way he says it that makes him sound so badass. Love the content.

The fact they added D-Reaper as a deck you could use is awesome! Always loved how creepy it was and wish they brought it back somehow as a good villian. That and at times, D-Reaper got to horror movie levels of unsettling; at least for a kids show in the us dub. Actually it reminds me a bit of later digimon like Death-X and Arkadimon in the manga. I wonder if they'd make decks for those two? Arkadimon especially as it's a rookie that was able to take down a mega-level digimon (piedmon) and eat him to evolve.

It'll seem cool, then before you know it the only people you'll feel like you are ever playing against are D-Reaper players for that format.

Wow! Recently learned (yesterday) of the new Digimon tcg, and that they rebooted the anime, so been on a binge learning the new tcg system and watching duels. This has to be the most wide eyed I've been watching! Amazing duel and I wanna build a yellow deck holy wow

@@ryandeeley3598 Guys like you screaming ban this ban that with every expansion are funny and have no clue about how Bandai bans things if they ever do. They ban or limit cards extremely rarely and just for a card being better than average doesn't justify a band or limitation. For a matter of fact, this deck is good but not even tier 1.

@@kaen4299 but there really is no strategy against that deck besides rush it. If anything it hurts the game by making decks that aren't fast enough worthless. you can't even get rid of mother either. blue can't even tough its digivolution cards. like it is a cool concept but reaper definitely shouldn't be aloud to attack through a full stack of security like that. sure there are decks that can swing for a lot of security out there but at least players have the ability to get rid of the cards that set it up.

I hope more decks like D-Reaper is created. Like Yggdrassil, Mother Eaters, and other non-digimon combatants.

Well, Yggdrasil happened as a deck.

This game ended up being really funny to me, the reapers really were just sitting there while Sakuyamon flailed about, and on the very turn before Sakuyamon was set to win, the reaper put them in their place with a single card and won

@@flan537 Depends on how the player build the D-reaper deck. Mixing color with either Yellow or Black will give some form of interaction (killing off Opponent field lol). And yes, This deck is a ticking time bomb and you can only faster than it, or pray you have a Removal Option (if you played them) in the security as the "Reaper" can be affected by Option card. (Ice wall and Hammer Spark is also a great choice as it ends the Reaper attack) OR Your deck have field removal capabilities (cleaning off the Reaper board early game) OR your digimon have effect that can attack a unsuspended digimon, and attack the Mother D-reaper.

Yep, with that and hybrids the meta is fully full face rush, with little strategy. I hate it.

I was really into the D-Reaper aesthetic but was worried if the deck was any good. Then that last turn happened and it was amazing. Bullshit? Kinda. Reminds me of Goblin Belcher from MtG where you kinda win if you get to 7 (lands).

Seems vulnerable to blockers as well as strong security cards such as gaia force/ wyverns breath (wont kill out right but will turn him to 2k for the turn.)

It’s far worse, and you can’t stop it and it is not held back by inconsistency.

Jeez... that last turn shows how strong it can be but it needs a lot of setup to have so many searchers in the trash pile.

the reaper deck is like a time boom, if you dont beat it fast enough you lose... LOVE IT Love you videos and im always happy when i see one of them posted !

Really shows that D-Reaper is a little too pushed. This is the optimal playline for Sakuyamon. You can't have a better start than this, but it still can't beat Reaper. If the Sakuya Deck didn't start on such a nutdraw, this game wouldn't have been close at all...

It was favourable for the D-Reaper as well since it was building up to that last turn. Just because nothing crazy happened during all the turns before doesn't mean it wasn't ideal for D-Reaper. Cards like ice wall and removal heavy decks shut it down rather easily.

@@kaen4299 I disagree a lot. Because you can't shut it down, in fact, since you can't answer either Mother D-Reaper or Reaper directly. Your best options are that Reaper hits something that instantly kill it on security, and the decks that have tons of options that can do that depend heavily on levels, such as BT08 Maste or more than a few purple options that Three Musketeer might play. Fly bullet won't do much, and it's unlikely that bullet showering will actually hit the Reaper. What you can interact with is the other reapers like Jery, but it still doesn't trully stop Mother D-Reaper, it only slows it down, but it still advances, and rather fast at that. Specially because the cards that will allow the deck to advance become cheaper and cheaper and it's easier to trigger their effects. And then, it also has very good security eff digimons, like Gatekeeper that gives you recovery and when you are close to end the game it creates yet another wall by giving AoE negative sec. And the problem is that these removal heavy decks are rather slow, by definition. So even if you can kill absolutely everything the reaper plays you are still not able to deal with the at least one seeker per turn Mother is absorbing. Ice Wall does buy you one turn. But only one. And now it's limited too. No, the answer against D-Reaper is not control. It's some form of rush. Kill it before it has any chance to advance any battle plan. It does not sound fun to either play or play against. It seems like a very stale gameplay

@@SelvenXXUP It's not a guessing game anymore at this point, you should watch some of the japanese meta games, it's been shown plenty that it can be countered by removals already, especially when they appear in security, a lot, which is rather consistent in removal heavy decks, obviously. Especially in sec control, where there is not only a way to get security back but where the chance is also high to check removal cards.

I really like how both of you guys showcased each of the potential of both builds. Also seeing the D-REAPER brought back painful Leomon memories

OTK D-Reaper! I love how different that deck is from everything else, in design and playstyle. Truly fits a "villainous" theme. Especially after the Sakuyamon deck had amazing combos. It all felt useless at the end. I imagine if there were stronger security cards, it may not have gone so smoothly. Great game as always!

That Sakuyamon deck is crazy! It seems really fun to play, and really thematic!

Yo!! If it weren’t for the fact that D-Reaper is the most unfair and Strongest deck of all time Sakuyamon would be a MENACE in this set! Love to see it!

Sakuyamon holy! Yellow's turn was a whole 4 minutes long (starting at 3:00), and he was going at a good pace too... I just hope this game doesn't turn into Yugioh with there 20 minute combo turns.

That D-reaper comeback was super nutty, can't believe he won an almost impossible to win situation

Just read about those two decks. Sakuyamon performed better than what most people write. It probably draw insane but every evolution and option card replacing itself makes the deck functional. And that gatekeepers were insane.

Would really love to see a Behind the Scenes video on how you guys make these. I feel so inspired to make videos like this and I'd love to know your process.

Ex 2 has some insane deck cores! I love both of these but my childhood crush on Rika really excites me for the Renamon deck.

I wanted to know what is the music that they used in this battle? I don't know why, but those beeps and bops just make me vibe real good.

Holy heck, Sakuyamon with the Ruki tamer and Plug-In S just combos forever! The TCG tutorial app really only shows you the basics of what's possible in this game. I was thinking of starting with a Dukemon deck, but Sakuyamon is really making me reconsider. Did you ever play with a SaintGargomon-based deck? I love Tamers a lot so I'm hoping that Terriermon can keep up with its two comrades.

Gargomon actually looks really fun especially when played with golden Rapidmon from BT8. You unsuspend your opponent and then gain benefits by doing so. I mean you can say that this theme has been there from the very beginning for green but with the Gargomon deck it feels way more aggressive. Gallantmon is the most straight up deck from them, has strong options and focus on deletion but you rarely will see long turns like that. The turns are usually short but nasty.

I just wonder if the Kyubimon could have searched for something during the evolution onto of Pulsemon.

HOLY SHIT! What a battle. That was so amazing definitely one of your guys best. First we had Beelzemon vs Gallatmon(just like the anime lol) and now we got D-Reaper vs Sykuomon, what a way for the new year to start. Keep up the great work you guys and thanks a lot for this one. I've been loving this new tcg so much I have an idea of so many decks from almost every set, but God damn they stepped it up with EX2. I feel in love with D-Reaper and can't wait for it to come to the English format

Very cool decks! D-Reaper is much simpler to play than I thought it would be when the cards were first revealed. I do worry that Sakuyamon will be a popular deck when we get to EX02 in English. Honestly, I don't really want to sit around for that long watching my opponent trigger one effect after another, it's part of why I stopped playing YGO competitively. It kinda does EVERYTHING. You get draw from your sources, you control the board with DP based deletion, you get to unsuspend, you get to gain memory and recycle options to loop. It seems like we're going to have to start playing 4 copies of emergency program shutdown to try and keep all the options in check.

That plug-in option card flip had me hollering. The work and tiny details you guys add to your videos are absolutely amazing.

I thought Paddy had Cardprotagonist. Sakuyamon just kept putting pressure to D-reaper with all those inheritable abilities & plug-in options but that comeback from behind with reaper did a five security strike in one go.

well, unless the 3rd sakuyamon was different from the other 2, he should've won there, because when digivolving he could have unsuspended any digimon and attacked directly to finish the game

I don't know how to feel about D-Reaper/ADR cards. I don't know what it is, but something about them just doesn't seem fun.

Sorry but i disagree dont you see the cost to win you need a lot a searchers unless there is a way to send it to graveyard and get the attacker you are sitting duck even in that match its almost like 5 to zero security

@@reyvanoss From all the playtesting and local tournaments I've seen, building your board with Reapers is easy to achieve as it can cycle effectively due to the high number of Searchers it plays. In most game states, it puts your opponent on a timer, forcing them to play risky. This deck is always one good draw away from gaining massive tempo. Any archetype with an almost guaranteed win con like this one is just bad card design. Aside from security bombs, nothing is stopping Reaper from sweeping your security. This deck doesn't have to fear early game swings if the end result is just a sweep. This video is an example of this exact point. The Tsukuyamon player carefully built his board, went for lethal, hit GateKeeper in security, then immediately lost the next turn. Plus, you can also stop chip swings by teching in cards like Final Zubagon Punch to turn Mother Reaper into a blocker with Reboot. This shows that swinging into Reapers can be risky due to GateKeeper. Not only would it negate your chip damage you're also giving them a huge blocker for free. As an archetype, it does _way_ too much, and by design, it limits player interaction. Local results show that a lot of tier 1 decks have to build around Reapers, and even then, a lot of strong decks don't stand a chance. Any archetype that forces every other deck to play its game is not a sign of balance.

For a moment I forgot that one searched was sent to the trash from security, that gave Protagonist 8 Searched to swing 5 times with Reaper.

D-Reaper was the final boss in Digimon Tamers (the third season with Takato/Guilmon as the lead)

I think the deck would be stronger if it ran 4 Sakuyamon and 4 LordKnightmon. I feel the unsuspend effect of Sakuya would synergize better with LKM if evolved on top of a hard played Knightmon

I guess, but putting in LKM and KM would take away too many cards that synergise well with the deck. And KM would only -4000 once. Where as, well.......you saw that big brain play with taking out those two Gatekeepers. I say it would lose a lot of its strength if you brought in LKM, much less LKM and KM.

@@POIUYTREWQ62 The goal wouldn't exactly be to kill stuff by DP, rather to swarm the field with bodies coming down at no cost that you can accelerate by swinging several times with LKM. I don't think Sakuyamon on its own is that great, to be honest. She herself is only 11k and thus can die on the check against almost any 11k. Evolving via the green plugin means you need yo commit to an attack and your whole play is ruined if and you need too much setup and too many different cards. Having so many options in the deck can also lead to more bricking, specially since they're all different colors that need a Tamer to be played in the first place. A first hand with 3 plugin and no tamer may spell a lost game right away. Pulling down 1 Knightmon for 4K + Pickmon is about the same as using a plugin with Sakuyamon and one relevant ESS. The difference is that attacking with LKM gives you a body in the field that you can evolve into Sakuyamon to unsuspend LKM to swing again for Starmon, Bushiagumon, Renamon to search for Rika, Gladimon to search for cards and evolve into Taomon to play a Rika, or another Knightmon for more level 5s. Not to mention how LKM benefits from Security Check +1 or Jamming plugins. I feel the cards synergize very well.

Both these decks look so exciting and i cant wait for their English release
