Digging In A Bottle Dump
Ойын-сауық
Join me on a short journey to dig bottles and other treasures at an old municipal bottle dump. I find a few neat specimens to add to my collection and also stumble across a couple abandoned homeless camps.

And don’t ever change that, Chigg.
You are living the dream , I myself also truly enjoy the hobby of bottle and relic hunting. Up here in Ontario Canada, there's a small village called Paris and I've been quite lucky hunting there . I've found a beautiful green crackle cream server as well as an ink bottle from the 1700s. I'll be heading back there this summer to continue my search . I also 100% agree with your views on people throwing their garbage bags and junk into the woods, it pees me off as well . Considering that we have garbage transfer stations and dumps available these days . once again I'm happy I subscribed to your channel and quite enjoy your personality and your videos .Best regards from Lloyd way up here in the north . ( not really! I'm just across the New York border ).have a great day eh!
Diggin' for bartles!
The way you conduct you videos makes me feel like I'm really there with you! Nice job
I don't know if I've ever mentioned this before but it's kinda freaky how you just happen to answer things as I'm thinking them more times than I'd care to admit .This bottle dump would be a dream come true
Awesome video. A good friend collects bottles and sells them. His collection blew my mind, he actually put two kids through college selling bottles. Wish you could see his collection. Keep your videos coming. Love your work.
Yes! Bottle dump time! I hit these when I go back to the farm in ND and love it.
It is one of my favorite pastimes, bottle digging. You I've also found a lot of abandoned camps like that. Some of the clothing was clean,so I launder it and donate it to charity rather than just watch it go to waste. And , some of it I wear! In my size! I once found several good cans of Alaska smoked salmon! Yum!
All of your videos are just the absolute best!!!! I have been binge watching the crap out of them like crazy for the past few weeks can I learn something new every time. I have always been a huge fan and would love to meet you and go exploring with you som day. Thank you for all that you do and for who you are. Much love from Marion, Indiana ❤️😎
Diggin' Chiggin' diggin' :)
Keep diggin Chigg! Thanks for the adventure!
You once took us to a creek where insulators were scattered everywhere and gathered in one spot. I am an avid insulator collector and have always waited for you to take us back there. So many insulators are worth a great deal of money. Think about going there again, Beau. Thanks
me and my 5 year old love watching your videos you rock he loves treasure hunting
This is my favorite past time. I look for old bottles and sell them, easy money. good stuff.
my dad dug bottles for years he has a amazing collection. Iv picked up bottles here and there but I like hunting fossils, Iv found this river spot recently that during the dry season you can find all kinds of prehistoric goodies, bring on the good weather !!
I remember 25 years ago in central North Carolina digging bottles from an old house back in the woods. The latest bottles were from the 40's and we dug quite a few dating back to the 1870's and 1880's. I doubt such sites are as common today.
Thank you for your quirky and informative channel.its one of the first things I check out after work each night.i love the civil war and bottle hunting stuff.gotta go for now because I must attend to the campfire as we are making S'MOARS tonight.
Wow shot show! That sounds like so much fun! Congrats!
Speaking of digging in a dump I need to clean out my tool shed too. :)- Nice dig.
I love bottle dump diving!
What a great place to explore.
The purple coloring you are describing is called sca or Sun colored amethyst. It has to do with magnesium in the glass. When exposed to uv rays from the sun, it starts getting a Smokey color.... continues on until very deep purple. You can irradiate them to speed process!

Great video!
Nice finds bud.. I like the blue glass bottles best..
Keep up the good work.
Aquachigger, when going through these old dump sites keep in mind stirring up dust. There is a high chance that asbestos is mix in. Although when it comes to asbestos, it isn't short exposure that is bad, it is prolonged exposure.
hey aquachigger, new subscriber my husband and I love your show my husband does the metal detecting and I have found a new hobby, bottle digging and walking streams I very much like all the civil war stuff cool love history got a garret pin pointer for Christmas and I will be getting myself a garret metal detector at some point, you sold me on the A T pro , you just can't beat a day walking through the woods thx for the info. and entertainment Joanne & Ron
Nice video Aquachigger, That 1923 Coca-cola bottle was starting to be made by the date, until the next patent date. I think it was 1926 or 1929. So that was a good Coca-cola bottle find. The ones in the late 30's and all dates after 1939, weren't showing the patent dates like that. They had a weird number in the middle of the dates of numbers and letters,, Like 55, was on there for some reason, even on the 30's and 40's ones. Nice find!
love your videos. keep it up buddy.
Finding bottles during the summer sucks balls; best time is the winter. Anyways, I wish I could have dug in the 60s and 70s when all the town and city bottle dumps were undug. I can't tell you how many town dumps Ive found and privies just to find they've already been dug. Guess I need to go to southern WV and middle of nowhere areas where people just do heroin and don't care about bottles. Most of the stuff has been dug up already here in Pittsburgh. Found one good dump this year but it was around 1915 era. Half machine made and half hand tooled. Every dump or dig Ive found has been 1890s-1960s. All the good pontil glass is long dug around here or under cement. However, Im pretty sure I found some virgin 1870s-90s bottle dumps today along a river bank. Dug for about ten min and a bunch of 1880s bottle shards came out of the dirt and a nice intact but tiny sample bottle of Rubifoam, but it was getting dark by the time I found the dump. Going back tomorrow, fingers crossed.
What I like with bottles is the ones from my child hood because now everything is plastic and call me crazy I now want the glass bottles. 🙃
love the videos!
Great bottle hunt :)
I've recently found an old bottle dump on a friend of mines land. She gave me permission to dig. Your vids are so inspiring. Youre very handsome as well 😉
Wow!
Just discovered your channel. Love it. Great job!
I bet the patent date on the Coke bottle is Dec 25, 1923 ... a "Christmas Coca-Cola" bottle - which is a nice collectible. The bottles with the Xmas date were produced from 1928 to 1938.
i love your videos i wait every spring and summer to go bottle digging and metel detecting i have a wall 50 feet long full of bottles and jars i have dug.
Love the red tater.
You're missing the top and bottom metal half shells for that Lightning Arrestor, if you had both with a name plate from Westinghouse they go for up to as much as $200. Joseph Slepin helped improve them, he died in Dec 1969 was born in the late 1800s. He worked at Westinghouse for 40 years improving Lightning Arrestors, Fuse Boxes, etc.. They handled I believe 12kv of energy, similar to what you got in states back east for your roof top in case lightning struck. The Benjamin Franklin family still sells them to residents for protection. When I was in PA we had lightning all the time on hot summer nights and they always were hitting your backyard or taking out another tree on your property.
Holy crap dude. I've been watching you for some time, about when you had 100,000 subscribers. I stop watching you for a couple months and I return and now you have 600k!
The end was funny, A POTATO lol
Awesome
There's a fish in the percolator!
Neat finds
Have fun next week! Wish I could be there! Another awesome dig! I think you should have kept the top to the lightening bowl, I think it's rare to have them together, lol! All the very best and safe travels next week!
Another great video and i hope your situation have improved.
Anywhere there are Dec 25 Cokes, good places to dig. Oh, went inside a fast food place today and was wearing my green Chigg's Army T-Shirt. A guy in his late 60's or so recognized the Chiggs and we had some good conversation about MOAR!!!!!
Haha, Good show man.
I didnt realize how long this video was untill i saw the potato. haha. no need to worry, i love your videos. Wish I knew about some cool areas around here I live. Looks like an awesome hobby!
Hey aquachigger I'm a big fan I've been here since 21k

did good. i got 2 good jar's last week. $20.00. keep up the good work. and have a good day.
One of the women I use to work with repairs antique stain glass windows. She told me that red glassware before a certain date actually contains GOLD to achieve that color in the glass. Sadly I can't remember the years . I'm sure I could Google it, but there's the idea for ya at least to be on the lookout for. :D edited for my spelling mistakes... :D
Apart from all the cool digging I love how you manage to implement internet jokes into your videos. I wish Las Vegas wasn't a couple light years away from Germany, I would love to shake hands :)
Well done nice video liked that lightning arrester also.. Take care and happy hunting ... BigfootDigger

Hey Aquachigger, Love your channel and videos. I live in California I found a bottle down by the mokelumne river.A ponds extract with 1846 on the bottom of the bottle. It has some kind of cut stone in the middle of the lead spout. Either crystal or glass I cant find another one like it on the internet. 171 years old there's a picture of it on my channel
A lightning arrester? Dude, those are pretty cool.
We have a really neat insane asylum near me that used the gully behind the hospital as their dump. digging back there is like a 100 year old time capsule!

Hey Chigg, do you remember the video where you were in a small creek and found a bunch of embossed Hagerston bottles? I was drooling over how old and perfect they were. You were just like "Oh so what" and left without cleaning them out. Man that looked like a sweet spot to me.
i freakin love your vids keep doin what ur doin
Love you videos. I would love to have your autograph and that of nugget noggin. Sadly I cannot go to the show. I hope y'all have a great time.
