    I been thinking about adding a small pond in my front yard. been on my mind for a while now. if I can locate a decent deal on a liner and some rocks and boulders I want to make it a fast moving creek that dumps in one pond and then travels down and dumps into another pond. I will need to use a pump though to keep the flow moving fast all the time. I was thinking of using an old two speed pump motor from a hot tub. I have several of those laying around here.

    Very good. Just found this. I, too, like to help people. However, being in UK, there are virtually zero people who want to help without "compensation". Too many limeys are too interested in their own wallets and even then you'll be lucky to get 0.30¢ on the buck (30p on the £) when you get any work done over here. No wonder buildings in UK look and feel like crap and roads are crap and under continual construction. I'll view a few more of your vids. You have a good/kind attitude. Very best Dave. 👍

    Good stuff Dave. Up here in Quebec, pond dredging is often done when the ground and the pond water are just starting to freeze so that when you dig, all the water and mud stays in your bucket. A trailer that contains all the material is handy to haul the load away with your 4X4 pickup truck. Every situation has its own different requirements, as long as you're not cold and wet.

It was pretty funny when you said your dog wanted you to get down off the tractor and take a good whiff of the deer pee (ha ha ha....yep, I can just see the dog's expression). Man, it sure is pretty in those woods. I'll make a video where I travel through my thick woods and let you imagine cutting your way through this thick stuff. It's a chore! Enjoyed your video. I love driving through there. it was fairly thick through here as well but a few years ago a logging company did a select cut. that thinned it out a bit. plus I backed down through here with the brush hog a few times. then drug the box blade through it. the big trees that were in my way I took out with the backhoe. now I have a nice trail I can walk or ride down. since then I big tree have fallen over the back side so I cant make a complete loop until I clean that up. I spent a lot of hours in the woods as a child growing up so I do enjoy a drive through and the sound of that spring running up out the ground really soothes my worry mind. its good medicine being in the woods. look forward to seeing your up coming video.

    Dave, adding fluid to the tire can't hurt the wheel bearings it only lowers the center of gravity. also lowering the backhoe will help.

    tom doore not sure what the reason is but the owners manual with most all these tractors specify not to load the tires of tractors when using a backhoe installed. It gave no reason why so bearing wear due to excessive weight was merely speculation on my part. I have since been told it's due to over traction from the combined weight of loaded tires and backhoe installed.

    well I have had both john deere kubota and farmall tractors and they are all great tractors more alike than different. I do prefer the kubota as quality is top shelf and at a price point that is very good for that level of quality. I love the hydrostatic drive and I image that would work great on hillsides and save on roll aways and clutch wear.

    thanks yes we have loads of regulations with waterways and flood plains as well. this is actually a spring about 20 yards away and that spring has to be cleaned out every few years because it mixes with storm water from all the housing developments that have been added in. if anyone messed up anything around here it was the builders who altered the storm run off and natural creek beds. trying to keep the ground water and storm water out of this spring is a full time job. they use to drink that water but not so daring these days. right now I'm fighting a coyote problem. they are every where out here. some big ones to. worried about the deer and the rabbit population. these coyotes are nasty animals. even killing pets and running off with them.

    I hear your concerns about rolling over. I had a guy build extensions for the front and back to widen the ground contact, 5" each wheel on the back and 3" each on the front. Worked out perfect for the kabota. Then use window washer fluid in the rear tires and you're so much better in business.

  • @daveknowshow

    @daveknowshow

    I thought about wheel spacers and adding wheel ballast but since I have a backhoe loaded tires is a no no, as well as wheel spacers. the backhoe simply weighs to much and the additional weight would stress the axle bearing and axle shafts. I just have to be cautious and I'm likely a bit over cautious most of the time. even still I have come close to rolling over a couple tractors in my lifetime. scary stuff.

    daveknowshow me too! The old Long tractor we have is very sure footed. My farm is in hilly Rustin Loam soils. Without the extensions and rear wheel weighing the kabota we have is far too dangerous. But now it's such a huge difference although I'm still experimenting with it. I didn't consider the backhoe you have. Personally I'm safety first. If it breaks my tractor so be it. But the dealer sales rep didn't believe it was a problem and didn't blame me for the modification. One thing is for sure, the role bar you have on your tractor is designed for more then what a role could cause so that's some comfort. If I could only remember to put my seatbelt on every time.

    did this for a neighbor who planned to put fish in but never did. right now its a nice little wading pool full of frogs and a sandy bottom. its fed by a natural spring so water is constantly moving even in the worse drought conditions here I have never seen it not flowing pretty good. I tell you the backhoe is an amazing tool to have as an option. same neighbor had a main water line bust on his rental property I went over and dug it out for the replacement and that created about 1500.00 in my pocket cash. then my septic tank had an issue and I dug it up in the middle of the night and fixed it myself cost me about 10 dollars in fuel and about 10 dollars in PVC fittings. a job that had I called in a company they would have likely contacted the county making it a bigger issue than it really was so they could line their pockets. septic systems in our specific area can cost 30 thousand dollars easy since every time the least little thing goes wrong in this area they want to insist you install one of those pete - moss engineered systems that are extremely over priced. an if you don't have the room for a new drain field they condemn the home. its a real racket with these septic companies around here. we have ours inspected by law every 3 to 5 years and every time I make sure I'm there and let them know that I know what is going on. every time they say my system is the best they have ever seen and what ever I'm doing keep doing it. bottom line this backhoe has made this tractor pay for itself with in the first 2 years that I owned it. I don't use it as much lately but when I do need it I just toss her on and a way I go!. heck I cant count how many dead animals I have buried with this thing. mostly rotting deer that were shot by hunters and made their way here and died in the woods behind the property. my dog eats them if I don't burry them and the county wont pick them up unless they are in the state maintained road. lol so it does get used right much. fun to play with to. let my great nephew who is like 4 years old run it last month and he had a ball! I'm now his favorite Uncle Bubba! lol

I just cant wrap my head around making videos with ONLY entertainment value. I prefer to make videos that actually teach something of value. don't get me wrong sometimes I do make the entertainment value videos myself just to keep my view count up where it needs to be to stay monetized. most of my views are on my older videos that show how to use various implements and set them up. so right now with all these subs I get about a hundred bucks every 4 or 5 months. I could increase that by putting multiple advertisements in each video but I prefer to use only one ad per video at the beginning. not ten ads one every 5 minutes like a lot of youtube creators. hope that helps. there are guys making big money on youtube but you have to play the youtube game and keep them subs coming in. I don't make videos for that I simply make videos to help folks. a few people have sent me donations via paypal and that has helped offset cost a little. I just enjoy hearing from folks that my methods have helped them and they are seeing great results. whether that's from my digital camera how to video, electric motor video or tractor related video it just feels good to know I helped someone.

    mine is an L2800 I honestly have never wished for a larger tractor. before I got this tractor I used a kubota mx5100 I think was the number. it was like 50 some horsepower. it was hard to use in confined areas. there have been times I could have used a smaller tractor because the area I was working was so small and tight to turn around in. I'm glad I did not go smaller though because the extra weight and power is a huge help. I firmly believe the Lord put this tractor in my path and its the right tractor for me. tractors in the 30 hp range are the most popular and have the best resale value. mine is 28hp so its right there in the right spot not to big but not so small either. when I'm having a bad day I fire up the kubota and move some dirt or just take a drive in the woods or around the block even. I generally come back smiling! :) I really appreciate you watching my channel.

As you say , tomorrow is not guaranteed at all , i dont know if you re a christian or not but id like to quickly tell you the message of the Bible : Man is separated from God because of sin but God sent His Son Jesus as a sacrifice for our sin , Jesus came , He died on a cross , He rose again on the third day and He`s asking us to turn from our sin and receive Him as our savior , if we do that we receive forgiveness for our sin and become saved by faith in Jesus .
