My family love our trips to Williamsburg and Jamestown! My mother’s family were mostly from Great Britain and one ancestor arrived to a Virginia colony in 1648 and the other was traced back to Pocahontas and John Rolfe. Most of my ancestors from VA eventually migrated into NC and have been here since. I love this history. ❤️

I am looking forward to following this summer's work. I have always been fascinated by the early contact period of Native Americans and European colonists. Thank you for (as I understand it) an ongoing narrative of the archaeological process and the resulting findings. Brilliant archaeology - excellent videos!

This is both exciting and sad at the same time. First: the research that is continuing to be done. Second: that the water is encroaching on the land. Making it smaller. And that the land is sinking. Are there any plans to address these problems? It really would be a shame to lose these wonderful historical landscapes.

Seeing all that water on this incredibly important sites makes my heart ache. At least it is being investigated, when originally most thought it had already been washed away and there was no reason to bother. "Dirt Surgeon". I like it, I'd buy a tshirt with that on it.

Thanks so much for keeping us up on the latest. I am so envious of those kids out there getting to dig up great stuff!!! I would have loved doing that when I was younger...but all this didn't hit upon my radar till I was much older. So sad, but at least one can get excited at watching all this great stuff happening now, (thanks to your video crew)!! All my good wishes are there with you all in hopes you can beat the water to more significant finds! And, have to add, gotta love the diligent first people still wanting to have their land ..after 400 years! minus the white eyes, can't say I blame them. We white folk seem to be good at takeing, using up and tossing away with little regard for the future. Maybe our children will do better! Thank you again! Y'all are just tops in my book. Do you ever take on retired professors that just want to volunteer. I might have some skin in the game as I believe myself to be descended from one of the three John Brewer's that lived in Jamestown, the Isle of Wight and the Brewer Boroughs. I can't think of anything more meaningful than troweling some dirt that my ancestors may have walked on. 🙂

If you watch their whole library of videos, they have found tons of Native American artifacts as well as English items. I wish so much I could visit and see the museum.

It has Always Saddened me the lack of Respect for this site! As if America has any more History!!

It's surprising to see mostly female students working there. When watching videos where professional archaeologists are working around the world, I see mostly males at those sites. Is there a changing of the demographics within the archaeology community?
