Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. I have COPD and I have been using oxygen for about 12 years. I have been using when I sleep unless I need at other times. I can't imagine life without my concentrator. I can't imagine years ago when an oxygen tent was needed to breath. I will continue watching your videos because I know I will learn a lot. I felt alone at times because I did not know anyone who used a concentrator, I have flown with it and it really is quite easy. Thank you again for sharing.

It’s so scary to know that one day any portable concentrator will stop working for most of us because of its limited use. I think I got to that point as I notice just walking I need to put my inogen 1 at 5l and my O2 still stays around 88 just light walking. Any lung condition or lung disease is so aweful. I pray something helps us all.

Hi Kim I have Sarcoidosis at Stage 4 (Lung Fibrosis) - this video has helped me a great deal - Thanks. I need to get out and about more as steroids have made me put weight on. I can’t walk very far as I get too breathless so a POC will probably be appropriate for me atm. Thanks....

Just wondering what your level of oxygen is. My mom has COPD and she’s at level 3. She has big oxygen tanks and she still has times that she would go to emergency room because breathing gets bad,. I cant convince her that the portable mini machine would not be beneficial to her. When she goes out she gets tired after 2 hours. Thank you for this video, it explains a lot. You sound and look very healthy

I have copd and just recently my Dr. Put on oxygen. I just again started taking quercetin 800mg a day. And that helps keep my airways open so I can breath. I hope this helps. Also make sure to take your iron and natural vitamin C helps to absorb iron. Also vitamin E is very important since it brings oxygen to all parts of your body.

TNK U KIM--THIS IS THE FIRST YOU TUYBE ABOUT O2 USERS I've come accross in over 2 yrs now!The portables are nice, but expensive( $3-5,000) and like your home unit? Best get a 2nd one after a Yr on using the 1st one( These Units, like the home units need Seriving and under Normal Conditons takes 2-3 wks and have it back, but with this C19 virus? one of mine too 8 wks turnaround time..while some are taking advantage of this to tell you they can Air Drop a New Unit in just 2-3 days for juat another Few Hundred more..Nice Hustle.. thus only for the Middle and Upper Income peopl.. and sorry, but Medicarfe or Medicade doesn't pay for Portables.. just get 6 -M^ tanks and a black bag hold, ave 2 hrs per tank..Most of us having COPD are also too weak to do much traveling and are Seniors as well..bd as rimw goes vye> youk will need the ave of 1 LPM every yr, thus needing 6-8 L{PMs just walking arouind the House to and from Bedroom or Bathroom? Just buy a USED 5LPM unit and use 1 with a Nose Can. and the other with a Full Maks, set both at 4 LPM and in 5 min your back into the 70's-80's.. And the Chinease made ones are So QUITE and cost only $400 ave..Also? You can now Buy a 2 hr pwr. inverter to provide ac pwr for 2 hrs using a small lithium c ar battery and inverter,,Lithium Car Battery type a=with the AC invertor and plug in your Home Pwr'd AC unit into it..and the cost is less than $150..-$200 for a 3-4 hr .. Be Cautious out there! Dennis- 1965 Veteran and Now COPD and Disabled in a Chair all day.. Peace Brother and Sisters..

My late husband hoarded the metal tanks... He was scared of running out of oxygen. We moved to Kentucky in 2008. Jackie ( my husband ) had me put every cylinder in his Saturn. I had to drive from Dayton, Ohio to Cynthania Kentucky with a car load of tanks. Now that I'm on oxygen I'm petrified of those tanks. I need oxygen when I go out of my house to go shopping or to pay bills. I'm on Medicare/Medicaid ( CareSource My Case Ohio ) now, just wondering which unit I could get.

Im looking for alternatives. I have COPD, will see pulmonologist for first time since hospital diagnosed me last year when I had severe pneumonia. They put me on oxygen concentrator and ETanks since we live full time in RV. Needless to say, mot every RV camp has hook ups. We tried using generator but it went out and here I was, 9000 elevation no oxygen. Tanks with two hours dont cut it, fine for day time but forget sleeping. So thats where we are at, I need a portable that can run all night. Even if its just at 2-3 liters, its better than nothing. Anyways so looks like we will have to fight to get portable, it just blows my mind how difficult they make it to get oxygen. I wonder if say, worse case scenario, if there way to set up Etanks for more than two hours. Homeless people must just die with COPD, hospital sends them out with one etank and says adios good luck. Gotta love our health care 😔

my advice is to stay close to home if you require O2. Can`t understand how someone can go far away from where there is no electricity and who requires O2 constantly. That would scare the heck out of me.

They also require a prescription from your doctor so buying one in case someone needs it is not practical.

  • @Rhawkeye

The liquid oxygen systems also deliver oxygen up to 6 L/min. These also do not require electricity. Liquid oxygen is stored in a large stationary vessel from which the patient can fill a small portable tank. An oxygen concentrator uses room air filters it delivers oxygen that is “concentrated” but this method requires the concentrator to be plugged in at all times. This is fresh in my mind as I am in the midst of teaching oxygen therapy to my students. Here are my credentials MSN, APRN, FNP-C

    * They took my Liquid Tank away from me because it was TooLabor Intensive & I was not using High Enough level of flow. My small fanny pack lasted me up to 6 hours & I miss it.. I used a Pulse/Ox monitor so I could reduce the flow while at rest. and increase it during stress.. The small Etanks are Extremely heavy & stress me badly to wear them or carry them. My needs have gone up from 2 liters to 3 liters in the last 2 years.. Thanks for showing the third source. They really do Resist Liquid Tanks. I am glad you got the small 18 hour tank..

Why do you use 2 tanks for your oxygen therapy instead of emptying one when you are using 6 lpm. I do know Dan feels better on liquid oxygen than his brand new home concentrator from supplier he is at 10 lpm exertion and 6 at rest.

Hi Cindy, my large tanks only go up to 6 lpm. I use 8 lpm, so need a "Y" to connect the two to get 8 lpm. I set each tank on 4, to get a total of 8 lpm flowing to my cannula. I hope that explanation helps. If I was only on 6 lpm, I would only use one tank at a time.
