These are the most common types of antique kerosene lamps that one typically runs into. They are very useful, even today, for back-up light and heat during a power cut. Considered here is the ubiquitous flat-wick lamp, the "barn lantern", night light, center draft and mantle (Aladdin) type lamps. Several of these types are still being made today, and wicks for all of them are available online.
