Good video - thank you for emphasizing the overlap! My Wicca is polytheist and heavily folklore-oriented, as well as LGBTQ2SIA-inclusive. I regard the Horned God and the Moon Goddess as patron deities of the Craft. They’re not embodiments or amalgams of other deities. I also don’t add a narrative of the God and the Goddess to the festivals of the Wheel of the Year. The differences between the circle and the compass were fascinating, thank you. I also recommend my videos on The Wiccan Rede and the (frequently misquoted and misunderstood) so-called “law of three”, which is not what most people think.

When people ask if our Coven is Wicca or Traditional Witchcraft: yes.

Thanks for sharing this! I consider myself an Eclectic Witch. I started out with Wicca but then branched out from there learning from various traditions and choosing what feels right. I recently discovered Traditional Witchcraft when I found your book and channel and so much of it resonates with me. I still use some of the practices of Wicca...I both cast a circle or lay a compass depending on the purpose are of my ritual. And I agree that there are definitely more similarities between the two and that can be a good thing. I would love to see both these paths share ideas and support each others similarities as well as differences more often.

As an eclectic Witch, I incorporate both Wicca and Traditional Witchcraft into my practice

Thank you for this video. I am an eclectic witch and I do shamanic journey work as part of my practice. I typically cast a circle before journey work. I have heard the term laying a compass but have never understood the difference. Thank you so much for the explanation. If it’s something you would consider, I would love to see a video that explains laying a compass and it’s use in more detail. I have not come across this in the books I have read. Thank you so much! I have some research to do now!

I love this video I just realized that my notifications were not on so I have not been getting them for new uploads from you. So little late but love the video. And you're absolutely right, it's all a part of the same tree!!! Which makes it even worse why people fight so much against each other when we were all part of the same family. Just different branches.

Given that TradCraft is much more folklore than most Wiccan Traditions. I guess I am a very odd combination of the two. I was Initiated into an Eclectic Wiccan Tradition , but then spent a little over 20yrs researching into my Tribal Heritage. A Coven brother of mine says I created a Unique Tradition that he has labeled "Chicka - Wicca" because I am focusing on Chickasaw Indian lore.

I think this topic is really difficult especially since there are many diffrent Wicca traditions.A solitary or eclectic Wiccan might also follow some aspects of traditonal witchcraft so they are somehow practicing both things.

I actually agree with Trad Craft and Wicca not being all that different really. Wicca tends to be a little more authorative and Goddess-based in my experience, but other than the origins and a few beliefs, they are really similar. I never really resonated with Wicca because of the rules and the emphasis on ceremonial craft however it is based on some aspects of Trad Craft as well a Rosicrucianism/Hermeticism. I honor a Horned God and some Goddesses associated with the Moon but to me neither of those are the only masks of reality or the creator deities. For the God, for example, there are youthful aspects and hermit aspects, which not all Horned deities embody (and yes there are a few horned Goddesses!), and one Goddess I work with a lot is a Sun Goddess, which is not really a concept in the more traditional Wiccan circles, because somehow the sun is always male and the moon female (Norse, Japanese and Egyptian myth say otherwise!). As for the Father and Mother, they are both genderfluid in my gnosis. One presents more masculine and the other feminine but neither are inherently male or female. They are simply the light and shade of the Twisting Serpent Path, and I the child walking betwix them, as we all are.

Humans like to create straight lines; you on one side and me on the other. "There are no straight lines in nature" Let us just be the craft and enjoy our walk on the winding path...wherever it takes us.

after studying (the surface of) Wicca as practiced in North America, i found my way to Satanism, which eventually led me to traditional witchcraft, which is always in conversation with Wicca, so it's like i've come full circle in a way. i don't even remember when i became aware of traditional witchcraft as a movement but it resonated with me more powerfully than Wicca had. of course, the more i've learned about tradcraft, the more my respect for Wicca has grown. and this has altered my Satanic path in interesting ways, so that it has very, very little to do with christianity and is more akin to the worship of Dionysus.

Do heterosexual male witches exist? They don't seem to, at least on the internet. Do you have any insights to why that is?

I would say another difference is traditional witchcraft is more likely to use folk charms or prayers that have Christian elements than Wicca.

To me, “ceremonial magic” is (or at least certainly can be) a part of the tradition of witchcraft. Possession of grimoires was one of the many proofs that someone was a witch, and most of these grimoires we have today include what would today be thought of as “High” or “Ceremonial” magic, with long incantations in Latin, with strict timing, specific components, etc. In the end these terms can be useful in conversation, the distinction doesn’t hold up well under scrutiny. I would recommend anyone who hasn’t to read through some Golden Dawn and Thelemic material, as well as some of the more recently published and translated grimoires. Even if you don’t end up bringing much of it into your practice, it will likely shed some light on things that already are a part of your practice.

Do this ritual now... ok? *" gather all your spell books and charm's and candies and bring them outside and burn them in 🔥 fire...ok ? By doing this you will avoid the wrath of God!! Open the holy bible and read it. ..*" and the devil that decieved them was cast alive into the lake of 🔥 and brimstone where he cannot decieve the nations anymore forever.....you must realize that there is no salvation plan un satanism or witchcraft...m
