The perfect French with Dylane how do you know when to use subjunctive? I know it’s used when expressing doubt or a hypothetical situation, but I’ve seen it a lot in church readings (started attending masses in French) where it didn’t seem correct. Thanks a lot! Your videos are very helpful!

You described it well, expressing doubt and hypothetical situation. Church reading have more of an "old school" way of speaking, but I would guess that it's when the text refers to desire. If you want me to have a look at it you can share a few sentences if you want

Bonjour Dylane !Thank you for such amazing video! Could you help me please to understand the difference in using EN and DANS when it is mentioned time. For example: Elle finira dans 5 minutes. or Elle á fini de cuisiner en 5 minutes . My brain is ready to burst... Thank you .

@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane That makes a lot of sense. I didn't know that subjunctive could be used with desire. Thank you so much :)

oh that's a good one Elena. Elle finira de cuisiner dans 5 minutes => 5 minutes from now, in 5 minutes she will be done. Elle a fini de cuisiner en 5 minutes => 5 minutes in total. Il court un marathon en 3 heures => It takes him 3 hours, not less not more. So when we use DANS, we don't know when the action starts but we know when it ends. With EN we know the exact timeframe.
Un grand merci, Dylane!

First of all, your videos are really very helpful for all, especially for me, second, since I can ask a question, here it goes-could you tell me when should I use la in sentences -Histoire de France or de la France, Geography de France or de la France? sometimes I see on books la, sometimes not. is there rule which I should follow? the same for Ambassade de France ou de la France? thank you for your guidance in advance!

Three years after you uploaded this video, I have a question. 🤣 For partir, one of the examples you gave was: "Il est parti hier" If you specified that he left the house (specifically the house) yesterday, would you then use sortir? "Il est sorti la maison hier." As always, a very helpful video!

Passe composé of sorti conjugationed with the verb être obviously always equates to / l went, you went, he went, she went, and so forth and so on till you get to ( on est sorti ( e)s = or translates to one went in the past tense, since the present tense of ( on est sorti ) is one goes...l am asking you dylane because these two verbs sorti and parti can be interpreted in So many different ways for the most part dylane.
