    Scenecore isnt even supposed to be a thing. Some tiktok kids just randomly made it up because all the sudden every kind of vibe is a "core" "scenecore" is actually "glitchcore"

    I feel like scenecore is like, the modern equivalent of scene. It still has some aspects of the original scene, including things like kandi and dark makeup, but everything else is just extra eyestrain + hyperpop music. I myself am scene, but I’m not super into “scenecore”!

    How I see it: -core asethetics are ONLY asethetics. They are not a subculture because the fact that they do not have a "goal" Scene exists to rebel against social norms and let people express themselves no matter if it's cringey. The goal is to let people express themselves and meet friends. Scenecore does not, it is something that tries to sorta copy "scene" fashion, but forgets that scene isn't just a fashion style. It's called a subculture for A REASON! You can dress "scenecore" but you'll never BE "scenecore." Ya get what I mean? Capiche?

    I'm an Elder Emo/Scene. I have fallen in love with the whole Scenecore Aesthetics over the past few years. it reminds me of a modern take on Mid to Late 2000s Scene culture mixed with the Anime, Nightcore scene all wrapped up in Internet Culture over the past 20 years. i know there's a different but there's a lot of overlap with both. also I love this editing being like a late 2000s KZread Video 😊

    Can we please acknowledge that not everyone is able to have the traditional parted bangs / "scene hair". I'm seeing alot of people talking about the hairstyle being significant. Some people with naturally curly or afro hair might chose not to straighten it, and excessive straightening is damaging to hair. I don't think a someone has to have a specific hair style to fit into an aesthetic

    Back when core meant hardcore music, and the animes scenekids used to know wasn't only dogshitronpa, or any of the big 3, but: death note, darker than black, soul eater, casshern sins, shattered angels, heaven's lost property, card captor sakura, and many many more. One of the aspects of scene I thing gets overlooked the most is the anime subculture aspect of it lol. Scenekids were actually heavy heavy weebs, a lot more than now. It wouldn't be a stretch to say every scenekid back in the late 2000s had their own unique anime they liked. I was introduced to so many obscure anime by other scene kids back then I would be here all day lol

    i shouldve explained this in the video, but i don’t think you can be a scenecore person. scenecore isn’t a look or music subculture, and when i do see “scenecore” people, they don’t have a particular style, they just wear kandi and believe they are scenecore. it’s also not a music thing either, they mainly listen to hyperpop, which i don’t believe belongs to any subculture or anything like that. so yeah. if u think ur a scenecore person pls lmk why and what ur interpretation of a scenecore person is because i see it as just a visual thing because, scenecore is partly inspired by glitchcore, and you can’t be a glitchcore person either. glitchcore and scenecore are both just picture edits to me. btw if u have any questions or video suggestions lmk :3 EDIT: THE SONG IS YOUNG FOREVER BY THE READY SET NIGHTCORE STOP ASKING ITS LITERALLY IN THE DESC

    I think the idea of scenecore is a look/aesthetic *inspired* by the original scene subculture. The whole idea of -core is that the aesthetic takes inspiration from whatever is the prefix. If someone says their style is scenecore, I'd like to think that they know that it's a scene inspired aesthetic, rather than the subculture itself. It's like people who say their aesthetic is cottagecore, they don't need to live in an actual cottage, but their style is inspired by rural living and nature. I do understand the anger though, scenecore is not really a subculture like some people make it out to be, it's an aesthetic, inspired by the very real subculture.

    @@Maebytheway i love how you’re telling me this when i’ve specified that scenecore is literally just something you look at. it’s not even a “look” because theres no look/style, it’s just pictures. i made this video for people who think scene is scenecore when its nothing of the sort.

  • @Maebytheway

    @Maebytheway

    @@seikoshinohara4ever In the video you show two pictures of 'scenecore people' because of the clothes they are wearing. That's what a 'look' is. I'm not saying that scenecore is anything more than an aesthetic, but that means (as shown in this video) there is music, clothes and iconography associated with it. It's not 'just pictures', you literally have examples of scenecore music and fashion in this video. I am aware of the difference between scene and scenecore, I'm just sick of people gatekeeping fashion and music when people aren't even trying to be 'scene', theyre just enjoying things associated with the subculture.

  • @seikoshinohara4ever

    @seikoshinohara4ever

    @@Maebytheway No not exactly. I showed what people who call themselves scenecore look like, which isn’t really scenecore anyways because it’s literally JUST wearing kandi and emo clothes which is JUST wearing kandi and emo clothes. I showed hyperpop music and hyperpop is not even scene or scenecore, I used hyperpop as an example of scenecore music because scenecore people make playlists with that music. hyperpop is hyperpop and it doesn’t belong to any music based subculture that i’m aware of, it’s just a mix of different genres. Scenecore is nothing but something you look at because there’s no style. People who call themself scenecore just wear kandi and put “scenecore” stuff over their photos. I’m a real authentic scene kid and other scene kids I’ve talked to also agree, so it’s not really “gatekeeping” it’s just being annoyed by people taking our style out of context and associating it with bullshit

    To me "scenecore" is a less harsh way of saying poser, and that's that. I don't mean to "gatekeep" but people who have no clue about scene subculture yet associate completely unrelated things with it and label themselves "scene" or "scenecore" pretty much just flat out means they are posers and I'm not sorry for saying so. tbh idc about this danganronpa kandi demonia "aesthetic" as long as you don't call it smth it is not. rawring 20s was about reviving original SCENE not creating "scenecore". To simplify scenecore is music adjacent to cloud rap and emo rap type of music. To your lil peep, yunggoth, GBC, Astari rappers, bladee, Yung lean, nosgov. Those are artists part of the various cloud rap/pc genres that e kids tend to like. E culture is rooted in rap and scene culture is rooted in rock, e culture is a thing from TikTok, scene dominated myspace. The aesthetic although Is damn near the same, the music is adjacent, and that's bc e culture is the current big alt subculture spawned from SoundCloud rap and certain eerie TikTok sounds/songs that also had an influence on it. Then when the rawring 20s hit, this nu scene shit made popularity in Astari (a big cloud rap channel). SoundCloud rappers got inspired by the scene subculture they witnessed but barely got to experience, especially now that scene is more relevant. Brokencyde, dot dot curve, millionaires, etc. walked so astari rappers, peep, GBC, draingang could run. Although it's culturally more in alignment with the e subculture, I just call this nu scene or sum

One thing I'd like to explain are some of my interests (Read below) I'm a big fan of scene culture, mainly cuz it's nostalgic and it's a peaceful community, and I'm also into a bit of webcore My interests involving those times: Diary of a Wimpy Kid Homestar Runner Total Drama Island Aqua Teen Hunger Force Scribblenauts Super Meat Boy Home Movies (from [as]) NCircle Enterntainment's old shows (from the late 2000's to early 2010's) LittleBigPlanet Happy Monster Band And the music I listen to: Some music on some scene (not the hyperpop) playlists The music featured in the DOAWK movies (Forever the Sickest Kids, etc.) Tally Hall Eiffel 65 Maroon 5 Renard Basshunter And lots more, but I can't fit em all here Does all that make me scene?

    although this is definitely true, and theres a difference between these, we shouldn't be getting mad at every single person who says they're "scenecore" because most people don't know the difference and are just misguided by tiktoks. we need to understand that not everyone saying they're scenecore has malicious intent. and while scene and scenecore are different styles and such, scenecore is similar to scene in the ways that it's influenced by 2000's styles and media. once again, they're different things, but scenecore is inspired by scene. so rather than being annoyed, and angry at thoe who consider themselves scenecore, why don't you just calmly tell theme the difference, and let them live their lives? as someone who has outfits that are inspired, or just are the styles, of scene and scenecore, the amount of hate i get from elder scene people is insane. elder scene people should be able to recognize that scenecore is a style inspired by scene, and that they should be happy that their style has rubbed off a bit onto younger people. although scenecore people do need to give credit where it is due towards scene people, we should still let them dress the way they want, and if it's really that big of a problem that they use the name scenecore, help some people find new names to call their style. it's not that hard to be kind and understanding to people.

    1:16 this is where I think you're wrong. MSI is scene, the music and band formed in 1999 to 2015. I understand that songs like Shut me Up and Fggot are popular amongst the Scenecore community, however, their songs like "youll rebel to anything" and "prom" are VERY MUCH scene. Its sorta in the middle when it comes to the genre since its electropunk but Id say artists like 6arelyhuman and 100 gecs are scenecore and MSI is scene edit: also sorry if i come off as defensive. I hve been an msi superfan since i was like 10 so 💀

    Not saying I’m one of these people, but this video feels a little unnecessarily judgemental? Scene is coming back and is being changed for a new generation, which is what scenecore is. And someone isn’t wrong for liking scenecore things! It’s all a matter of taste and experimentation. Kids nowadays are trying out newer styles and variations of preexisting styles (scene into scenecore, trad goth into nugoth, etc.) and there’s nothing wrong with that! Plus, not everyone can afford things besides Kandi! Committing to an entire look costs money and not everyone has that. :3 sorry to seem upset i just don’t appreciate judgement of people :(

    because scenecore isn’t even a thing really… it’s literally just pictures you look at. subcultures fall under either looks, music, or both. theres no such thing as scenecore music or style. as i said in the pinned comment- they think kandi makes them scene but it doesnt.. if you add that to the rest of the original scene look it makes it look scene but if you wear just kandi without anything else thats scene then you won’t look scene. scenecore ppl think hyperpop is scene when its just its own thing.. scene music is what i put in the video. they arent even trying to form a new subculture, to me it looks like theyre just making shit that makes no sense and trying to add it to scene stuff and it gets everyone confused and it makes me mad.

You would more be considered a soon to be scene kid rather than a scene kid who hit their full potential if u know what I mean? Anyways scene fashion is just 2000s style casual clothes with crazy accessories. But I agree with the fact that not many people can get scene hair because the hair cut is complicated as hell and dyeing, spraying, and teasing can ruin it. even I don't have scene hair but I can style it that way. Someone could even achieve scene hair if its layered and they clip their hair so it looks like side bangs. If someone dislikes the scene hair and thinks its ugly THEN they aren't scene.
