African American/black/ADOS/black African descent AND German American/white/Caucasian/white European descent 50/50 biracial and a recent descendant of Americans who ethnically have lineage which goes back to specific regions out of both Europe and Africa. But those continents have never informed my identity directly unless having been friends with African immigrants and taking German language class in school counts. So, they are distant informants for who I am, ethnically, to be honest. I'm not keen on checking off boxes unless I have to but if I'm being serious and true to my race by genotype, I will mark two or write it in. 'Other' could be a good thing if you don't like to be specific or like your privacy, otherwise, it's unspecific and not very accommodating. Phenotypically, I favor black presentation except for my facial features which look more European Anglo white, whatever you want to say. Socially and culturally (also, with respect to nationality) I am good with just identifying as American because I have lived my entire life having had influences coming from both sides of my race plus other races, too, by association, with very close friends and their families who were like my family.

I've always understood ethnicity as a combination of race, culture and territory. The third one, territory, can have less bearing on ethnicity than the others.

Nationality means citizenship? That is redundant. What word means “nation to which you were born”? If you are born in England to a family that has been in England for thousands of years then move to France and become a citizen of that country fully embracing its culture and traditions, are you English or French? Is your nationality now French? Is your ethnicity now French? What do you call your English origin?

@@guilhermea2346 It is, always has been. Just because the powers that be won't let us do science on it doesn't mean we aren't genetically different. I believe it was suggested by some scientists a while back that a sub-saharan African and a non african are futher relatives than a dog and a wolf. The kicker is that dogs and wolves are considered subspecies, whereas humans are not. There's no reason for such a blatant rejection of truth (assuming the research is good, haven't peer reviewed it or anything).

There are different definitions of "nationality". What he mentioned in the video is the anglophone definition equal to citizenship. In continental European context nationality is equal to ethnicity while the term "ethnicity" is traditionally not used.

Modern Europeans are descended from 3 different populations of humans, none of which originated in the Caucus Mountain region. The term "Caucasian" is only used in the United States (aka the most racially segregated country in the world).

Bantus, Pygmies and East-Africans look very different from each other. @@Unknown00432 German is a really tricky one on that behalf, because Austrians speak German, yet don't identify as ethnically Germans. Also Germany in itself is culturally and linguistically diverse, which reflects also in the political system: It is a federal republic with 16 federal states, each with an own government, own police force, school system, etc. I personally as a Bavarian have much more in common culturally and linguistically with someone from Austria than with someone from Hamburg. Hence when it comes to ethnicity I don't identify as German, that's just my nationality. Ethnically I'm Bavarian. My mother tongue is Bavarian, which is not spoken in the largest parts of Germany and the majority of Germans can't understand it well. Consider Bavarian differs from standard German more than Norwegian differs from Danish. I think you could compare it to the Scottish. They're citizens of the UK, but they aren't English.

I agree with nationality, but I'll just offer that I was taught differently with the rest. I don't know if there's a term between Species and Race, such as the ability of tigers and lions to breed, even if their children are infertile. I was taught that human beings had multiple Races, but we fought and other Races merged with ours or died out, the most recent example being Neanderthals. We then became one Race, and diverged into different Ethnicities that evolved seperately over thousands of years apart from each other. "Red, Yellow, Black & White, all are precious in Jesus' sight", these are general ethnic categories that might deserve their own term. How did we end up with different definitions on those terms?

So is my ethnicity Mexican if my nationality is American? And my race is White/Hispanic. Or is my ethnicity Hispanic, confusing. I would think a nationality becomes an ethnicity (at least more specific)

Take a DNA test there's a good chance you also have indigenous and even African genetics 🧬.Looks are deceiving as far as genetics.

you forget a few things: - man is an animal; - the race is the subspecies; - the human race does not exist, there is the human species (common); - if mestizos exist, there are races; - men share 99.5% of the genome, not 99.9%; - bonobo and chimpanzee, two different species, differ by only 0.3%; - man and chimpanzee are 98.5% alike; - 'ethnicity' is not synonymous with 'race', being two completely different subdivisions that indicate distinct concepts: ethnicity is predominantly culture, race biology; - there are specific medications depending on the breed, as well as the presence of typical diseases and food intolerances (see lactose). Other than a social construct: race exists and has biological value.

I only see the weird groups in America though. It's supposed to be oy BLK (light skin or darker) and yt, as a social construct only. We supposed to been accepted that we mixed up Americans, with technically many different ethnicities/ancestors. I don't know anyone that's not recently mixed up, but they do generalize their highest mix of ethnicities and say Asian or whatever ancestors

Aryan isnt really a race because how would a Brown Indian with different physical features than a white European both be considered Aryan or from the same race, didnt he just say that race is based on physical appearance?

​@@hishamalaker491well northern Indian aren't brown, they are tanned, and if the word Aryan was used for the people living in Indus Valley civilisation or the migrants from Eurasia, White people were never aryans, Aryan itself a sanskrit word, although Aryan history is very vague.
