    for 50$ to extend them its a peace of mind for people who always go through water. At the ending of the day its about having that peace of mind.

    Proof positive of the (huge) value in watching your 'back catalogue' of videos while you're on holiday! I had my 150 booked in for ARB diff' breathers to be installed two weeks from now (before installing my KAON UVP). I'm now going to cancel that job - thank you for saving me money! Funny though, I have a recollection of you checking the rear diff breather actually on top of the diff - must have NOT been on a 150 series. Huge thank you Anthony! 👍👍

    I only extended the rear Diff-breather. Run a hose to the Fuel fill-cap.

    I bought an ARB diff breather kit and was going to install it. After watching your video I am now selling my ARB diff breathing kit and going to leave my Prado in a factory arrangement with the breathers. Cheers for the video...........

    Every time I had my diff oil changed the oil was milky (lots of 4WDing through puddles) after installing diff breathers never had a problem.

    Really great advice. Makes a lot of sense to me. I have an FJ Cruiser and have relocated most, but i thought the same as you regarding transmission breather. BUT, it looks to me like there is a breather & cap bolted directly to the transfer case that could go under water quite easily. I hear some people saying that both transfer and transmission are plumbed to above bel housing, but there is one of those caps on drivers side of transfer that worries me. Any advice on that?

    As a person who crosses a few creeks and rivers. I don't know why or how they put them in that spot. I've got mine just below the bonnet hinge.

    I extended them when changing the clutch.. you could do it now obviously, both those jobs makes it convenient, otherwise like you said it shouldn’t be an issue unless you start floating away lol

    What the video doesn't mention is that when factory breathers close when crossing water, a vacuum is created in the diffs, that suction created eventually starts sucking water through the weak points of the diff, being the seasl that worn over time.

    Those standard breather "valves" all get blocked.. constantly... No Good!

    I wonder why the Toyota Engineers decided to put the breathers in such a ridiculous spot? They must have been smokin something good at the time!

    Never ceases to amaze me how “Fred in a shed” knows than Toyotas own R&D technicians. Most of these modifications are really unnecessary.

    The Toyota R&D engineers (and all manufacturers engineers) know what is best for the majority of their customers, and for the company. When someone has special needs, such as increasing the factory wading depth, modifying the load capacity or increasing performance (and therefore decreasing reliability/efficiency), they may be able to improve on Toyota *for their specific requirements*. Unfortunately, the aftermarket accessory industry thrives on vehicle owners who want to feel that their vehicle is unique. Ironically, all these owners who want to make their vehicle unique throw all the same accessories as each other; so you end up in the situation where any person who once saw a kangaroo cross the road will fit a $3000 ARB Summit Bullbar (or any of the dozen of identical-looking bull bars) to their *rig* so they can prevent $1000 worth of panel damage.
